Beryl Set To Strike Texas Gulf Coast As Hurricane Late Tonight
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- At 700 AM CDT (1200 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Beryl was
located by an Air Force reconnaissance aircraft near latitude 25.5
North, longitude 94.9 West. Beryl is moving toward the northwest
near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this motion should continue through
today. A turn toward the north-northwest is expected tonight, with
a turn toward the north on Monday. On the forecast track, the
center of Beryl is expected to make landfall on the Texas coast
Monday morning.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher
gusts. Strengthening is expected, and Beryl is forecast to become a
hurricane again later today or tonight before it reaches the Texas
coast.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km)
from the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb (29.29 inches)
based on Air Force dropsonde data.
STORM SURGE: The combination of storm surge and tide will cause
normally dry areas near the coast to be flooded by rising waters
moving inland from the shoreline. The water could reach the
following heights above ground somewhere in the indicated areas if
the peak surge occurs at the time of high tide...
Mesquite Bay, TX to San Luis Pass, TX...4-6 ft
Matagorda Bay...4-6 ft
San Luis Pass, TX to High Island, TX...3-5 ft
N Entrance Padre Island NS, TX to Mesquite Bay, TX...3-5 ft
Corpus Christi Bay...3-5 ft
Galveston Bay...3-5 ft
Mouth of the Rio Grande, TX to N Entrance Padre Island NS, TX...2-4
ft
High Island, TX to Sabine Pass, TX...2-4 ft
Sabine Pass, TX to Cameron, LA...1-3 ft
RAINFALL: Heavy rainfall of 5 to 10 inches with localized amounts
of 15 inches is expected across portions of the middle and upper
Texas Gulf Coast and eastern Texas beginning today through Monday
night. This rainfall will produce areas of flash and urban flooding,
some of which may be locally considerable. Minor to isolated
moderate river flooding is also expected.

Good morning from College Station, Texas. Houston native here.
Praying that y’all be safe and have what y’all need. May God watch over y’all.
Y'all are gonna get some nice rainfall and us over here in Austin will get maybe a breeze from it
Hi from Norway. Thank you David and team. All my precious adult children are in the path this time. Praying for Texas. Be safe all.
@@lynettek3633 it isn't going to be bad at all Lynette. We didn't even put the shutters up.
They will be fine. The news likes to cause a panic.
@@saltyjosh Thank you
I’m a lifelong Houstonian, this is a very small insignificant tropical storm or hurricane. I’m not concerned about it at all. Your family should be ok. God willing.
@@saltyjoshI agree, so their sponsors sell products.
@@Albert-the-Astro Thank you
From someone who has rebuilt two times already (Tax Day and Harvey), every storm makes me as jumpy as a cat on a hot tin roof! That I can stay well informed by this channel helps me to calm down a bit so for that I say thank you.
@@nancybyrd2221 well if it just stays a category 1… it shouldn’t be too bad… just gonna have a lot of tree branches everywhere and maybe power outages and probably flooding in Houston… Hopefully it doesn’t get stronger
@@slamfire6005 It's the flooding that scares the beejeebers out of me! Thanks for your reassuring words. God bless ya!
@nancybyrd2221 Harvey caused PTSD in everyone...I get it. Knowing this storm isn't anywhere as strong and hopefully better technology for forecasting since then...that should be rest-assuring.
@@awarr8583 thank you for your reassurance! 👍
Good morning! From Katy TX. Been nervously preparing. Hope everyone is safe from the storm to come. God bless you all 🙏
Good afternoon, David Reimer. We did get some rain and thunder and lightning last night in San Antonio, Texas. we do have some clouds going by. And some sun too. Thank you for the updates appreciated. It's on the border of San Antonio, but still getting some rain grateful for it.😊. God bless you, David, and your family. And your listeners too. I am praying 🙏 for those who are in the path of the hurricane 🌀 🙏. Take care. Love ❤️ all😊

The rain dome over Austin is so strong it deflects a hurricane.
Our rain dome strikes again
lol!
It's some kind of combination of san antonio's loop 1604 and austin's dome put together
Best thing about central texas is that we rarely get devastating weather like other regions in texas.

BIG BERYL ROUNDUP!
Ugh, in port lavaca. We get a thunderstorm and the power goes out. Been waiting for the last second to see what it does. Probably gonna go visit some family in Austin.
Thank you David for no BS-hype just the facts and common sense info- yes I know common sense is rare these days...

Lumberton, TX here. Good morning. And we don't need any more rain. Village Creek has flooded 4 times since April.
I used to live there. I am sure the ground is saturated.
@@patriciamiller3850 it sure is!
Meanwhile out this way near Austin there's places the ground is cracking again
@@hohooooooooify here in San Antonio, too.

All forecasts for Bexar county and surroundings are consistently wrong if they call for rain. The predictions about Beryl have been sidelined by what the experts said "might happen, but unlikely"
Once again, Central Texas left out. Getting old.
@@donausmus4281 exactly
Even worse west of you. Getting occasional showers but this is the 5th summer of this drought. I heard Midland is in the 12th year of lower than average rainfall.
I was sad watching this thing moving farther and farther east if Austin.
Howdy, abilene.
Keep that great calm voice, so nice.

I live 30 minutes from Surfside Beach, no one has been asked to evacuate anywhere else besides the beach. My concern is that it might intensify as it’s landing and everyone will all be asleep ..

Sadly San Antonio gets snuffed for rain 😢😢
I'm so sorry about the drought causing it. Medina lake is terribly low and it's 2% full that's what I've heard.
I'm here in Richmond,Tx just west of Houston so I'm more concerned with the power outages because of my small children than I am of the flooding.
Hi everyone from Conroe, Texas!
Appreciate you, Chief. I’m in southeast Texas, a little north of Beaumont. Thank you for always keeping us posted and not sugar coating anything. Just giving it to us real and honest. That’s what we need. Thank you for all you do!

We are here in Tomball.
It's good that the Derecho already took out many of the weak trees. But those winds were blowing south. It looks like north blowing winds for us from this one.
Many people just got their roofs fixed and the fences replaced. So I guess we are ready?
Could have minor damages, but the storm will hopefully weaken in time before it gets to that derecho damaged swath
Thank you for a very good weather report, have a Bless day.
Hit that thumbs 👍🏼
I'm homeless from Pasadena TX but I'm supposed to move to a hotel but am stuck in a padsplit room that can lose power and WiFi and I don't know if the house has a generator. I'm 50! Years old widower and disabled and struggling. Please pray for my safety and I will get enough help that the padsplit host is very uncaring trying to get me out without money or food. I'm having panic attacks from the last storm in May and it was 4 days without WiFi.
You are homeless and worded about WiFi. I have never had WiFi and I’m almost 72 . I make it pretty well. LOL
Geez, even when there's a tropical or low hurricane, we still can't get rain in San Antonio😂
