I learned this game at a friend's house when her grandparents would come to visit. We didn't keep score and we would knock on the table when we were done with our turn. A great way to start a kid on various solitaire games.
Used to play this all the time when I was locked up back in 2006. I'm going to teach this game to my kids when they are older to tell them all my crazy experiences and life lessons.
This brings back memories of playing with my grandparents at their cabin in Big Bear Lake, CA. We played a variation where you could place cards underneath a pile when a space was open
I love this card game! My Grandma taught me this game when I was a little kid. Her & I would play it all the time when I would stay over. Rip Grandma Carm ❤ I miss you!
I work at an assisted living facility, a resident wanted me to play this with her today but I didn't know how. I can't Wait to get to work tomorrow now!!!
I played this game today with my family for the first time. Really enjoyed it! Denifitely not the last time I'm gonna play it. Thank you for this video!
Like a bunch. Of the others my grandmother taught all of her.grandkids this game when we would visit my grandparents in Connecticut that was 50 + years ago.what a treat it was for all.of us very fond memories of.the special, priceless times we shared and will never forget ❤you thank you grandmother 😊, your nostalgic grandchildren ❤
First heard about this game back in high school with my boys when I came in the library and saw them playing. Since then I’ve loved the hell out of this game 🔥
A yo what's good, 'hood!? This is a great presentation of my favorite card game that I had recently learned to play about seven months ago and since then I have quickly become an expert player with my very own great strategy partially taught by others whom have already known how to play. I win more than I lose, either way I always enjoy the rounds ultimately playing for hours on end. I eventually taught one of my siblings and a niece how to play so far and have even downloaded an application for the Android phone in order to pass time meanwhile no one else is available to participate. I have yet to keep score although I have just recently learned from You and another uploader in regards on how to do so. I hope that You also continue to enjoy the game with family and friends in competition. Thank You for the brilliant presentation, ¡Bravo!
Can u move a king that got placed in the set up like in the beginning ? Idk how to word that right lol like can u move a king that’s been placed as one of the four play off piles ?
We learned to play while on vacation last week. The lady who taught us is a caregiver and taught us exactly like the video, draw before playing. We did not keep score 1st one out was winner.
I play a different variant. Players have a card up and others players can hit each other's pile. And the A's go in the corners where you have to play 2,3,4 of the same suit. So it gives the game a sort of attack method! You pile your opponent s pile up!
I do love this game but i still don't understand if u can build cards underneath already laid down cards! Also do u discard when u are done with your round.
Played this game a lot growing up. We had an extra "tuck" rule that I didn't see here. When one of the four side card/piles can be placed on another pile (as in 2:06), and it leaves only 3 piles, the Tuck rule it activated and allows the current player to put cards underneath any of the remaining piles, as long at it still applies to the order. For example at 2:11, if Player Four had a Red 5, they could play it under the Black 4 of the top pile. Then if no more tucking is possible, place any remaining cards in the empty spot, and your turn is over. Wonder if that's just something my family made up to speed the game up?
MassillonJoe yes that would just speed it up so you do t have to put the card in the 4th pile and move the other one over on to it. It is still playing correctly just skipping having to move a whole line of cards around.
Are we required to play a card? Or can we pass? I feel sometimes you don't want play a card since you don't have any more cards in that sequence, and you will just give your opponents options. But then it gets pretty stalematy
I guess, like all games, there are variations to the rules of the game. I remember playing this game (Kings in the Corner) a while back but like the standard game of “Solitaire,” when it came to the stacks in the corners, I was taught they were to be from king down by single suit (like the upper stacks in the game Solitaire), only the initial sides were played in a black & red stacks.
There's the other variation where if you choose not to play or can't, you draw a card then your turn ends. But if you draw a king you immediately place it in the corners but you draw no more.
that would mean someone stuffed up and didn't put down one of their cards when they could've, but then that would also mean that the next card in that row couldn't be put down. This game is just a fun way to re-shuffle the deck, there is no strategy at all.
I have a question, I do not understand how you calculated the number of moves each player played. please let me know how keeping score works, in more detail.
Once you have completed a pile (king all the way to ace) you take the pile out and the space is treated as a wild space. If you are referring to times when an ace is the flipped card then it stays there until it can be moved
What I don't understand is why any player would have a king in thier hand by the end of the game. Wouldn't you put it down as soon as you pick it up? I don't see much strategy for holding on to them.
The reason I hold my king, is because once your opponent has a red queen but you have a full hand to their one card left, I put the king down then the round is over. So says there’s three kings down and you don’t have the queen that means someone else does . So you might as well hold the king until you can win because you can always put the king down to finish your hand when you’re ready.
TheTopazRobot Very unlikely. Try near impossible. From my understanding of the rules only the kings can go in the corners. 4 corners, 4 kings. You can play as many cards as you like so why wouldn't you play the king. The only way i see someone ending a round with a king is if they forgot they had it.
We play you would draw at the end of your play signifying you are done. That way you have to wait till your next turn to play the king. It is more likely you can get stuck with a king that way.
I love this game to but the guy in the video is wrong. You draw a card at the end of your turn, not beginning. Also you collect points. Highest score wins.
I noticed that too also if a king is turned up on a deal it is left in place and the player that goes after the dealer deals is the one that gets to move that King to a corner
I learned this game at a friend's house when her grandparents would come to visit. We didn't keep score and we would knock on the table when we were done with our turn. A great way to start a kid on various solitaire games.
I played with grand parents in 70s.......fun game..... before iPhone disaster
I played this exact way with my grandparents knocking and all!
See
Yeah, I played this with my coworker, and this is the first time I've heard of keeping score
Used to play this all the time when I was locked up back in 2006. I'm going to teach this game to my kids when they are older to tell them all my crazy experiences and life lessons.
Good luck cuh

