Emendemus in melius, quae ignoranter peccavimus: ne subito praeoccupati die mortis,
quaeramus spatium paenitentiae
et invenire non possimus.
Attende Domine, et miserere, quia peccavimus tibi.
Adiuva nos Deus salutaris noster,
et propter honorem nominis tui, libera nos.
Let us make amends for the sins we have committed in ignorance: lest we should suddenly, at the day of death,
seek a place of repentance
and not be able to find one.
Hear us, Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned against you.
Help us, God our salvation,
and for the honour of your name, free us.

Superb phrasing and control! This sounds as if it emanated from a single entity - that's how good the sense of ensemble is in this performance. Many thanks to the five of the "Six" who worked this up for the video. Beautiful, graceful sacred music.
I have sung a lot of Byrd but I have never heard this one. Stunning work by that great composer and this ensemble does it so beautifully. Thank you for keeping William Byrd in music today.

Perfect and Holy.
When you manage to communicate with your own human humility, leaving aside all pagan things and your own common being. You realize that true life has just begun and is simple harmony.
There are no words to describe something that goes beyond the capacity of the basic human being ❤
So well said. Thank you for your comment.
