This game is like wine, the older it gets, the better it "tastes", and the fact that no other game was capable of doing what the first Deus Ex does is abysolutely astonishing, not even the other Deus Ex games was capable of doing such immersive soundtracks and environment, one thing that made me crazy about this game was it's freedom, there's so many ways to do the missions and the fact that your choices can change the story is abysolutely amazing if you imagine this game was lauched back in 2001, and even though the graphics and the enemy AI looks a bit old it still looks great enough to be hard to imagine the game with better graphics looking this good without losing something, i already played a lot of games but i must say, all the conspiracy, the story and the way that everthing are connected is so perfect that i have no regrets to say that Deus Ex is truly a Real Masterpiece. (Maybe i should make a list of all the great games i played, the fact that every single one of them have at least 20 years old is crazy)
Yesterday, I started the game up for my first ever playthrough and was greeted with this gem. 🔥 I've only played the tutorial level so far but I have a feeling that it is going to be a trip. Thnx for uploading!
This game taught me all about keyboard shortcuts and how to play with lag. My PC was so slow that navigating my inventory with the mouse was near impossible, so 10yr old me learnt all about using keyboard shortcuts to make it work. I was DETERMINED to play this game.
Deus Ex is pretty dark game, but I never expected how main theme could sound so heroic and hopeful. This is probably JC Denton theme, a heroic cyber knight who who will bring light into darkness. And you will agree when you complete the game and know christian symbolism.
Dark themed games are mostly the best ones. Planescape Torment, Gothic 1, Morrowind, Bioshock 1, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (not top notch, but very good), Witcher, Dragon Age Origins. Some better, some worse, but what makes them great are their dark themed quests or whole storyline and world design. Last dark themed game that got my attention was Disco Elysium....I swear, they don't make such dark games anymore - they focus too much on them to be socially correct ..... you can play as any race with any s3x orientation, but the storyline is lacking due to it very often....they try not to ofend anyone so the "new era games" feels somehow artifical.
@@lukaskubinec9608 Was agreeing with your point until your comments on pc culture. Like, that has nothing to do with games not being dark at all and it just sounds like you need a scapegoat to pin games being less good in your eyes on. @@beezar113 well, I didn't say games aren't good anymore... quite the opposite - there are tons of good games of various genres. What i said is that games do not create such good dark atmosphere anymore, or at least very few of them does. I prefer looking for indie games rather than triple A titles, because that's where the quality and originality is nowadays.
@@Dasistrite I feel like that's true, but that can be more attributed to being progressive. It's definitely a good thing social consciousness is becoming more widespread, granted if it's just a lousy attempt at being marketable to the new generation is another can of worms. But I still maintain my point that more social consciousness does not mean games are more afraid to explore dark themes. I think that can be more attributed to an industry shift, and I wouldn't call that very political. The loss of dark themes and the new feeling of artificiality, which is a point I do agree with the commenter on, I think can be traced since like, the dawn of the PS4 and Xbox One, after The Last of Us was a final hurrah to the zombie shooter genre.

This game is legend and nostalgia from times when gaming was still golden era (or at least one before it's downfall), Cyberpunk will never reach that status.
Could not agree more. This is what I always say when comparing the two: Cyberpunk 2077 tried to do a lot of things (open world, police system, super detailed city, better hacking) and failed at most of them and what they didn't fail at was mediocre at best (besides graphics and story to some degree). Deus Ex didn't have the same scope/style of Cyberpunk 2077 but what the developers set out to do - they did it perfectly.
@@adrianalicea6704 Come on, the gameplay of Deus Ex is full of flaws and "meh" moments, but in a way that they are still fully enjoyable! And the rest complements that perfectly!
@@Kaizzer Of course. But back then, we didn't mind it as much. Because the rest of it wasn't equally meh. Nowadays, with games, if the gameplay isn't solid, that's already not an enjoyable game anymore because the rest sure isn't better either.

And the “Fortnite bad” trend is pretty stupid IMO. I’ll only leave this comment up since there’s a pretty interesting discussion in the replies about the newer Deus ex games.
@Al Draws Not sure what game you were playing or expecting. Take off those nostalgia glasses bro. Praxis kits function in the same manner as Augmentation canisters, only difference being Praxis kits unlocks stuff while Augmentation canisters give you a choice of upgrades (which is more restrictive gamewise). Game has same branching dialogue tree, you just need to actually replay it enough times to find them out. Save before a major dialogue and see how many different responses you'll get. Take downs don't take away agency long enough for it to effect stealth; is a 2 second meme of slugging an NPC that bad? Its more intended for those who do stealth-no kill runs. Anyways, Third person camera is only there when your humping walls and works as intended. Looking around corners is helpful you know. Sneaking is hard if you're playing on something other then easiest difficulty setting. AI isn't quake tier but they do respond more to their surroundings than original. Whats a limb based damage system going to do? Game places more focus on stealth than combat, and limb based damage system is superfluous. Does having no legs and being unable to stand and walk mean more immersion or gameplay mechanics? One leg and limping? HR is just as good as original. We're not talking about IW here. Never played MD tho.
Ah yes, the theme song of Reinstallation. Literally after discovering this franchise, on every PC/Laptop I owned/used I had to install this game. It's literally a must-have on PC, like important pre-installed Windows files.

Most beautiful game soundtrack ever made.
Yesterday, I started the game up for my first ever playthrough and was greeted with this gem. 🔥
I've only played the tutorial level so far but I have a feeling that it is going to be a trip.

Kinda cringe, but He is Jesus Christ Denton.
If you wanna discuss PC culture, mind talking about the very leftist ideas Deus Ex itself presents lmao

Just started playing the game. I am currently in hong kong and i just got the dragon tooth sword. This game is epic👍😊

Same, this game is truly the GOAT
Better than Cyberpunk 2077
I mean deus ex is outstanding game many games are no match for deus ex
This song is literally the intro of a 90's sci fi blockbuster movie, like this game could had been a movie and the soundtrack couldnt change a thing and it could still be the most kickass intro of all time.
Like its up there with things like the Blade Runner Vangelis end credits is *THAT GOOD*

@Al Draws HR doesn't have the Deus Ex vibe. It's alright on its own, but it doesn't stand a chance against Deus Ex.
@Al Draws Didn't I say "doesn't stand a chance against Deus Ex"?
