    I have used a few other printers that have delivered horrible products and customer service---Ka-Blam is NOT one of them! They are awesome! I have printed with them since 2012 and haven't even thought of using other printers just because their products and customer service are so AMAZING! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 😃😍🥰

    They print my books and I agree that the quality is fantastic! Anytime someone asks me about them, I just hand them one of my books to look at. The sketch covers are already really great. I haven't ordered a lot of them (25ish) at this point, but plan to order more in the future!

      Roland Mann how much do you sell your comics for? Since your not buying in bluk?

      Do you sell in person or off your website or do you sell your books via Amazon?

      I sell the 24 page comics for $5 at conventions. I use IndyPlanet for my "online" orders.

    Thanks for the review. What were the dimensions of the border you had to create? And is it better to be black or white? Would black look more like a finished page even if the borders are not always consistent whereas white would look like the page wasn't printed on?
    Also, does some of the black border go into the blue safe area of the Kablam standard template or is it mostly in the yellow margin area and red trim line?
    If Kablam were just doing a print run for you but not distributing, then how do you get it onto Amazon? If someone ordered from Amazon, would Kablam be able to print on demand to fulfil that order? Thanks.

    So Kablam is more for issues/chapters than it is for volumes. The colors look like it came out very vivid. Might be good for some oneshots

    Thanks for making this, it's so hard to find info on final products and uploading processes. I'm curious though, where did you get that awesome shirt?

    Can I talk to you about Ka-Blam? Now that it's 2019? Like... can I ask you questions?

    Love the review, wanted to know how much you sell each comic for ? Especially since you don't have the bulk discount.

    Thanks for this review! Very thurough, and precise. I may have to skip Ka-blam then. I'm currently making a graphic novel, and since it's going to be about 150 pages I estimate), but that upload procedure is a massive turnoff. Since they do a lot of work, they definitely should have had the money, and resources to correct some of their sites issues, but that's neither here nor there. Overall great video!

    How long does usually it take to print and be shipped to you? And is there a way you could speed up the printing?

    I use it for cutting practice with milk jugs to entertain my kids.

    Great review! I've been considering Ka-Blam for the print version of my comic. I am curious as to if they allow printing on the inside of the front and back covers, and if so, are there any specific layout requirements, or if it is simply treated as the first page?

    • @AmyLeighStrickland
      @AmyLeighStrickland  9 років тому

      +tristikov They do allow printing inside the covers, and they have no layout requirements. You upload each file one at a time and add a comment to label it, so it's not page one. You label it inside cover front.

      +Amy Leigh Strickland Good to know, thank you. For the double page spreads, I gather that they prefer a single image of the two combined pages--is this correct in your experience? I'd like to do a double page spread of the inside cover and interior page 1, which will be a credits page.

    • @AmyLeighStricklandReadInk
      @AmyLeighStricklandReadInk 9 років тому

      +tristikov Yes, they want any page that isn't part of a continuous spread to be separate, and any spreads uploaded and labeled with which pages they are (such as 10 & 11)

    Thanks for the review! It was really helpful. I have one question, say you choose for example 24 pages, does that mean you have 24 pieces of paper (aka pages...) with 48 sides or does that mean you have 12 pieces of paper (aka pages) with 24 sides? So in your case do you have 44 or 22 actual pages (I hope this makes sense...)? I really hope someone will answer. I'm planning on using Ka-Blam and I can't really figure this out...

    • @AmyLeighStrickland
      @AmyLeighStrickland  8 років тому +1

      44 pages is 44 sides of pages not counting the cover. So 22 pieces of paper.

    So i think that your review alone is probably why they have updated the website, i now has all the parts that just make sense. What are your feelings about the website 2+ years later

      I haven't had anything printed since, so I'll have to take a look.

    Hey I've accidentally placed an order without any pages because i didn't know where to submit my pages. I was able to put the order on hold so would that mean my order be canceled or is it on hold for now until later date? will they still charge me even if i never process that hold order?

    The only thing im worried about is copyrighting, how do i know that these guys wont try to steal my art of comic?

    • @AmyLeighStricklandReadInk
      @AmyLeighStricklandReadInk 9 років тому +2

      +BlueHart13 I think anyone could steal your art. They do a lot of business and they've been around for a few years, so I think the odds of them stealing are pretty low (it's not worth their business). You're more likely to have some stranger on the internet get your comic and steal a page than this company, IMHO.

    When checking Indyplanet I got a warning in firefox: "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead"
    Seems to be the site certificate. Good info, thanks!
    Edit: Site seems to be down "Error establishing a database connection"
