I remember netbooks. So I know that windows handhelds have the potential to destrot this industry altogether. Windows didn't bring "more competition" to netbooks. It wiped them and turned them into slightly smaller laptops that weren't as good as laptops.
Great interview! I will add that battery tech is holding back these larger handhelds. Maybe swappable batteries would work that can be charged separately as well. How sweet would it be to play for 3-6 hours and then swap out with a freshie!
I think there will always be be a demand to emulate the next system. A lot of games have been remastered for other systems too. I think the compelling drive behind it all is to be able to play all your old games on one device… for free (sort of).
I'd love to see more dedicated devices that are system specific. For example a vertical device with a GB/GBC resolution screen and a nice big two button layout for A/B instead of the relatively tiny ABYX layout, which you don't really need for GB/GBC/GBA. Or a dedicated GBA horizontal. There always seems like a few too many compromises with the devices. I can't complain, though, I really enjoy the MIyoo Mini with MiniUI as a super portable system that does everything I want. But I don't see the RG355X and Miyoo Mini+ as good enough GBC form factor replacements. The missing chin space... I guess growing up with a GameBoy DMG and GBC and that really high quality and durability and it just seems to sit right in the hand... Anyway, I like the podcast, this is a cool idea. I haven't seen a lot of podcasts about these devices so there might be a niche here. I think some timestamps with links would be cool in the future to browse through the major topics.
Hey there. I’m in two minds regarding timestamps for the podcast. Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to be building myself a GBC and making a video about it soon…
Nice, I saw a few people talking about the FPGBC kit and it looks pretty neat, will be interested to see compatibility with Everdrive, that seems like the running question, some people are having trouble with it, something with the firmware@@adinwalls
Aloha, Aiden first off. I just want to say I love your videos. You’re doing an awesome job and I’m looking forward Too many more and future👍🏼 question I want to start a UA-cam channel on techie stuff and I’ve been thinking about this for 10 years as well. Is there any way you can guide me to the best tutorial that would be wonderful thank you kindly have a blessed day.🙏🏻😃
Hey there. There are so many UA-cam guides but I honestly didn’t find them very helpful. I think because each niche is different. As mentioned in this vid with Rob, a trait I have seen to be very common is hyper focussing in a device. Almost every person who has done well did this. Which is convenient because then you just need to buy one device and focus on it for a few months. I think the other lesson from all my interviewees is a clear brand message, who are you? What is your “voice”? And then you can start looking at the other things like titles and thumbnails.
I'm on record as wishing RTD was my Dad. I want it even more now! Awesome to get to know the Man behind the Hands.
I think we all secretly feel this way
Thank you so much for having me on as a guest! I really enjoyed my time just talking to you. 🤗🤗
Same here. Thank so much, Rob.
Fantastic episode, Dad & Adin! Enjoyed the stories and knowledge bombs. - stubbs
Thank you uncle Stubbs

lol yes netbooks were useful for many but absolutely awful pieces of tech.
Great interview!

That’s a fair point!
Would be even better if they had a small 800mah internal battery, so you could swap the larger packs without shutting down the system
@@fluxcap4630 I think we are onto something.. reminds me of power tools with interchangeable batteries
Oh yeah I'm always up for some more tech daddy content!
Rob is a class act
Great start to a new season. Rob is the best 🙂
What a great interview. Koodos to both of u. Rob is a fantastic guy and makes great content, as do u, Adin.
Thanks for checking it out!
Excited to listen to this one!
Great, hope you enjoy it. Rob’s, a good dude 😊
Always great to hear you chatting guys! Now go ask Bob Wulff to join for season 2 😆
Ugh a guy can dream.
31:00 does anyone actually want to run PS3 games, tho? I mean, the few good ones are constantly getting "remastered" or "remade" anyway.

@@adinwalls thank you Adin Much Much appreciated. Can I use a iPhone and do I have to do editing?
