Thank you to PBS and Henry Louis Gates Jr. for showing me this man. I'm watching Gospel right now and just learnt about Mr. Alex Bradford, as well as other soul moving singers and Holy Toledo I said. His voice just touches my inside somehow. How lovely a gift that is for him to give....
Professor Alex Bradford he made alot of songs that he didn't get credit for. But he had the gift of writing songs.
I love Alex Bradford..I met him several times in NYC. He was so gifted and enthusiastic. I wish someone would make a movie about him.
That's Willie James McPhatter singing lead. A gifted vocalist, organist and dynamic pianist. This was 1965 and two years before he left Alex Bradford and moved from Newark, New Jersey to Chicago to replace James Herndon in the World Famous Caravans.
❤
Interesting history.
Love the Alex Bradford Singers They had the showmanship of the soul stirrers and the vocals of the female diva groups of the day could you please post the episode with them singing I said, I wasn’t going to tell nobody and the meditation singers of Detroit, Michigan singing I’m Ready to serve the Lord
Madelline Bell was in this group but not in this video. She was probably already in England doing session work.
I love this channel
I see Louise overall Weaver on the organ
By the way thats Charles Campbell, the Bobby Hill and Richard "Butch" Faust in the background as the Bradford Specials.
❤️
Alex had a big group here! Does anyone know the names of the singers if possible
Willie James McPhatter, lead.
@@GospelMusicHistory Male singers from left to right, Charles Campbell, Bobby Hill, and Butch Fausch. Seated next to Fausch is the great Princess Stewart. McPhatter, a cousin of Clyde McPhatter, would later work with Albertina Walker's last edition of Caravans.
@@anthonyheilbut4912 - Tony. Thanks so much. I truly appreciate it.
Is that other man a young Bobby Jones?
