Nikhil Rao in this video sir gave us a example in which sir varied current according as emf to get a constant voltage in output. My confusion is that does actually current varies in the real circuit according as emf to give constant voltage? Physics doesn't depend on our calculation but our calculation must satisfy physics. Please solve my confusion
@Subham Jena, in normal circuits, as the voltage rises, the current rises PROPORTIONATELY( as they follow ohm's law ), but in semiconductors like zener diode as the volatage rises( beyond a particular value i.e., breakdown voltage ), the current rises EXPONENTIALLY nd thus voltage also drops to a much higher extent. Hope ur doubt is clear brother.
Vaibhav Gupta i understood but i have a doubt. What is the value of the resistance which drops potential? Is there any specific value or arbitrary value ?
Tutorials point you people are really doing a great job providing quality knowledge in this UA-cam platform. So grateful to you. Sir your explanation is simply superb. Thanks a lot for this amazing lecture !
@@bionicpenguin5471 at first some one from the comment section told me that he passed away ...I asked the same to him ...he told me yes..i didn't believe him and in another video another guy replied to sum 1 that he passed ..I think it's true
sir i was not able to understand zener diode whole year but when i saw your video , it cleared all my doubts ........THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! YOU ARE THE BEST
Watch this video at 1.5X or 1.75X it helps save some time. But sir your explaination is fabulous understood all the topics for which i referred your videos.
Thanks a lot sir you are really a genius physics teacher in our country and in my I think you are genius physics teacher in the world your explanation are just same as explanation of Richard Feynman's explanation. Sir you are genius really
Sir g agr him ziyada doping krte hain to ziyada electrons p type mein ayeen ge jis se ziyada ions pida hoon ge jis se K potential barrier bar jaye ga.ab swal ye Paida hota hai k phir silicon ka potential barrier q constan rehta hai
Nicely explained. What will happen if the input voltage is less than Zener voltage? will it regulate it to Zener voltage or allow it to pass through as it is?
While watching this video I have only one question hovering in my mind is that why tihe voltage accross zener diode is constant??(don't say according to vi characteristics)
Sir i have a question If the voltage exceeds breakdown voltage then the zener diode will not offer any resistance and will simply start acting as a wire so why the current will flow through the resistor when it has a simple wire to pass through ?
JAAT if you really want to understand this thing....then read my note patiently.....the concentration of zener diode is very high.....and it operates in breakdown region......you ask if there will breakdown and current leads high then why go to resistor???....my brother we regulate the voltage not temperature......and after breakdown occurring in zener diode....it will act like a constant voltage source......by constant potential difference....we find a current in our circuit....and remember..... although breakdown will occur but it doesn't mean..it is a wire...it regulates the voltage at a constant value.....I hope you got some idea.....if yes ....then please send me ur feedback😇😇😇😇....keep learning
Sir what willhappen if the source voltage will drop from zener volatge .how zener diode can regulate it and make the load volatge constant means equal ener volatge

This is such a great explanation. These lecture series must be recommended to all the higher secondary students.
Best video on this topic on UA-cam so far hats off to Pradeep sir god bless you may you live long
👍👍👍👍thank you sir
When input is leess then break voltage

Nicely explained. What will happen if the input voltage is less than Zener voltage? will it regulate it to Zener voltage or allow it to pass through as it is?
Then current flow through diode is negligiblebelow the breakdown voltage
thank you sir finally understood
Outstanding explanation sir
Superb
best explanation sir
Thank u for ur precious lecture sii
Sir if I use zener in forward.will the voltage constant??
Excellent sir
Thank u sir...I am tired of reading my notes but it is of no use.
While watching this video I have only one question hovering in my mind is that why tihe voltage accross zener diode is constant??(don't say according to vi characteristics)
Sir, zener diode as voltage regulator, Ic 78XX and 79XX series, BJT par bhi lecture provided karwa dijiye, please sir
Tnx so much sir. Content well explained
amazing class.
Nice 👍👍
you got my problem
Outstanding
Awesome sir
I don't understand why the voltage across the zener diode gradually decrese?
Hats off sir👍
Sir i have a question
If the voltage exceeds breakdown voltage then the zener diode will not offer any resistance and will simply start acting as a wire so why the current will flow through the resistor when it has a simple wire to pass through ?
No Bro, Zener diode will resist the flow of current due to junction field

Sir what willhappen if the source voltage will drop from zener volatge .how zener diode can regulate it and make the load volatge constant means equal ener volatge
amazing
Sir.. but u didn't tell us what happens in the pn junction... How breakage of covalent bonds take place..
See in 1.25 speed..
Thank you sir
Sir agar voltage 80 se kum kr de toh kya hoga???
💕so helpful
What happens when E or Zener voltage is less than 10. Then Zener will conduct or not.
How does it work for less than 10
What happens when the given voltage is less than the zener voltage?
No current will flow through Zener allowing the voltage across load to remain the same.
Example level 👌water tank
Thanks sir
