Hey man if its not too much to ask Id really appreciate a watch on my new fly me to the moon cover! Completely inderstand if you wish not to, hope you have an amazing day!
I performed with Tom Thumb at the Sydney Opera House live in front of millions I am very happy for him but not surprised as he has always been a very hard-working focused & genuinely nice guy ✌💙🙏
I'm admittedly not very experienced in singing or beatboxing, but I do the hand thing all the time, it helps me hit the notes better. It's a weird brain thing, where in my mind different notes and stuff are located in different places, so if I try to do a vocal roll I move my hand up and down with it. It's almost involuntary
@@RoomieOfficial I think that it depends on how you utilize the technology. A lot of people leverage off the equipoment and let it do their work for them. Tom uses it to produce music thats technically impossible to generate with just his mouth, but there is still a lot of technicality around the noises he makes. TLDR, hes using the looping station to compliment his ability, rather than leaning on it. And Kudos to you for being open minded about it, glad you like his performance (you should check out his competition work, its incredible)
@@theflyingaxolotls i thought he said please like this video. but I don't know Swedish tho sooo (I know a couple other languages which helps with understanding these)
I totally agree about reducing the average views to connect more with subscribers. I follow a lot of youtube channels, but yours brings that feeling of being connected with someone. The daily upload made me put you in my routine, it's like receiving daily news from a friend. It's good to know that you care more about this connection than about views bc it makes me feel less like just a "number"
For someone that took some jazz classes, I guess you missed out on the entirety of the New Orleans jazz sound, which is exactly what he's emulating when he's doing the jazz part. Jazz has way more styles than classical and fusion. Just throwing that out there
Roomie: This is my best metal scream. Also Roomie: IN THE PIT OR THE CLUB, IT'S STILL OUR MUSIC! EVERYBODY WHO CAME AND TRIED? THEY LOST! BECAUSE IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME WITHOUT THE SIDEWAYS CROSS!!!!
No way!!! I love Tom Thum and if you did a collab with him, that would be incredible!! He doesn't have many subs, cause it's not really his main platform, but try and get him!!!
I can also recommend the Ted talk of Beardyman. Especially in terms of the voice samples reaching a next level. Anyway thanks for the entertaining content, real fun to binge watch.
you re very likable. i ve watched few of your videos. you have a good vibe and you seem to put a lot of effort and time to make your videos. good job keep it up
Loved your reaction to when he finished the Jazz piece. 🤣🤣🤣 it's like my reaction when someone does a sick dance move or when Captain America used Mjolnir 😭
Joel, you should check out Beardyman too - another beatbox/singer-soundmaker/comedian. He is an absolute god of on-the-fly live music production, using a monstrosity of a machine to manipulate his voice into full-blown tracks. I promise you won't be disappointed.
I know it's been like...6 months since this came out...but Tom Thum is great! I also highly recommend you check out Glorybox and a Massive Attack cover he did with his missus.
Roomie: He sounds Australian. I'm getting better at accents.
Background: TED x Sydney
still proud of you, Joel
hahah I thought exactly the same!
Oh god why did it take me so long to understand this comment...
@@gabie-mk8ib lmao!!!
Lmao i commented exactly that then I saw your comment 😂😂
although not all people are from the country where the talk is. For example there was a guy (from US i think) that had talk somewhere in Poland
Roomie: "I dOn'T liKE THe tEchnOlOGy stuFF mAn"
Also Roomie: Is amazed at the loop performance
Theres stuff about the loop station he doesnt like, but you can get around it with skill and variety
He said repetitive and loopy
Joel doesn't seem to like a loop station but loop station is the more advanced part to beatboxing
Nobody:
Roomie singing in metal: BlOoD, wHy DiD yOu lEaVe mE.
I heard that. lol
yeah man i hate when my blood goes out to get some milk and never comes back
I have a weird feeling that when the guy kisses someone, he would beatbox careless whisper while doing it

I so love seeing Joel happy and excited, I hope he never stops showing his enthusiasm and passion

Roomie: he is so good
Me: why is he eating the mic
Having heard "Tom Thum" beatboxer a year ago I was very impressed by him, especially his "ceiling noise" bass with the throat effect. Most impressive.
"Whoever can make people feel good will win"
Well there you go, Joel wins at life 😊💗
UWU this is such a nice and cute comment 😂😭❤
“Let’s see what he can do with his mouth.”
*clears throat*
Professional musicians saying "vocal cords" and my very technical brain screaming "it's VOCAL FOLDS".😂😂Lmao, I just couldn't help it😂.
Joel's laugh is out of this world🤣🤣🤣
Roomie:
“I’m getting better at accents”

3:20 Jazza? Is that you?
i think joel's current obsession over beatboxing comes from his desire to look younger.
but also i guess that beatboxing is not so famous now. It was famous exaclty when Joel was young so
coke and cheese. was referencing a video
Just to let you know, we REALLY appreciate that you spoke in Swedish at the start of the video 😇 it’s so nice to hear
That’s what that was? I was so confused.
Yeah I’m learning Swedish and I THINK he said hi welcome to this video
The Flying Axolotls same I think it's. Hey hey valkommen till annan video

I came back to watch this vid to find the part where he goes: rain on me , party party yeah
12:20 And that's exactly why the good loop station artists are so impressive - they can only use what they can make with their mouth

I loved the part where he went “akaksjssiwjwndbdhenwhsh” man that part was amazing dammmm.

Very true Roomie, maybe more than you know.......
The mouth trumpet sounds like the one from no diggity especially with the bwah

Lol jk. Awesome vid! Tom Thum is such an amazing beat boxer!
That trumpet duude, I feel happy to have been introduced to this. Will check out more of his stuff and the last thing seems super interesting.
Super underrated! Been following his stuff for years now.
Hi roomie
Congratulations!
Hello random person
Kenvick ED Hello
Tom is the pioneers of beatboxing
Tom Thumb should really go on a show called *The World's Got Talent*
5:21 If I did that, I'd get a nosebleed.
Haha! Last time I was this early we still had school
“Let’s see what he can do with his mouth”
joel’s commenting always gets me😂
OMGGGGGG
He said it: HEJ HEJ VÄLKOMMEN TILL EN HELT NY VIDEO
He also did a second TEDX where they put a camera down his throat while he beatboxed

Tom basically pioneered the mouth trumpet for a lot of beatboxers. This is 7 years old. But hes been doing this for longer. He's one of the OGs.
I can also recommend the Ted talk of Beardyman. Especially in terms of the voice samples reaching a next level. Anyway thanks for the entertaining content, real fun to binge watch.

You should do a review on his Ratchet Face song that he did with the Aussie orchestra... It's one of those things that just is wow
Billie Jean omgg I love Michael Jackson. You know he could beatbox too.
