Thanks for your time,I love old swatch automatics ,have a few ,they are small but tough, I work with them so small out of way,got a 51 because of them, love it, same but big, but don't work with it will scratch up and it sits hi on wrist a sweat shirt will fog crystal,I still think it's cool will polish out crystal, and not treat it like a beater, I delivered a truckload of wood with my old swatch today
I had bought 2 swatch with quartz movement, and it broken after 3 years.., and the shop said it cant repair, even it change the battery.., my friend said..it useless to buy swatch..you just rent it not owned.., better buy japan watch..., fair and longlasting..., why did the swatch lie to customer..??, maybe the owner of swatch Nicholas Hayek is not origin from swiss, he is Lebanese..., so he is not honest to sell watch..
Hmmmm ....... Disposable mechanical watch, that you can’t adjust or repair, made by a machine. By the time it breaks there will be a new design that’s fashionable, so no one will care. Inevitable I guess, given this is the path the whole world has been driving down for some time. Edit.... I have a mechanical pocket watch over a 100 years old made by Waltham, recently had it serviced, keeps good time, will hopefully still work in another 100 years..... what will the future generations think of us in 100 years.
Probably none I guess, it is what it is, and in all fairness any watch at that budget probably will never get a proper service, so to some degree they are all disposable.
every watch is disposable, imagine you buy a TISSOT watch from JomaShop for $300 - Ok works great for 3 years - movement stops working, to service an eta 2824 a shop will charge you $200 or so even more at some - is it worth it?
Code 51 is the worth machine you can buy,its a shame code 51 was realesed by Swatch who has acces to much better mashines.Shame swatch!Swatch only quartz...