Amazing..... reading a lot about similar experiences...... usually after lunch or dinner.....family gathered and played card games 💪🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💪
I do the same . Its not changing the rules just saving time by not having to move the cards around as much .
I love this card game! My Grandma taught me this game when I was a little kid. Her & I would play it all the time when I would stay over. Rip Grandma Carm ❤ I miss you!
I have a similar experience.....at 53 yrs old...... back in the late 70s.....card games were home entertainment for grandma and grandpa 🤗💪🇺🇲💪
I work at an assisted living facility, a resident wanted me to play this with her today but I didn't know how. I can't Wait to get to work tomorrow now!!!
So happy to find this. My grandmother and I use to play this in Ocala, Florida🤗
I played this game today with my family for the first time. Really enjoyed it! Denifitely not the last time I'm gonna play it. Thank you for this video!
A very enjoyable card game, I play it a lot with my Grandmother, always a good time

Loved this game, so happy to find the rules so I could play it again.
Can u move a king that got placed in the set up like in the beginning ? Idk how to word that right lol like can u move a king that’s been placed as one of the four play off piles ?
Yes, kings in the setup get moved to a corner right away.
We learned to play while on vacation last week. The lady who taught us is a caregiver and taught us exactly like the video, draw before playing. We did not keep score 1st one out was winner.
Th content of this video is of great quality - concise and informative. Thanks!
Thanks for showing us more ways to play with our favorite playing cards! :)
I used to play this with my grandparents. Good memories 🥰

We always played the tuck rule too
A nice and interesting game. I'll be sure to play it!
Are we required to play a card? Or can we pass? I feel sometimes you don't want play a card since you don't have any more cards in that sequence, and you will just give your opponents options. But then it gets pretty stalematy
this game is grate! i love to play it with my family and friends. always a good time.
Thanks for this tutorial and your enthusiasm, it’s a very useful video! 😁

