Stopped in for the 63 Rambler video, stayed for the doinks 😂
Growing up thru the Rambler era, we always saw the entire brand as economy cars, even though the Ambassador was their version of "upscale". But since they all were smaller than full-size, they carried that stigma & their formal ads (like @0:12) always made us laugh.
Ever notice how the ads showed people dressed up gave the ad a touch of elegance
What a nice nostalgia as we had a lot of `em also in Argentina, assembled at domestic facilities plant with Kaiser`s association . Althought i don`t understand very much about cars, these Ramblers had the best reputation about reliable cars , most durable than equivalent sized Fords, Chevrolets or Dodges . Compliments for this comprehensive footage
My neighbor, a Chemical engineer bought a Classic new in '63
Nice! Thanks for making this!
My dad gave me his pristine 1963 Rambler Ambassador 880 station wagon automatic. I would race the hell out of that car as it was still fairly light and had great balance. High drift angles with those bias ply tires. It would spin both tires for about 6 feet on the asphalt with the positraction. Great drum brakes below 80 mph. 0-60 mph in under 9 seconds.
If only you held on to it. I did mine, but a Chevy. Thanks for sharing great memories.
I'm guessing that the weak, air-cooled Borg-Warner automatic transmission "grenaded". I learned to drive in Mom's 1967 Rambler American Rogue - even with a 232/2V, it was a "Manned Missle" - 'till the BW automatic started slipping... Mopar automatics, starting in 1972, were FAR better.
@@vincentsinger9292 BW auto never gave me any trouble. I would shift from 1st to 2nd manually when playing around. I never power braked for a launch. Just floored it all the time.
Oho ihan uutta pätkää ja hieno aihio

The 1963 Rambler Classic and Ambassador are stylish and very competitive.
My Father owned several 63, 64, and 65 Classics - sedans and Cross-Countrys. They always started and drove, even with 10 lbs. of compression in all 6 cylinders, or with rods knocking. Always warm in Wisconsin winters with the WeatherEye.
