Great videos as always pal. Just a tip for the fluxators when refilling. Use your hairdryer to warm up the flux and it will run to the bottom. Keep up the great work
Feel your frustration when you try to help a tenant with helpful advice and they are so negative , should have capped it off and told him too dangerous to use , give him something to moan about. Excellent video very informative and interesting even though I've been a jobbing plumber for near on 45 years. 👍
I live in the U.S.A didn’t realize there was such a difference in plumbing styles 👍👍 YOU GUYS DEFINITELY SOLIDER MUCH NEATER THAN OVER HERE.........VERY PROFESSIONALLY DONE.
I've been a plumber since four years time served in 1982 and I've been enjoying your videos. There's lots of similarities with my daily work. Being a jobbing plumber is mainly a very solitary occupation and we don't get to see how other plumbers work. At least I'm not the only one still using a Milwaukee battery pipe cutter! Thanks for sharing.
Another great video...im a bricklayer and all my works domestic so im always up for learning bits of other trades...your stuff is really great for that and your tool reviews also! Keep it up pal doing a great job i look forward to the next one 👍
Totally agree with not being able to help some people re the shower scenario! I’m a Spark but we have the same issues with tenants and sometimes you just can’t do right for wrong by them! Nice videos mate, always nice to see a ferrule end on a cable. Keep up the good work fella 👍🏻
As an electrical engineer with 15 years or so experience it is nice to watch this video as you show you have a volt stick and a GS38 approved tester as well as a normal meter. This shows you know exactly what you are doing. I had to walk a plumber off site this year because he was claiming the chassis of the boiler was live with a volt stick hence my call out. It was just induced voltage which is common as I have found around Vaillant boilers (I do have a few Fluke volt sticks but they are go no go style tests and I still follow safe isolation, mostly they stay in my jacket for that quick test before safe isolation). He wanted the entire boiler replaced due to electrical safety and hence I was there in shock. As soon as I asked if he used a GS38 approved tester like you have he looked shocked. I never had to even get my Fluke MFT out of the van. There was no electrical fault. Still did an EICR just to mostly cover my self stating no fault. Then the Fluke MFT did have to come out the van. The fault was actually low pressure and I am not a plumber and I still knew how to fix this fault and had the boiler firing within 15 minutes of me been there for an electrical fault. Keep up the good work 😬
You could've made this an hour long and i wouldn't have noticed. Very informative, brilliant pipework and extremely professional! Apprentices out there take heed 😉
Great videos PB!😀 your instructional techniques and manner are spot on. A big thank you for the great videos and effort you make doing them. I look forward the the next.
Another great vid. You are so right about not being able to help some people (the guy with the shower). You did exactly what I would have done and tried to find a work around for the problem, but some people don’t seem to be able to think outside the box. Great work.
I think ur vlogs are very useful pb. Very interesting and tips with the tools you use are ace, keep up with the good work mate, don’t listen to haters as there are many. Ur a genuine guy and they help me as I’m new to Gas and plumbing. Thanks a million pb.
I’ve got one of those Fluke boxes for my ‘testing kit’. Auto ranging Fluke multimeter, Klein volt stick, Robin earth loop impedance tester etc, looks the business.
I think the length of your videos is great. I find them very informative and learn quite a few new bits from them! I really like the Fluke case by the way, might have to treat myself to one of them and that crimping set. It does look much neater using that 👍
im a sparks and its so nice to hear a plumber being sensible with their testing! a plumber once said to me its fine its the volts that kill not the amps :/
Pb great video as always. Can I recommend a Regin expansion hand pump. The air hose is really long so great for boilers and expansion vessels , so just pump from ground level. 👍
Top pro. Felt really humble with the last video, heating heroes . If there is anything in the Devon and Cornwall area count me in. Make the videos as long as you want , if I know it already I feel superior if I don't I want to know.
Great video. Learned a lot. I am a handyman and so these type of videos help to refer client to plumbers for certain repairs. It is better to be able to say to the client, I think this is your problem but you need to get a plumber as opposed to saying I have no idea what it is. Obviously I don't touch or look at anything to do with gas, I just tell them you need a gas safe engineer and tell them not to deal with anyone who is not gas qualified. Videos are not too long.
Hi PB, excellent video mate! going by your video I’ve just fitted my first danfoss tpONE thermostat /programmer and I have to say they are an excellent bit of kit, Nice and simple to use and they look really smart and stylish
You get the noise with the toilet diaphragm washer because it's not lifting off the cone cleanly because it's lost its flexibility with being held down for years , same applies to part 2 float valves in cwsc 's. Sounds like concorde is flying over 😂
I can confirm that you can put different flux in the fluxuorator. My supplier gave me the demo one out of there display because they didn't want to order them in and i just put my on LA-CO in to it, once you fill the cylinder, just let it sit in the sun to let all the air come to the top and then wind it a bit and your good to go.
