Do your plants have to be heirlooms? And I've heard some gardeners let their cucumbers or squash get really overgrown if they plan to harvest seeds. Do you do that?
They don't necessarily have to be heirloom but if you try to save seeds from hybrids there is potential that the produce won't be the same. I usually do save the seed from my over grown vegetables to make sure the seeds are mature... And lets be honest, we tend to have one or two that get big on us accidentally! 😅
