Midnight Suns Venom is by far the best adaptation of Venom ever. They actually understand Eddie as a character rather than focusing on just "Blah scary monster". When merged they're essentially a slightly more serious version of the PSX Venom, so about as close to the Lethal Protector comics as you can get.

When it comes to Venom's portrayal in the video games, the 2005 Ultimate Spiderman version and Web of Shadows were my favorite before Insomiac's Spiderman 2. It's like Insomiac took the best of both worlds and tried to combine the 2 into 1 while also combining the sick Harry Osbourne story from the Amazing Spiderman 2 and Harry as Venom from Disney's Ultimate Spider-man cartoon. It was so nicely done.

I’d like to point out that Ultimate Venom isn’t exactly an alien Symbiote. It is a bio-organic suit designed by Richard Parker & Edward Brock Sr to cure cancer. But the suit was incomplete, so instead of fixing the host’s body. The suit devours it. Unless the host decides to feed it with another person.
Ultimate is hands down the best gameplay venom ever, you can jump, you can break peoples backs all Bane style but without the use of your knee, you can eat people, legit the best But personality wise, i love the neversoft venom, he just feels like venom for me instead of insoms venom or most other venom actually Id love a game where we got a neversoft venom with ultimate venom gameplay, maybe the harder difficulties could being back the slowly dying thing from ultimate
I’m surprised you didn’t mention venom from Disney Infinity. Yes, it’s not the first game you think of when you think of a venom game, but he is a playable character. I also really like his design. The only gripe I have with that version of venom is that his web swinging mechanic looks wonky, and they’re white webs instead of black. Other than that, I’d personally rate him at B tear.
Honestly, I’d give it to Midnight Sun’s Venom. Not only was Venom pretty well characterised (and was funny which we don’t get to see much anymore!) but Eddie was too. The way Spider-Man doesn’t trust him fully yet would still try and save him from the Symbiote perfectly incapsulates their relationship imo. Overall, he’s just amazing, spectacular and even, ultimate.
One of my biggest gripes with Insomniac's Venom is that they removed a chance for its comeback since the symbiote got vaporised in the end. I really wanted it to have a chance of becoming the lethal protector in possible future games.
The game sets up the possibility of Venom returning in two ways: -Peter having a piece of the Symbiote still inside him despite not being perfectly fused with Venom. There's no way Harry doesn't have the same thing going on. It could even be used to explain why he's suddenly in a coma right after he was revived. -The fact that Cletus Kasady was able to obtain a sample of the Symbiote suggests that there might be other samples out there.
I can put Insomniac Venom maximum on C or B tier, cuz god damn, he looks awesome and his missions is fire, but it's only good things he had, others Venoms are MUCH better
Fun fact about MUA3 Venom, he has among the highest magic stat (named mastery) in the game, beaten only by Thanos Infinite, Jean Gray and maybe Doctor Doom IIRC. Strongest wizard in the world lmao
I don’t think PS1 Venom isn’t objectively the best. I don’t really think there’s such thing as an objective best thing in most cases. But he is objectively the most accurate to what Venom was when he was created. A legitimately threat to Spider-Man who could be a little silly but when not acting as a villain towards Spider-Man is a legitimate goofball who is one of the funniest Marvel characters in history who is trying to be a hero with a not fully developed sense of right and wrong.

In my opinion they should have made Venom more like the ps1 games or midnight suns
Tony Todd Venom was a beast, dude was pretty much an Avengers level threat that managed to rule the entire New York city into one collective hivemand. And it took the combined effort of Anti Venom Spidey, Miles Morales, and MJ utilizing the particle accelarator device from Emily May Foundation to beat this guy and his goons. My only problem with this version however is that i really wish we could to see more of him due to how rush the third act of the game were.

90s cartoon easily. Adds the symbiote corrupting Peter to the storyline (it’s not in the comics) which is half the fun. Also keeps Eddie as a rival instead of the trend of making him Peter’s long lost best friend like ultimate
Aw man, you missed the most important video game adaptation of Venom! The one from Disney Infinity! Real talk though, this Venom's pretty cool. The story set he's featured in has him team up with Spider-Man after Green Goblin experiments on him to create his own Symbiote army, which is at least a bit more creative than a kids game like Disney Infinity needed to go. His design is much bulkier than any other figure in the Spider-Man set of characters, making him like the "Hulk" of their play set in a way. Beyond that, as a playable character he can be pretty fun, they have him use his tendrils a lot. Plus, his tongue just flails around no matter what, which depending on who you are adds to his creep factor or makes him look goofy. Definitely not a perfect adaptation but a pretty fun one, so I'd probably place him in B/C tier.