worst thing about something going wrong after you've touched something else is trying to explain to the customer that it wasn't your fault and these things just happen, most people arent understanding and think life is like a perfect manual and that's it. Its nice when you finally do come across an easy going customer though 👌
Great video as always, 26 minutes went very quickly. One thing to mention: the strap on the expansion vessel should be in the upper hole on the bracket, that way there is less leverage on it making a more secure connection so it won't sag or wobble
Enjoy your vlogs i am an Air con engineer and we have simular customers to deal with when you cant get a part straight away and say until then just do this so you can use a/c they say no i am not touching anything but as you say you cant help some people
Great videos mate. Your whole attitude to any given task is a dying art. Your skills are definitely up there ( nearly as a good as a sparks), ever thought about employing an apprentice to keep the skill set flowing?
You need to get yourself one of the battery powered regin vessel pumps, £50 but it's the best thing you'll buy, got mine a few years ago from wolseley parts centre and use it daily
Don't know about others, but never had much training on bending pipes, would really help if you could do some kind of tutorial. Its the sort of thing you can live without doing, but would really pay to be good at. Obviously youve got it pretty nailed, would really appreciate a video demonstrating. love the videos :)
You should look at the new Milwaukee m12 air compressor light and small and automatically shuts of at the pressure that you set it for I have one in my truck it is a fantastic piece of gear
I'm a plumber in Texas. been plumbing for 25 years. I like your little channel here. u do things different there in the uk but that's all good, thats what makes our trade. Interesting. by the way , what does " jobbing plumer" translate to in English?😊
It depends on the job. Complicated procedure; dealing with the unexpected; tips and talk, unique to the job, based on your experience; some narrative for the DIYer ... can add minutes to a video but I think it would be worthwhile. Plus, think of what your subscribers might prefer - if most of your viewers are plumbers then they might want shorter spots because they know what you're doing and understand it all. The DIYer might need a little more "talk me thru it" approach.
I agree with the people saying your videos are probably to short. your gonna have mixed emotions on the video, some want to see you talk and listen to your tips, some want to watch so they can slate your work, sorry i mean TRY to slate your work, you are a good Plumber/engineer, you remind me of my old boss to be honest apart from your not a twat! enjoying what you do bud, thanks for the uploads.p.s just be aware at some point in this journey you are going to get hate from some one.. ignore them and move on. i call these the .. no lifers subscribers
Hi PB... Avid viewer.....Just out of curiosity....Are you registered on one of the competent persons schemes as limited scope for plumbers and kitchen fitters etc...? If not how do you get on when installing such items a new boilers requiring a new power point etc... and supplying a certificate for the electrical works involved. Thanks.
When you put both boilers in service mode do you have the tap running or does it automatically switch on the central heating? Never knew that thanks for the tip
I think I said this on the last one PB; for these types of video 20 - 30 mins seems bang on. Love you instagram story too. EDIT - even up to 40 mins now and again if you have something that takes a bit longer to show/explain to be fair.
Peter sutton it wasn’t connected with the heating just the cold Inlet to the cylinder, isolated the cold water and disconnected the vessel and pumped it up 👍🏽
Some customers you can tell straight away that they almost hate you even tho your there to help them I don’t bother giving customers tips now for the reason like you said they just push back at you
Big Boss you actually get a flexi supplied with some expansion vessels. I wouldn’t fit one on an expansion vessel but you can only do so much because at the end of the day the customer is the one who has to pay for it
P B Plumber guess they must be rated high the ones that come with it and totally get you about the customer as I also work for letting agents etc. Keep up the great content. 👍🏻
Great stuff man, Do you think you just buy tools for the sake of buying it having 200 screwdrivers is great but how many can you use at once ? my old boss had a tool box and a few power tools a some bits and pieces and got buy for 38 years and become a millionaire , You have enough tool's to kit out 10 vans ha ha 😀 Have you ever took all the tools screwdrivers ect out the van to actually COUNT and see how much and many things you have , Please make a video going through everything , o guess 250 screwdrivers 350 hand tools ?
Jac ck go plumb center and take kettle ...decent coffee as theirs is shit lol .. a George foreman and some bacon mate .. be there half 7 Friday mornings are good and meet your local plumbers and explain yourself ... Offer yourself for free trial
Great videos as always pal. Just a tip for the fluxators when refilling. Use your hairdryer to warm up the flux and it will run to the bottom. Keep up the great work
I’m addicted to your vids keep them coming, they are class 👍👌
Mate can you do a video about boilers. Explaining difference in good & bad and carrying out a survey for a new boiler installation.
You are finding your own way with the vids, I luv em. As I’ve said before you also have a living to make. Great work too! Regards Mike

