Building Resilience to Climate Change among Vulnerable Communities in Costa Rica

The Adaptation Fund together with Fundecooperación para el Desarrollo Sostenible is empowering small farmers in Costa Rica with climate-smart and resilient methods to adapt to floods and droughts. The project is also restoring marine ecosytems and managing coastlines sustainably, as well as improving water and food security among vulnerable farmers. The project is empowering local stakeholders, indigenous communities and fostering national and local partnerships in the process. The Fund and Fundecooperación further innovated a succesful virtual project monitoring mission in August to visit 10 project areas across the country, which they normally wouldn't have been able to get to all in person.
