One viewer asked for sound level tests so here they are... under full load on the performance setting it was averaging about 51.8 dB and when I switched it to the middle/cool setting it was averaging about 48.7 dB
Thanks Crosyph, really happy with this laptop! For 1K the g14 is an absolute steal too, but for me like I mentioned 14.5" is the minimum size I'm willing to use.
Thanks for this! I appreciate very much your thoughts on using it over several months. There aren't a lot of videos on it other than the ones around the time of release and they all seem to be reviewed upon opening the box. With the updated drivers you mentioned, did you think the improvements you saw were due to the studio drivers specifically or because the gaming drivers were so outdated? It's interesting that you saw improved FPS in a few games. I ordered a used slim pro 9i off ebay for a pretty good price and was figuring on switching to gaming drivers. This laptop is hard to find for sale. Best Buy has them for 1399 today. Not a single 4060 I could find anywhere so I got 4050 on and I think that will be fine honestly. I mostly cloud game. Anyway, thanks again!
Glad it was helpful! I think a big difference in performance was just because they were outdated for sure. If you do any productivity tasks I'd still recommend going with the studio drivers but honestly the game drivers will work just fine too. It's really a great little laptop, packs quite a punch! How are you liking yours so far?
@@VladimirKostek Still waiting on delivery. Should be here today. Good to know on the drivers. I may just keep the drivers how ever they are already except for making sure they're updated! Thanks again for making the great review.
That's a great question, I should have incorporated that into the review but I couldn't find my tool at the time. I finally found my sound level meter and pinned a comment on top if you'd like to see. Putting it there as I'm sure it will be useful for others as well!

Can you please comment regarding the blooming effect of the MiniLED screen? If you have dark mode and white text, or white mouse, does it bother you that there are dimming zone squares that light up if its noticeable? thanks
Hi I am confuse between the Lenovo 9i slim pro 14.5 inches and the Zenbook 14x OLED (UX3404) with the RTX 3050, which one do you recommend? I want a laptop for college with good performance and battery life.
Thanks for the review, just wondering if the performance setting (Battery saving, Intelligent cooling & Extreme performance) in Lenovo Vantage override the power mode settings in windows 11?
That's actually something I should have mentioned, good point! The answer is no unfortunately, so for example if i have it in battery mode in vantage (fn + q) it won't put windows 11 in battery saving for example, i have to set both to battery saving for the best longevity. I don't know why they don't sync, I can relay that to my contact there. Mildly annoying but not a dealbreaker imo. Same is true for performance mode if win11 is in battery saving, it won't turn it off just tried.
Hi there, great review video, have you ever notice the battery still draining while you playing game even it's still plugged in to the 140W charger? My yoga pro 9i battery still draining while i'm gaming. Thanks
Yes I have tried a few zenbooks. I'll be doing a long term review of the zenbook duo (2024) version...I also did a pros cons vid of the previous duo. Are you looking for a specific size?
I would love the yoga pro 9i 2024 but unfortunately that is a 16” screen which might be too big for school. Do you recommend this laptop or the Asus Zenbook pro 14 with a 4070?
Hey Tyler, I'm actually typing on the 16" from this year right now haha. That's a tough call for sure, two weekends ago I was with a friend who had that laptop and I had the 14" from this video and we were comparing and playing halo. It was cool had them side by side and the Mini-LED was great. Asus is a beast too, only downside he mentioned is armoury crate and the proprietary power cable. Also consider if the .5" diff will be big or not for you for school. Hope that helps!
I talked to a kid I know who goes to the college I’m going to and he said he has a 15.5 inch and doesn’t have any problems with portability at all and said a lot of his classmates also have bulky gaming computers… soooi went with this laptop the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16” haha. @@VladimirKostek I’ve used my Lenovo yoga pro 9i for a few days and the touchpad has a clicking noise near the bottom middle of the touchpad when I click in certain spots. Is that normal or is it a faulty unit? You are the only UA-camr who responds to comments lol so I thought I’d come back to this vid to ask. The clicking is seriously annoying me and if that’s normal for this model then I might have to return it and get the asus zenbook pro 14 instead

I have actually been testing the 16" Yoga Pro 9i recently, i really like the numpad and the better battery life on this years version! It is slightly heavier but not unwieldy by any means.
What would you say if we compare Yoga9 pro and Legion7i 9 gen ? Could it be a rival? I'm afraid Legion will be to noisy for me... And things with overheating as well..
I've been using the Yoga 9 pro for a few months now and will do a review of it soon. It's a great laptop, the legion is a bit chunkier and doesn't have touchscreen. Still a good laptop tho
