Thanks for this. I bought a thermostat from eSpares and replaced it using this video today. There was a bit more unscrewing to do to get the fascia off on my model, but other than that it was fine.
I have a Diplomat Select 600. Similar in appearance to the one on this video but with button ignition on near end of knobs. Two knobs are jammed on mine. I got to sell my flat soon and don't want to spend too much. Is it hard to fix. I guess a Gas Safe engineer needs to do it. How much would it cost for parts labour? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
One control can be pressed down but does not turn. The other is jammed and does not depress or turn. I tried WD40 when they started getting stiff and it worked for while, but my guess is with heat the debris has caked up? I put in a job for something inside £100 to Ratedpeople. If anyone can replace or fix the controls I'd be grateful. I'm going to move soon and too much expenses are hitting me. I would like to avoid changing a shiny hob.
Hi, Jim. We have a diplomat gas cooker. It does not lose heat but after a couple of hours of cooking it cuts out and the pilot light when switching it on takes a long time to settle down, flicking off and on. Could you give us an idea as to what might be wrong, please? Many thanks.
+Ally Tronks Make sure the burner is clean by using a paint brush to remove any surface dust. If this does not cure the problem it is likely you will need a Gas Safe engineer to resolve the problem safely.
Hi. I have this model oven in the flat I've just rented but all the black markings have worn out so I don't know how to use it! I don't suppose you would be able to send me a picture of the front panel to work from? Thanks
Sorry Laura we no longer have access to this appliance. You can order a replacement facia and fit it as shown in our video: ua-cam.com/video/pPIfsAoXwA8/v-deo.html or an alternative way to resolve your problem if the part is not available is to buy www.espares.co.uk/product/es462035 Then mark the knob or front panel with a marker pen to identify 180c 200c and 220c.
I have an Ariston cooking range with electric oven. When Oven is heated the main switch gets tripped. If you plug in the wall plug with out earth oven is heated without any problem. Technician checked with the meter and could not identify the real problem. Finally he said thermostat needs to be changed. He says when oven reaches a particular temperature it gets tripped. Do you think it is a thermostat problem? My oven is not heavily used.
Hi Nirmala, it does not sound like the thermostat as it does not normally go down to earth causing the trip to go out, you would need to test the oven using a megger to test the components. have a look at this video ua-cam.com/video/XV6QlTwobLo/v-deo.html&t
my oven is a blanco bose 166 and the element cant be changed from the front...it is similar but the screws have bolts on the other side...when i turned it around and removed the cover i still couldnt get to the bolts...there wer more covers and material at the back under the cover...it looked a nightmare....i need to call someone
