Is it normal for it to be hard as hell to zip up to wear once completed?

I wouldn’t adjust how tight the zipper is until you put the boot on and zip them up. Everyone has different sized calves and if you cut the ends and commit before adjustment…well

How is the sizing on these? should I order my normal size or size up or down?

Mine fit pretty true to size. I personally prefer a half size bigger. The best thing is to go in person and try them on.

It's literally two overhand knots and he cuts the slack off
