Matt, I think this is one of the first no lumbering videos I've seen you do. Gotta say, its really, really nice following along with you in how and why you are doing this or that. Also nice that you edit it so well that I don't have to lunge for volume control, and spend time on things that need time to show/explain, and abbreviate those that are more commonly understood. Also nice that it seems to move at a nice clip and you don't seem to be trying to extend run time for YT monetization.

We love your videos young man... My wife and I been together 48yrs and married 46yrs... You are extremely talented as well as skillful and most of all your attention to detail is 2nd to none... Keep it up and you do have a Beautiful Family... Bless You !!!
Beautiful build Matt, great to see a build video!! Happy watching all your content but builds are the premium!! Stay safe Lindsay kids and your good self!!!
I am so amazed with each new project. Matt, what you enjoy as a challenge is an OMG thing for me. I hve no idea where to begin, and once it's started It is very lucky to get finished. Great job on a beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing.
Super job Matt, lots of thought and fantastic work went into the garden bench. May you and your family have many years of enjoyment on that bench. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
The method you used to create mortices in the curved back of the bench was very helpful to me, I have been wondering how to do the same for a while now, great solution. Good work, fine video.
Hey Matt, Awesome build, one to be proud of, it looks great! One would think you knew what you were doing, just kidding, in light of recent events. You are an amazing craftsman. One of my favorite subscriptions. All the best from Oregon, be safe, C.
5:18 this was really interesting. I've always steered away from mortises joining inside the leg because I thought it would be weak. This opens up possibilities!
Beautiful! I am excited about the thermally mod. I bought my sawmill for this species and preserve as much of the lumber as I can. Built with an extinct species? Yes pretty much.
I thought I was done buying routers. I hold you personally responsible for putting me over the edge. All of my research lead me to the Triton. Today you showed what I have been telling my self I don’t really need. Thanks....Does it perform as sweet as it looked in today’s post?
Very nice! That looked quite tedious. But the outcome was worth it. I've got a few pieces of ash I picked up recenly. Still unsure what I'm gonna use it for. It may become the bottom portion of our bathroom vanity.
Very nice project. How much more costly is this thermally modified ash over regular kiln dried ash? I enjoy your videos a lot and hope you keep up the fine work.
Matt, it a nice video. Full of joy as all your videos 😀 A couple of questions if possible. What is the with of the bench? And why the lower crest rail has a continious slot and dividing inserts while the upper rail has separately routed mortises? Could you have made continious slots in both rails instead?
This bench has subtle curves that must make it very comfortable, maybe one day I will learn to make mortises and tenons that align perfectly like you seem to be making so easy, even with those subtle angles...too much for me, I never can align something so perfect! Great job...question ; How many hours it took yo to make this awesome bench?
Straight Grain ≠ Matt Cremona. Are you feeling okay? Maybe you need go and lie down for a while... Great looking piece, Matt! I've never worked with teak oil, it sure brought out the colour!
A ton of work, beautiful outcome, nice video. Shades of new yankee, I felt nostalgic and awed at the same time. Great work, Matt, both on the project and the video. If your wife gets to keep this one, I hope she truly appreciates the effort needed to make one of these to those standards. Not just raw hours, but the talent and planning that goes into one-off fine furniture.
Hey Matt, I once commissioned a carpenter to build me a SouthWestern Tit-a-tat. It looked much like your bench, but with a tray in the middle, separating the 2 users. We used the stationary tray for placing our drinks but ESPECIALLY for holding an ashtray for smokers. The side arm rests had a round opening, with a catch underneath, for holding our beers. It lasted about 15 years in our hot Arizona sun. Just wanted to share that memory with you. Stay safe and healthy.
Matt,,, have you seen a video by Yoshiro Sasada ??? oh the logs he cuts' into slab in Japan... I believe He imports Logs from I guess every part in the world... Just watched his vlog on a question to respond to the species of Timber he is cutting...
I am kind of surprised that with all the drying hardwood in your backyard you went and bought ash treated wood for your needs. What's the explanation ?
Nice Work, Matt! Did you go to school for woodworking or just start tinkering one day to get to where you are? I have recently got into woodworking and certainly admire the work you do! Helps to know you are a fellow Minnesotan too!

Ah, perfect!!! I have been wanting to build a classic English garden bench in teak since forever!! Matt, you're a great inspiration.
Thank you!
Super job Matt, lots of thought and fantastic work went into the garden bench. May you and your family have many years of enjoyment on that bench. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Thanks Fred!
Looks pretty awesome Matt.
For one so young, you are incredibly talented. Beautiful.
I won’t be young forever :)
Man that thermally modified stuff really puts off some fine sawdust.
yeah you really have to wear a dust mask. Its way worse than mdf
Great bench! I love those Menards' clamps!
Thanks!!
That is a beautiful bench, and the video is very professionally done. Great job.
it is almost depressing how good your woodworking skills are :-))) what a great project
hahahahaha that's some compliment :D
The method you used to create mortices in the curved back of the bench was very helpful to me, I have been wondering how to do the same for a while now, great solution. Good work, fine video.
LOOKING GOOD MATT. Now all ya need is a garden.
hahaha right!

