"The end of slavery" caused a decline of the kingdoms you mean and NOT slavery caused a decline... Because you narrator just said earlier that the kingdom(s) profited from slave trade.

White men believing to be superior of all earths humans, were such horrible orks in those days. Is it better now ??? Go ask. Yes of course, but no at the same time. I am a feminism (my mum and both grandmas too). I would not have lasted less than a day.
Such videos are a must for history. To let the rest of us learn of what really happened. Thank you for have taken the time to tell us the stories of the ancestors of this beautiful country, Nigeria.

Your people are wicked, greedy entities that created separation between African people that they have never overcome.

Just want to point out that they were wrong about the name of the trading company. It was first known as the Royal Niger company. Eventually changing its name to United African company before becoming a subsidiary of Unilever. George Goldie sold the land to Britain for £865,000 back then. Nigeria from then and till now has always been a business transaction.

Good to hear this, but I think the system of government we have as at that time is more better than this days every kingdom has its own system of government well understood by its citizens

Who are we fooling? Nigerian is far from being independent. Nit when the ruler is always determined by the English. Not when most Nigerian still want to sound, act and dress up like the English. We have a long way to go.

Next time be thorough in your research, as it was the Dahomey Kingdom (present day Republic of Benin 🇧🇯) that were known prolific slave traders. The movie the “woman king” , was about their prosperous slave trade until its collapse. The Benin Empire (kingdom) in present day Nigeria 🇳🇬, was NOT involved in any slavery. The Oba of Benin 🇳🇬 , traded with the Portuguese long before the British got to know of the empire. As a matter of fact the Oba sent some of his chiefs, to school in Portugal (you can see this documented in the Portuguese museum) as part of the bilateral relations with both people. These information is public, and just a little research will yield much. Your video made it look like it was the Benin Empire (🇳🇬) that was involved in slavery, I needed to correct that misinformation.

Except Benin was in fact involved in the slave trade.

In pre colonial times Benin kingdom was a slave raiding, slave holding and slave trading society. The Obas of Benin SOLD tens of thousands of their prisoners of war to the Europeans at the coast.
You just said it that Benin was trading with Portugal for centuries. It is a well known fact that the Portuguese bought more slaves than the British, french, Spanish and Dutch ever did from Africa.
If not in slaves, what were the Portuguese and Benin trading on?
Oba of Benin MUST pay for reparations, for the dark role his cruel ancestors played in the transatlantic slave trade.

The British did not invade Nigeria. The British was invited into Nigeria by one the rulers of Nigeria. Those rulers then gave the people to the British to do as they like. The British then were given Nigeria as their slave plantation.

I don't know if you did ur research well or not but the way you so legalised british creation of Nigeria is what is mind boggling as if they created Nigeria for the benefit of the indigenous people in Nigeria, The way you used the fact that they invaded Lagos and environs to "stop slavery" is another useless bullshit, how can you be upgrading the lies of your colonial oppressors? I don't even dim it necessary to start analysing one by one this jargon you did here but please BRITAIN COLONISED NIGERIA TO BE ABLE TO APPROPRIATELY EXPLOIT AND EXTORT NIGERIANS RESOURCES AND CONTROL THE REGION THEY NEVER DID FOR THE INTERESTS OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE, so to hell with that they stopped slavery and other barbaric practices rubbish

While we appreciate your workdone, it's also important to point out areas of improvement.
You are leaving out important details that will interest majority of your audience at the expense of your biased historical analysis. Meanwhile, be mindful of the credibiility of what you share more than what you care.
DO NOT FILTER AWAY HISTORICAL FACTS TO JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THEM.