Insomniac’s Venom is the definitive version for me out of any other video game adaptation. To me, no other version can come close to the amount of anger, malice, horrifying intelligence, and pure animalistic chaos Tony Todd’s Venom brings to the table.
I love insomniacs venom, his degsin, his voice, and his mission was perfect. But i think he wasnt really flushed out that good because now hes just an evil bad guy that wants to rule the world, then wanting to make spiderman suffer so if spiderman was a 50 hour game (i know long) but i think its the perfect length to flush out venoms motivation, and the fallout between harry and peter. And motivate harry to kill peter

I know that this version (insomiac Venom)divides the public a lot, there are those who love it and those who hate it and those who judge it neither horrible nor perfect. but I like that even though in most cases Venom is not the kind of alien invasion for me it works the reason why here a host does it is Harry who wants to cure the world and the symbiote tries to make this wish come true but in a different way than Harry would like it infects everyone making an alien invasion. I think it's the right narrative choice to go with an alien invasion since the guest is Harry. that we ruin Spider-Man's life and get revenge I think is something that works much more with Eddie Brock and I don't think it would have worked with Harry who despite Harry being angry with Peter in some parts of the game is not at the level of hatred that Eddie Brock has against Spider-Man. but even if it has flaws I love this venom too much. this is my opinion.
My personal favorite incarnation of Venom would have to be definitely from the Ultimate Spider-Man video game. Speaking of which I do have the Nintendo GameCube version.

While I like Insomniac Venom, he’s kinda an inferior take on the character in Web of Shadows. Even though Insomniac’s iteration is god like in terms of power, Tony Todd voicing him, and most importantly being 19 inches in height. Web of Shadows’ Veonm has already had a established lore, his invasion of New York is done better as is new to the character to the point that the Symbiote took over Eddie Brock throughout the game, and his limited screen time makes him a more scarier villain.
I heard that the game Midnight Suns had a pretty good rendition of Venom, and from what I saw they seem befitting of an A rank. I think I agree with most of the list, the few I disagree with are mainly the ones that I feel like misconstrue the symbiote as an evil/wrathful parasite, which is most adaptations after the 90's animated series. I just like it better when it was just a misunderstood lil guy whose jealousy became pure hatred when it fused with Brock.
I still prefer Ultimate Spider-Man Venom. He was way scarier, truly acting like a gigantic predator. Don't get me wrong... Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Venom is pretty good, but those wings... Still, there are positive things about MSM 2 Venom. Like his personal Symbiotic army, for instance.

The ultimate version is what I grew up and probably original 90s animated cartoons but I’m a sucker for venom so I basically like any version lol

but I like that even though in most cases Venom is not the kind of alien invasion for me it works the reason why here a host does it is Harry who wants to cure the world and the symbiote tries to make this wish come true but in a different way than Harry would like it infects everyone making an alien invasion.
I think it's the right narrative choice to go with an alien invasion since the guest is Harry.
that we ruin Spider-Man's life and get revenge I think is something that works much more with Eddie Brock and I don't think it would have worked with Harry who despite Harry being angry with Peter in some parts of the game is not at the level of hatred that Eddie Brock has against Spider-Man.
but even if it has flaws I love this venom too much.

While I like Insomniac Venom, he’s kinda an inferior take on the character in Web of Shadows. Even though Insomniac’s iteration is god like in terms of power, Tony Todd voicing him, and most importantly being 19 inches in height. Web of Shadows’ Veonm has already had a established lore, his invasion of New York is done better as is new to the character to the point that the Symbiote took over Eddie Brock throughout the game, and his limited screen time makes him a more scarier villain.
I heard that the game Midnight Suns had a pretty good rendition of Venom, and from what I saw they seem befitting of an A rank. I think I agree with most of the list, the few I disagree with are mainly the ones that I feel like misconstrue the symbiote as an evil/wrathful parasite, which is most adaptations after the 90's animated series. I just like it better when it was just a misunderstood lil guy whose jealousy became pure hatred when it fused with Brock.

They do play more of typical Venom roll in that game and I do like them. I’d give them an A tier. Not a lot anti venoms out there

Ultimate all the way. Web of Shadows is cool, but the dialogue is bad and it focuses too much on the zombie aspect of the symbiote, which I never really cared fir too much.
