Thta's not a 'beat' you are referring to, and it's not 'English'....it's the signature piano phrase form Antonin Dvorak's "The New World" (9th Symphony) from 1893.--smmae notes different tempo from the original. Performing ITNW (song and choreography) became a standard by which 3rd and 4th Generation K-Pop girl group trainees, at EVERY Agency, were judged as 'debut ready', because it's very tough to maintain the reuired vocals as the choreography has no breaks for breath-recovery and the movements are large, the formation changes are significant and altogether requires a LOT of stamina (and synchronization). Furthermore many 3rd and 4th Generation 'rookies' have performed 'ITNW' on music shows when starting-out, as proof of their skills (while their repertoire was still very limited due to being new groups), and thus to strengthen and broaden their overall appeal early in their careers. By 2010, just 3 years after debut, Girls Generation had become 'The Nation's Girl Group' and 'ITNW' (despite it NOT being their biggest hit), became known as "Korea's Second National Anthem". The lyrics speak of hardship, and hope for a better tomorrow, which explains why, in 2016, students demonstrating against corrupt admission practices at Eunwha Female College spontaneously sang ITNW in solidarity as they faced-off against a couple of hundred Riot Police. Since then ITNW has been adopted as an anthem of protest elswhere (it was sung in Thailand during protests against corruption and oppression by the Thai Royal Family and the Prime Minister in 2020. It has also been sung in celebration of social change ~~it was, for example, sung in the streets of Seoul when abortion was 'de-criminalized' in 2021 ( it was ALSO sung in the US during the 'Pink Pussy Hat' women's marches against Donald Trump in 2016). Lastly, since its inception in 1995, the Korean Entertainment Producers Association 'Dream Concert' has always ended with all the performers ( and the crowd) singing "Arirang' ...an approximately 600 year old Korean folk song that is a musical symbol of Korea....but in 2019 the Dream Concert was instead closed with 'Into The New World' ( and this, even though no-one from SNSD, let alone the group as a whole) performed at the concert. That decision was a significant and unique mark of respect for SNSD and acknowledgment of them as 'cultural icons' by the industry and performers. No other K-Pop song (or any other pop song from anywhere else that I can think of) has acquired such significance as ITNW.