02:52 cards are played with decreasing order and different color can"t we just play with same color are decreasing order too ?? Thanks
Yes pls answer
Do you draw before or after you play?
Before
There's the other variation where if you choose not to play or can't, you draw a card then your turn ends. But if you draw a king you immediately place it in the corners but you draw no more.
You should do a tutorial for the 2 player card game called Casino
Thanks for showing me this wonderful game me and my family will play this game all the time.😀😀😀😀
Love this game. So what happens when no cards are left to pick?
that would mean someone stuffed up and didn't put down one of their cards when they could've, but then that would also mean that the next card in that row couldn't be put down. This game is just a fun way to re-shuffle the deck, there is no strategy at all.
I LOVE THIS GAME AS A KID!!!!
Very well explained.
What if you're unable to play a card. Do u draw until you are able to?
No, you just draw one card per turn. If you cannot play, your turn is over.
Have you heard of the game avalanche? you use a regular deck of cards… Also what is the name of the intro music you use I like it thanks
Oooo gotta Watch this like 10 times lol
What to do if you have on your deck 2 are
More kings?
I was taught that everytime a player draws or drops a king they have to take 2 from the middle deck . Is this an alternative rule ?
Is there a two-player version? Love the card game vids. This will be the fourth card game I've learned from your vids. Thanks for posting.
Yes, the game can be played the same way as in the video with just 2 players.
Can you play other cards in the corner?
What happens when the deck runs out? We play the maker of sequence version
Great explanation
So it always has to go in alternating order, black, red, black red…?
Yes! My friend taught me this game in college but I forgot it’s name
If you play with two people are there still 4 original stacks?
Yes, there are always 4 original stacks.
@@GatherTogetherGames Ok, thanks. Great video!
So what if the pile has the Ace on top? Can a 2 be put down and played in sequential order from 2, 3, 4, etc?
+mochababy1990 No, nothing can go on top of an ace.
GatherTogetherGames got it. Thank you
Luv ur vids man
I have a question, I do not understand how you calculated the number of moves each player played. please let me know how keeping score works, in more detail.
Each player plays as many moves as possible, he was counting the moves not calculating them. Hope that helps
What do you do if you don’t have any plays?
Thanks! Plus, the music was very cool.
What happens when the last card is an Ace? (On the faced up card)
Once you have completed a pile (king all the way to ace) you take the pile out and the space is treated as a wild space. If you are referring to times when an ace is the flipped card then it stays there until it can be moved
@@gradymoxley2925 I’ve never played like that when a kings pile is completed it’s just out of play.
I really enjoy games like poker and blackjack, that being said, has anyone found a way to bet in this game?
What I don't understand is why any player would have a king in thier hand by the end of the game. Wouldn't you put it down as soon as you pick it up? I don't see much strategy for holding on to them.
The reason I hold my king, is because once your opponent has a red queen but you have a full hand to their one card left, I put the king down then the round is over. So says there’s three kings down and you don’t have the queen that means someone else does . So you might as well hold the king until you can win because you can always put the king down to finish your hand when you’re ready.
Great video
How do you get caught with kings in your hand?
I guess that's very unlikely XD It's mostly about how many other cards you still have.
TattlingTie43
Yes exactly.
Someone can go out in the first round. I did!!
We play you would draw at the end of your play signifying you are done. That way you have to wait till your next turn to play the king. It is more likely you can get stuck with a king that way.
Great video esp for 2020 coronavirus stay at 🏡 order
amazing video!
How can you end up with a king in your hand to get 10 points??
What happens if you can't play any cards on your turn?
awesome video bro...!
but can you tell me music name?
If a player cant play any cards can he skip
Thanks.
Great explanation!!!
Can you split parts of a pile?
That it what I wanna know. Did you figure it out?
What should I do if I have three kings in my hand?
You can play the kings into the corners.
Or you can wait to play them strategically
Thank you. Great video!!!
Seems great, but why is it under 2 player games?
This game is pretty good for 2 players. It become more fast paced compared to 4 players.
I thought it had to be in order from king queen jack then 10
What if it’s your turn but u don’t have any cards to throw?
You pass your turn?
It is added in 3 player games playlist.
Thank you!! 🌞👏👏👏👍👍👍
This game is just a fun way to re-shuffle the deck as a group, there is no strategy at all.
good vid keep it up bro
what if you cant go?
There is a solitare version of that game.
Thx
I love this game to but the guy in the video is wrong. You draw a card at the end of your turn, not beginning. Also you collect points. Highest score wins.

I still don't understand how to keep score
Diem-Ngoc Pham ok thank you, I understand now
But the thing is what I you can’t play any card
How and why would you have a king? Weird!!!

Genderīnclusive language wuld have been appreciated, or is this game only for males?
Get over it. I'm a female and could care less if HE or SHE is being used by the narrator.
Not everyone is a HE.
