Kelly The Veil Walker Ancestor you commented on I couldn't help but notice how she stands at the Silver Birch Gate as does The Ancestor in the Wildwood Tarot. I was blown away. The ancient path I have pre ordered this deck on Amazon when it comes out mass market.
Beautiful deck, but wish the women's looks would represent the region they're from more. The Syrian stargazer is blonde and white-skinned, the greek and italian women are Scandinavian level PALE, and so is the indonesian girl. Wish there were less young, thin, beautiful people in tarot. I have a hard time connecting deep, ancestral wisdom and archetypal energies with magazine looking beauties.
Came here to say this. Really gorgeous artwork but extremely white (washed). The lack of diversity really put me off even though i LOVE that Hekate card
Young thin beautiful people in tarot is certainly a long standing issue, although I tend to think even in the past people (which some exceptions) do see their archetypes and or divine representations in an idealized to that time/place vision. I do feel like this deck the women had a variety of ages and many looked very capable and even stern, though I do agree on the Stargazer. As long as the review helps you to know “yes OR no” to a deck, I am content!
Oh I am so glad you have this deck now too!!! How about a playdate now? Isn't the book gorgeous, too? I got the art book in full size as an indulgence and it will be a treasure forever. It's so beautiful and well studied! Congrats!
Aww...yay for gifts! 💕 This deck is actually being gifted to me as well...should have it Tuesday! The day I found out, you posted this video and I've just been waiting to watch this. 🤗🤗
The card of Ruins reminds me of a painting you made and ones showed about a story and a women and buttons (I forgot her name)... I think it was about a house and the stories taking place there... If Im not mistaken it was in the Weaver oracle video.... The deck you showed is absolutly beautiful and I want it, I wished they had a bit more wise women from Africa then just the one card, but it's too beautiful of a deck so I will just go with it this time. As a Hoodoo practitioner I do love the Soothsayer card from New Orleans🙏🏾🤎 Thank you, ones again, for a beautiful and in-dept walkthrough of this deck and for all your input and stories😇😁🥰
How sweet of the person who sent you this deck. 💚 I’m just wondering Kelly, if you’ve used the Living Altar oracle deck? It’s absolutely breathtaking and so powerful. It has been made by witches from the LGBTQIA+ community, and they feature actual spells they cast for different seasons and cycles along the wheel of the year. Plus, each card has been blessed. Would love to see what your take on that deck would be. And I hope the rest of your week is great and you feel better soon. 💖.
Thank you so much for sharing this! (And on my birthday, nonetheless!) I had to get the art book when it was released, because of Rana (The Storyteller). I didn't know until recently that the art's been made into a deck. I will have to get the deck, too, because of Rana. I was born, raised, and still reside in Sápmi (Sámi land), with most of my heritage being Sea Sámi. Because of the heavy Christianisation, the bulk burning of rune drums, and the heavy Norwegian nationalism after the second world war, there's a lot of shame and generational trauma up here around being Sámi. Shamanic practices are heavily frowned upon. These are the spiritual practices I feel most called towards, and it's all very difficult to pursue because of the stigma, taboo, shame -- this blizzard of negative emotions surrounding our ancestral spirituality. Whenever I see my culture represented in tarot and oracle (another example: Page of Pentacles in Tarot of the Divine), I just *cannot resist* it. The people around me in my local community might be in complete denial about our spiritual roots, might shame it like it's a cardinal sin, but at least these artists from other pars of the world can recognise it, look at it, and honour it. That gives me hope.
Thank you so very much for sharing your experience and your connection to the Storyteller card with Rana, I did not know that there was such trauma around Sami heritage and I am so sorry to hear that you are having to try to fight your way through the "blizzard of negative emotions" as you so aptly describe it--BUT I am so glad that you ARE pushing through that and finding those connections to your spiritual roots! Many blessings to you!!
Thank you so much for this walk through. Ive just purchased this deck. I couldnt resist it. It is so beautiful. Cant wait for it to be delivered. 😊
Such a beautiful deck! Loved this walkthrough- thank you! 🥰

I am so glad you are going to snag this one when it comes out mass market, Pamela!!!
I think the object the bone weaver is holding is a sheeps shoulder bone, often used for divination purposes. I love this deck, I use it a lot.
Ahhh that makes sense, thank you!

Thanks for the in-depth walk thru. This Voices in this deck remind me of the Weaver's Oracle.

The animal on the „Unbound“ card should be an otter I think
Ok you said it
I agree about the lack of chemistry in the tv series of A Discovery of Witches🤔

I have been wanting this deck for a while, but like you, I have not pulled the trigger because of the shipping cost.😢
