I always say: Be very suspicious when a friend/relative hook you up with someone. You need to question how they know each other. In most cases, your friend/relative is that person's former lover or in the case of Laos, just want to use you as a bridge to get their relatives (daughter/son then the whole family) into the US. I used to have relatives. They're all married and said they wanted to find a wife for me. But the only girls they would introduce me to are their former girlfriends, ugly or divorced with kids. When I found 1 on my own, they tried to steal her. When they failed, they lied to me, got caught then even have the audacity to threaten me with a Hmong lawsuit. They did this because I have no parents and no close relatives.
