Hey Hi, Saperis, My boss shared with me a bunch of files, how do I organise them like Ascending, Descending, Datewise, or say file size? and download it on my system? could you please help me out on this? Regards Jitendra
In Google Drive you can only sort files by Name and Modified by. You do so by clicking on the row headers. If you want to download a file you choose download from the context menu of the file.
You need a Google Workspace account to give temporary access to a file on your My Drive. If you have a free Google (Gmail) account you won't have this feature.
Mam, i need some information im entirely new to this.. I want to share some classes to my students from drive *With limited period access and im a consumer user. *without recording my classes while viewing by students Kindly please guide in this issues what to do
Hi Priya. Sharing files for a limited time only, the way I explain in this video, only works with a paid Google Workspace account. If, like in your case, you have a free Google account you will have to share and then manually un-share after some time. I don't understand the second part of the questions "*without recording my classes while viewing by students". What do you mean by that?
Ok. I see no way how you could stop this from happening. If you upload a video to Google Drive for them to watch they can use a screen recording software and there's no way from preventing that from happening.
No, you can't. You'll just simply loose access to the file once the sharing permission has expired. But you have no way of checking if that specific file is only shared temporarily with you.
The setting of expirations date on file sharing only works of both of these two conditions are met: 1. You need a paid Google Workspace account. 2. It has to be a file or folder in My Drive and NOT on Shared Drive.
@@saperis Ahhhhh I have been looking for this answer all over the internet!! I spent the past hour trying to figure out why I couldn't set up temporary access for a user in Shared Drive. I was even on a Support Chat with google and they couldn't tell me why!! I shared your comment with them lol
Since you seem to be the Google guru more so than Google support - I'm using Google Drive for Desktop and I was wondering if there was a way to duplicate folders that had Google sheets or google docs files in them? I seem to be hitting a wall..
Hi Sarah. So you want a folder to be duplicated (automatically?) whenever a Sheets or Docs files is saved in it? This might be a use case for Apps Script where you can automate thing and set up the automation script to run at certain times during the day.
This helped me a lot with my dilemma! Very applicable to teachers. Thank you!
You're very welcome! 😀

Thank you 😊 Very Much Love from India ❤️
Oh, thank you! And greetings from Switzerland.
Thank you so much.Very useful and practical as usual. DOes it also work with a shareable links?
No, it only works for sharing a file with specific people by adding their email address.

Thank you! Greetings, Chanel
Maam and how to remove the expiration date as an student
If your teacher has set an expiration date on a file shared with you, you can't remove that date. Only the owner of the file can do that.

I just replied to your first comment.
Can I possibly know if the link shared to me has an expiration? WITHOUT asking the file owner. 😅

i have paid version but this isnt available
You can only set an expiration date on files on your Google Workspace's My Drive. This won't work on a Shared Drive.
@@saperis hey thanks I tried on my drive only not shared! Still I couldn't see !
And you have a Google Workspace account with your own domain? So not a @gmail.com address?