Lovely piece of art enjoy your summer evenings relaxing with a beer
5:18 this was really interesting. I've always steered away from mortises joining inside the leg because I thought it would be weak. This opens up possibilities!
It came out just beautiful!
I defonitely want to make one. Congrats Matt
thank you!
Best part of this video is at 14:23. Look how happy you are!
That's a very handsome bench.
thanks!
Great video Matt...Paul in the UK

thank you!
Awesome work Matt, great looking bench! 😃👌🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred!
Very nice Matt.
thanks!
Your a real craftsman. Thanks for the videos.
Nice project.
Beautiful! I am excited about the thermally mod. I bought my sawmill for this species and preserve as much of the lumber as I can. Built with an extinct species? Yes pretty much.
Bought this in the guild after watching this video. Well done my friend
Thanks Scott!
Amazing and satisfying video! Thanks, Matt!
thanks!
Man, that saw is powerful. My contractor saw would get really bogged down cutting that thick wood so quickly.
So you would leave that fantastic piece of furniture in the garden for the elements ( sun , rain , snow )to play on and make it withered ?
I thought I was done buying routers. I hold you personally responsible for putting me over the edge. All of my research lead me to the Triton. Today you showed what I have been telling my self I don’t really need. Thanks....Does it perform as sweet as it looked in today’s post?
yeah I love it. The rack and pinion plunge has ruined traditional plunge for me.
It was about 30% more. Thanks!
Great job, looks awesome and I learned a few things. Thanks Matt
thanks!
Thermally modified sounds like my wife's version of cooking. "it's not burnt... It's thermally modified..." 😏
Nice looking bench ya' got there! 😇😎
thanks!
excellent job !!!
thanks!
Thank you for sharing. Great video.
thanks!
Matt, it a nice video. Full of joy as all your videos 😀

ayeeeee look at that Katz Moses stop block!
Very nice man 👌🏻
thanks!
they need to make the next norm abrams the one for this generation.
Norm would be proud.
Did that base come with that router? Awesome build.
Yes; thanks!
Well done, awesome
Wow, not bad for a trailer builder. ;)
hahahaha thanks!

Great job...question ; How many hours it took yo to make this awesome bench?
thank you! hard to separate woodworking time from the total video production time but I'd guess this would be a 15-20 hour project.
@@mcremona OK...so it it takes you, a TOP GUN, 15 to 20 hours...it would take me 15 to 20 full days...lolllll...Thanks for the info!
I like t take a flat rasp to my tenons to round them off, seems to go a little faster.
A compass plane. Who knew. Usually that type of smoothing gets done with a template piece and a flush trim router bit.
But how does the template get perfectly made? ;)
super-enjoyable. many tx
Nice!
thanks!
Is there any advantage to making a double tenon? Does it add any additional strength as opposed to a larger single tenon?
It doubles the glue surface.
what was that jig you used for the mortises who made it nice bench lovely grain :)
little weak how many of these do you see in a park
What’s the benefit to using thermally modified wood? Zero shrinking due to no inner moisture? 🤔🤷♂️
Hi matt quality stuff as always although the back looks too high to my taste.
Do keep safe
thanks!
👌👌
Wife: "Hey Matt, we're doing pretty good at the bank, maybe it's time for a new truck?"
Matt: "Nah, I want a garden bench."
Wife: ????
Utilitarian??? Don't use them new fangled big words. My brain will break. You make it look easy, sure is beautiful.
hahahaha
Where is everyone? Dead from CoVid 19?
I like how you put a “thicknesser” sticker over “planer”,had a giggle.
I feel like that "cut all the mortises in 12 minutes" comment was aimed at all the "Why didn't you just use the Domino?" folks.
no comment
And the fact that Triton would not allow it.
Your overdub reminds me of Norm Abram on "the New Yankee Woodshop" Oh yeah beautiful job.
Needs more safety glasses
One of my favorite part of these videos is to see the various stages of the Cremona Hair. #Cremonahair
I love the tip about epoxy on the feet to keep from absorbing moisture. Great video and build.
Look at that Katz Moses stop being brandished :)
right in your face!
Highly enjoyable to see you creating this handsome bench using skillful mortise and tenon techniques. Congratulations Matt.
What is the price premium for thermally modified over regular kiln dried? 10% 25%?
25%
Straight Grain ≠ Matt Cremona. Are you feeling okay? Maybe you need go and lie down for a while...
Great looking piece, Matt! I've never worked with teak oil, it sure brought out the colour!
hahaha thanks Art!

It's been awhile since your last project video. Thanks for sharing, Matt.

Hiii Matt I looked at your website but i cant find that plans i would like to buy them in pdf if possible....
Thank you.

It's not dead. It's resting..or hybernating if you so like.
Noice.
thanks!
Hi matt its very nice hope to see more looks nicer than the church seats - may be you do one with some engraving or text on the seat looks nice
That is some beautiful wood. It's almost a shame to put a tinted stain on it. I love all the sfx closed captions.
woodworking is calling me and i am not able to stop the attraction.
Nice bench. Pretty complex joinery
Very nice and made very well
Its fantastic garden bench
Eat your heart out, Norm Abrams!!
@15:15 we see where Matt dumps his sawdust

Gorgeous bench
Really nice build
Nice job man wow!
Beautiful!

Wow!!!!

Wanted to try thermally modified wood
Nice Work, Matt! Did you go to school for woodworking or just start tinkering one day to get to where you are? I have recently got into woodworking and certainly admire the work you do! Helps to know you are a fellow Minnesotan too!
Started woodworking as a hobby while I was in college and it quickly consumed my life. Thanks!
