    The one thing you forgot to mention about the Infantry leaders. Is that they have the Discipline trait. So they can work really well with the Volksdeutsche. Giving them veteransea and stopping them for retreating automatically.

    As I ventured before, Eugen are modelling the main LAH KG wihout the Pionere, Aufklarer, and PzJg Bns, based on Pieper's 1SS Panzer regiment HQ with the SPW Grenadier Bn ... They have makeshifted their own PzGr pinoere units and notice the absence of regular Sturm Pionere. Main overlook seems to be the Tigers of the 1 SS Heavy Pz Bn, which were always behind the LAH (two vet in C?) and the 170-mm Corps guns, which were always in support... (perhaps a kubel offmap)...

      wasn't LSSAH Tiger unit detached as 101. SS sPzAbt? and fought beside 12. SS, where they are added in game

      @@czwarty7878 Normandy was a long campaign and the 1SS Corps' divisions arrived separately and were chopped up into fairly large semi-permanent KGs that fought in separate sectors until midway thru the campaign: From memory Reynolds tells how the 1SS Corps (101st) Tiger Bn was kept mainly near the Corps HQ so it could respond to threats.. thus once the two divisions were side by side in the Caen South area they both received backup from the Tigers... Because 12SS arrived first, they got the 101st support much earlier in the campaign, eg at Villers Bocage and at Goodwood..

    Its gonna be goddamn OP. No need for planes with all those AA cards combined with insane amount of nebelwerfers, no need for AT with all those panthers, and ON TOP OF THAT you get SiG 33 WITH grille. So if you play it patiently and even give up 2 flags in the early game to build an armored fist of grilles, nebelwerfers panthers and crazy good infrantry (which all is gonna have transport available im every moment) its gonna be unstoppable. The only weakness of this division is its expensivness and lack of very close-range units.

    As the Nebelwerfers come without an ammunition truck, you won't be able to use all of them unless you bring a lot of the Opel Blitz Ammo Cars.

    Diefenthal (later of Bulge fame) if I remember was the SPW Bn commander and his group was very strong and included SPAA so I'm unsure about the absence of SPW20mils for the 20-mm guns... Prob also they have reduced the towed infantry guns and MkIVs which were away with evil Mohnke's IISS regimental group.. but the nebelwerfer Bn is present. The point below about discipline in the leaders is key... there were grizzled veterans with fanatical NAZI sympathies as nuclei for the companies and platoons, since many experienced NCOs had been remeoved to outfit 12-SS with leaders... So strong was the cadre that it basically outfitted a whole Panzer Korps with leaders and junior leaders in a matter of months, all while receiving new equipment and relocating 700 miles ... incredible effects of fanatisism

    What are the thought process when it comes to choosing btw Pz4 and Stugs? I'm under the impression that stugs are the better choice due to the better profile and better front armor. But I'd like to know everyone else's criteria btw the 2. Thks:)

    • @TJ-sv4kv
      @TJ-sv4kv 8 місяців тому +2

      It’s a question of higher flex (Pz4) thanks to turret vs higher armor (STuG).
      If you are ambushing or know 100% what direction the enemy is in…STuG. If you are maneuvering or don’t know where enemy is, Pz4. Neither has sufficient armor to stop anything heavy but STuG will usually do better vs med tanks (who it should be fighting anyway).

    • @sg0310
      @sg0310 7 місяців тому +2

      Frankly I think the stug is just better so long as you can screen them and know what the enemy is doing, if you have to be more aggressive and push with subpar infantry support or recon(or both) the flexibility can be more useful same if you want to use a tank in a town for infantry support. The lower profile and better armor is just a lot better against the main threats you tend to face in the open where tanks are at their best, AT guns and tanks.

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 4 місяці тому

      Both have their place. StuGs are superior against tanks, and can take some beating due to stronger armor, but they're losing this advantage in close range. Panzer IV, while having weaker armor, has a turret which means they can fire faster for example after stopping when driving, which is crucial when you give attack-move order. Panzer IV also has a second MG which makes it much stronger up close against infantry or AT guns, if AT gun shows itself under 750m and misses first shot a Panzer IV has chance of winning this fight due to rapid suppression from MGs, but a StuG is dead in the water.
      There are places in SD2 maps where the areas are separated by forests, towns, etc where the distances are close, but it's still important to have a tank there. Those are often crucial areas and a Panzer IV in there is more efficient than StuG

      @@VulcanHDGaming You gave it your best shot and that is enough. Don't let pedants whine about it.
      To spare you the effort of looking it up, if you are so inclined:
      The German "ei" in "Leib" is pronounced like the English "ei" of "either" and not in the way you said it, which sounds more like "Lieb", which means something close to "lovely".
      Also, the "e" at the end is pronounced fully in German.
      Other than that, I'm sure we all butcher words in our international world and as long as it isn't intentional, we should just live with it.

    • @WOLFkraut
      @WOLFkraut 8 місяців тому +1

      @@erlorielNot to nitpick but "either" isn't a great example here (though I'm sure Vulcan will understand it) since its pronunciation varies between British and American English. In most American dialects it would have a long "e" sound, which is what you're trying to avoid. A better example might be "light".
