Knee injuries man. Having had 5 ACL reconstructions on my left knee alone. “What could have been” is a painful experience. Mad respect for Gurley. I hope he can find happiness after competition 🙏
One of the silly things that make it seem like Gurley played so long ago is that he was on the Rams when they were in St Louis and their uniforms were a lot different
Da crazy stat about Todd Gurley is that he is has most touchdowns since 2015 with 88 n hasn’t in da NFL since 2020 which shows u how crazy this guy was in his prime ‼️💯
It’s crazy how short of a career running backs have. We are getting to the point where Derrick Henry , dalvin cook and Joe mixon are gonna be washed in a year or 2
Especially with the Rams, I knew about the injuries, and the knee and that he only played a short time, but I thought he could be good, for a longer time.
I’m happy for a change of pace video. Not saying that this is a happy one but in some people’s eyes it may be but not having to cover tragedy or heartbreak or struggle stories for a minute definitely feels good. You’re one of the best on here FlemLo!💯
Todd tore his knee up against Auburn his last year and wasnt the same since. He was a backup during his freshman year but the first time he touched a ball at UGA, he housed it for six. Gurley re-established RBU at UGA and paved the way for Nick Chubb, D. Swift, James Cook, Zeus, and Sony Michel. God bless you Todd and THANK YOU for everything you've done for the state of Georgia. A *damn good dawg* in all respects.
Yup. I’m a Bama fan but I remember that like it was yesterday. It was on a kickoff, no? I remember most UGA folks being excited about Keith Marshall from the 2012 class. I still say to this day the best two teams in the country played in the 2012 NC game. We obviously destroyed ND but UGA would’ve as well. Todd Gurley and Marshawn Lattimore were the only two RB’s that have gotten 100+ yards rushing on Bama while playing against us as a freshmen since the dynasty started. To put that in prospective, the best RB this year, Bijan Robinson, only had around 57 yards on 22/23 carries. I know the average came out to 2.7 yards per carry on us this year. He’s a Jr. That’s how special Gurley and Lattimore were.
@@FlemLoRaps, Can you do a video on what happened to Hakeem Nicks? I saw him do one year with the Colts and then he vanished. Rumor was that he did a tryout for the XFL so i don’t know if he is officially retired or what. I just would like to know. Love your content, homie. Keep grinding!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
If Todd Gurley is healthy the Rams win that Super Bowl…and I wish he had been on the roster last season…he deserves a ring…you see his Jersey all over SoFi!
I grew up a St. Louis Rams fan and a Florida Gators fan so i got to watch him b4 the NFL he was a stud he made thos 3-13 seasons fun to watch i still want a Gurley jersey
Great video! TGIII is top 3 of my favorite UGA RBs and and NFL RBs. Seeing players get these NIL deals after he got hemmed up for things that are permissible now, just really sucked. Thank you for putting in the time on him and clearing the air without much speculation. Have you made one or considered making one on his stablemate Keith Marshall? That’s a really sad story.
Really hate what happened to Gurly, he was from close to my hometown Edenton NC he played in Tarboro we played them in high-school, he was a hometown hero, hope things go good for him, Atleast he got the bag before it ended!!
Injury is a fickle thing. Hell, I remember when Gurley was being recruited out of high school. He was actually a lower profile recruit than RB Keith Marshall when they went into UGA. Marshall was the Gatorade player of the year for North Carolina their senior year, not Gurley. Marshall had a fine college career too but a bad season ending injury his sophomore year hit Marshall's career earlier than Gurley's did. Gurley went on to be picked 10th overall in 2015. Marshall went in the 7th round in 2016 even after running the fastest 40 at the combine. Considering it's just a matter of when, not if a football player at the highest level gets hurt, it's just wild how fortunes are made and lost based not only on how bad the injuries are but when they happen.
Meet him my homie played with him when the rams were still in stl hung out a couple times like at the players hotels dude was the most down to earth humble normal dude and this was at the height of his stardom. I met a few nfl players and stars not all them was chill like tg3
Todd was a Monster!I havent seen a running back like him since Gayle Sayers,Jim Brown, or O.J. Slaughterman ,if you watch his Georgia tapes, you watch how physical he was, linebackers and Safeties bouncing off his thigh pads, unreal, but once you mess your knees up ,and they dont heal properly, thats it,he had so much left!Heartbreaking, hopefully he doesn't fall into depression❤
He can still play!! He wasn’t terrible in ATL! He averaged 3.5 there which is too bad, give the man 250 touches a year at 3.5 - 3.7 YPC he finishes with 900 yards for the season. Just needs the right team who doesn’t need him to be the work horse (KC, cHargers, Giants etc)
Feel gurleys was more cuz of health with the knee arthritis and tho akers is coming off an Achilles, it seems his issue w the rams isn’t health based but the rams been keeping so quiet ab it we really couldn’t know rn
Can you just imagine how scary that Rams team would have been now if his knee would have held up you would have to deal with Stafford Gurley Kupp and more man I wish his knee would have held up
For every crazy story of healing like Adrian Peterson there's 3 like this :/ it sucks to see but Gurley seems to be at peace and doing great so that's always a great thing to see for any former athlete. Leaving the game can be a hard transition.
I kept hoping that he would be able to ball out in Atlanta in front of his " hometown crowd ". Glad to see the man is making money making commercials and such.
Flem what kinda magic are you on. I was just wondering what was up with Gurley (I don’t follow football like y’all lol). Then poof, new upload on him. 👀 🐐
I've known not to pay a RB long term since Shaun Alexander. He was a work horse and after he got paid he laid in the shade. They called it a Madden curse but I say once you have 100 million you no longer want to get hit for cash.
Another insightful banger! 💥 How about Percy Harvin's story sometime in the near future?? Man could ball and I remember him all the way from High School, I bet you might too!
FlemLo! Mr. "Que the Wayne" , this might be a dumb question, but have you ever done or considered doing NBA versions of your documentaries? Love your content.
The Falcons were sooooiooo hyped when they signed him. Myself, includes. Ever since the '98 Superbowl season, the Falcons have been in the hunt to be a "Runningback factory" (to mimic the Denver Broncos success, from the same season).
Nothing like playing a sport in HS . I didn't go to college but it appears to be fun . I'm in my 40's and my knees are good. It's good to see that he's good : he made his money and is still healthy . Good follow up ✌🏾
Hes my favorite player of all time, its such a shame his prime was so short. I was at the uga auburn game when he came back off of suspension, btw give this man his games back, most electrifying moment in my sports memory. It was a 7:30 kick off and he was kick returner and pacing back and forth in the end zone. He takes it to the house, it was called back but that moment had the sandford stadium louder than Ive ever heard.
TG is the personification of the idea that you don't pay RBs big 2nd contracts. It's been a known thing for over a decade, basic GM 101. There are few exceptions, and most smart fans new the contract was a dud when it was offered way too early and unnecessarily by Snsad.
@FlemLo, when are you going to do a video of Corey Dillon??? He was "Beast Mode" long before Marshawn, and he played for your Bengals and my Patriots!!!
