Funnily enough, my first two memories are of this exact "No" you speak of. "No we won't take you on a ride with the stroller anymore, you are 3 years old, you can walk" and as you mentioned this was said by my mother. It's just a funny coincidence that she said that I am 3 years old that I can pinpoint it now as my first memory. But I remember asking, so why could I speak (like 3 years olds do) if language causes conciousness and my exact conciousness of this moment? (Wouldn't count myself as concious before this or straight after this. I just vividly exactly remember the no, where and when it happened etc, but nothing before or after it)
I always try to mention the page numbers, even the paragraph numbers, before I read them aloud in the lectures. But they’ll also be indicated in the lecture transcripts once they’re ready to be released …
It depends a lot on what your interests are, and where you are coming from. You could start with our series on seminar three, for instance, which is designed to be fairly introductory. Or you could jump right into our series on the subversion of the subject essay, which is a bit more intense, but still designed to be introductory. From there, I’d follow the trajectory from S10 to S11 and forward from there. Hope this helps!
@@lecturesonlacanthanks a lot! Actually I am more interested in knowing about real and symbolic, it's for research purposes if you could guide me a little about it, would help a lot !!
There are some good riffs on the symbolic and the real in Seminar 11 and sprinkled throughout Lacan’s writings, but my favorite statements on their relationship are in the second half of Seminar 17. Just finished recording a series of lectures on it in fact. Super fun!
I love your enthusiasm and playfulness…It makes learning Lacan much easier . A great lecture.
Many thanks to you for making this videos!!
Glad they’re helpful!
@@lecturesonlacan I thank you soooo much !!!!!!!!!!!

As I am new to lacan, should I start with this seminar only or the seminar 3 or seminar 10 which you have posted earlier??

Scratch that this is the one provided you have some Freudian background
Man you got Marx so wrong... it's not about the money, and money is not capital.
