This keeps coming up. It doesn't bother me that Republicans don't know how everything that happened fit within the rules. The fact that Republicans refuse to accept that a) they don't get a say about the rules of a club they don't belong to and b) everything that happened was covered by the existing set of rules shows a high level of entitlement, though. Do Republicans really think that the rules of either party don't cover what happens when the candidate who won the primaries isn't available after the primary but before the election? What do you guys think would happen if Trump's plane crashed? Do you really think the GOP would throw up its hands and put no one up for POTUS? The rules that cover the primary winner not being available for whatever reason enable the Democratic delegates to vote for whomever they choose. It's in writing, if you want to go look it up. Either way, though, if you don't belong to the club, you don't get a say in how the club selects its candidate. Everything was done according to the rules already in place. If your gripe is that things didn't go the way you are accustomed to seeing them go, then you weren't going to vote for the Democrat, anyway.