uuhm. People really do believe that though. :(
I think that you're doing a great job . I like to see what is going on in the plumbing world across the pond Nova Scotia service plumber

Ur soldering is bang on mate ... I'm so tired of looking in people's airing cupboards and finding the bottom of a parrot cage ..
With your love of tools PB, I thought you would have a battery pump for charging vessels. Good vid, always good to see how other guys work.
Hi PB, excellent video mate! going by your video I’ve just fitted my first danfoss tpONE thermostat /programmer and I have to say they are an excellent bit of kit, Nice and simple to use and they look really smart and stylish
Salim Khan glad you liked them mate
Blimey, that 26 mins went fast. Great video, thanks PB

Nice electrical tool kit ! Maybe I should do a video on my plumbing kit ? It would be a laugh though tbf

Right off the start I'm a plumber in USA I personaly like the more informative lil longer videos

Hi PB looks like a cross water mixer valve , so check them out , hope this helps , Great vid , keep them coming ..
I'm a plumber in Texas. been plumbing for 25 years. I like your little channel here. u do things different there in the uk but that's all good, thats what makes our trade. Interesting. by the way , what does " jobbing plumer" translate to in English?😊
Changed an unvented hot water expansion vessel today as it happens, split diaphragm, customer will have ginger hot water for a few days as a result.
Real tidy job on the unvented hot water cylinder. Roughly how long did it take and what did you charge for labour?
It depends on the job. Complicated procedure; dealing with the unexpected; tips and talk, unique to the job, based on your experience; some narrative for the DIYer ... can add minutes to a video but I think it would be worthwhile. Great work , how do you know if you missed a solder joint? I cannot see any solder.
Hi Nice clean job but sorry to point out D1 discharge pipe doesn't look to be 600mm before first bend. However, I may be wrong!
D1 is a max length of 600mm. Doesn't matter of distance before first bemd. D2 however you can't have a bend within the first 300mm
Is pumping up an expansion vessel something which needs to be done on a regular basis? Say every 6-12months. Or should they never need touching?
Great vid. Have you tried the expansion vessel floor standing pump regin do? I’ve got one and it’s miles better.
w Johnstone no but I’m definitely getting one after that job
Regin pump has a 3m hose too 👍🏻
Mate did you solder those pipe on the tank or just put them for video and solder after looks really neat
Great video! Can you do a demo on pipe bending when there is two bends on one pipe?
Hi PB... Avid viewer.....Just out of curiosity....Are you registered on
one of the competent persons schemes as limited scope for plumbers and
kitchen fitters etc...? If not how do you get on when installing such
items a new boilers requiring a new power point etc... and supplying a

Nice video could . You need to get some sleeving for when you do electrical work to keep in your box.
When you put both boilers in service mode do you have the tap running or does it automatically switch on the central heating? Never knew that thanks for the tip

Can I ask why do some off your uploads keep saying deleted or error.? I put them into my watch later and when I come home there are gone? 🤔🤔
Goodmorning sir i want to know What is the power needed to heat 1 cubic meter in central heating and how to calculate it. Thank you
Nice tools P.B
Hi when you re pressurised the expansion vessel did you have to drain the heating side or just pump it up without doing anything else
Peter sutton it wasn’t connected with the heating just the cold Inlet to the cylinder, isolated the cold water and disconnected the vessel and pumped it up 👍🏽
Some customers you can tell straight away that they almost hate you even tho your there to help them I don’t bother giving customers tips now for the reason like you said they just push back at you
I’m going to have to look at that stat a bit more I was expecting a bunch of cables at the back
Another great 👍 video pb little short though 😂
love these!
Just asking why didn't you change the flexi on the expansion vessel, surely that's not right?
Big Boss you actually get a flexi supplied with some expansion vessels.
I wouldn’t fit one on an expansion vessel but you can only do so much because at the end of the day the customer is the one who has to pay for it
P B Plumber guess they must be rated high the ones that come with it and totally get you about the customer as I also work for letting agents etc. Keep up the great content. 👍🏻
Very neat job

And the bigger wagons have a higher amp rating as the small one is 20a
Thanks PB! 👍
I had to pump a 200 litre vessel up to 4 bar on a job with a bike pump🤦🏻♂️ caught me without my compressor
Bet that was a fun week...
The shower is made by Hudson Reed
Strider 010 nice one bro cheers 👍🏽
Nice solder work....
Wow you definitely don't cheap out on tools. I've seen several of your videos and you seem to really invest in your trade.
keep up the good work
man of knowledge :)
The showers made by Hudson Reed mate.

Awesome thanks mate I’ll get in touch with them 👍🏽

I'm sure I typed "do you know" at the beginning
Always wandering why Brits bend so much copper. Thanks
my van was broken into yesterday all my power tools stolen and door bent down and window smashed gutted
Brendan Fisher oh no mate 😩
So sorry to hear that 😡😡😡😡
Hi mate, just about finishing my npa plumbing course and struggling to find a apprenticeship, got any tips on helping me find one?
Jac ck go plumb center and take kettle ...decent coffee as theirs is shit lol .. a George foreman and some bacon mate .. be there half 7 Friday mornings are good and meet your local plumbers and explain yourself ... Offer yourself for free trial
warm the flux up in microwave makes it a lot better
What is a pcb?

Go aldi’s i bought a 12v tyre pump £29.99 set it to what bar and press the trigger job done,Throw you pump in the bin fella
Never let a plumber near electrics - lol!
Right hand fed toilet left hand on this side of the pond
About the only thing standard with WC's now in the UK is that very little is standard :-( Soil outlet is usually about 7 1/4" but that's about it.
Greg Martin soil outlet on the bowl or rough in measurement of the wall
you need a battery operated air pump :)
i just run them at 1.25 speed.
Doesn't matter if double insulated need an earth to detect most faults
