  • Virtuoso and composer, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, captures the full intensity of the haunting afternoon sunset raag, Raag Marwa. Ustadji plays an alap, vilambit and drut gats set to teentaal. The mood inspired by this raag is defined by the sunset in India, which approaches fast. It's this oncoming nightfall that awakens the feeling of longing and solemn contemplation.

Uff!!! What else can one say.
The devine power of his taankari and his total control over the Sum! Surely no one has ever come near it. Shame he hasn't been honored and rewarded as he deserves. Like Vilayat Khan Sahib before him, he has been bypassed by lesser musicians. And no one has taught so sincerely to so many who are now notable Sitarists themselves.

Waah Shahidbhai.....Bhalo legechhe......Your selection of "TinTaal" in Vilambit is appreciated....( as different from the usual Rupak/Jhaptaal used nowadays ) Both your Gaths are "Vocal Based" compositions & you have excellently shown the "Gayaki ang" ,Meend taans.....Marwa not an easy Raga to play on Instrument.....Nomoshkar
