Appetite for brains works in flavor draft because the zombie isn't eating the spell. It represents the spell being eaten away from the mage's mind...I think?
It's a land. It's a harder to hit permanent type and, unlike Looter, will do something else before you need looting available (help you cast your spells). In a pinch off the top of the deck, you'll be able to loot immediately instead of waiting for summoning sickness. It is noticeably better than Merfolk Looter.
They make it sound like you have to cast the miracle card when you reveal it. I was always under the impression that you just revealed it when you drew it and at any point in that turn you could cast it for it's miracle cost. Anyone know how it works exactly?
Yes, but I think the issue here with loot land is that if you can afford to play with a couple of colourless lands in your land slots (i.e. you can already reliably get out your mountains and islands in time, which should be the first couple or turns), then even a marginal gain on the loot land is better than the mountain. That's the theory behind literally every land with a marginal benefit. I would actually argue that if I'm playing fetches, I'm more inclined to have a couple of these guys.
Appetite for Brains makes sense flavor-wise to me. Your hand represents your mind (if cards like Distress and Thought Seize are any indicator) and, since zombies loves brains, they'd try to eat the biggest 'thought' or part of your brain. I just wish it did 1 or 2 damage if you whiff and your opponent doesn't have a 4+ drop, for both flavor and power-level reasons.
Miracle says: "You may cast this card for its miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn." It must be cast immediately to be played for its miracle cost, though you can choose not to reveal it and just draw it as normal. wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/190a#1 here is the explanation on the new miracle mechanic.
Pairing only occurs when either creature enters the battlefield, so no. Creature A would return and you would have the option of giving it an Peddler deathtouch again. If you wanted to pair Creature B and Peddler, you need to either Cloudshift Peddler, or Cloudshift Creature B.
I also replied to kennyc002, and I think that the only colorless mana disadvantage overcome the advantage of looting form a 4 mana spell. At least for the first couple of turns. If it was one mana less I would have a different opinion...
I disagree with the criticism with tamiyo. She is a blue card which means you will likely have the open mana to play those "four cards" you draw from her ability, which I am sure could save you from the opponent's horde if you constructed your deck correctly (her ability doesn't cost mana).
You make it sound like all of those options are better than if this was just another land - that did nothing. This gives you something to do when you hold mana for a counterspell and your opponent casts nothing, and does help you dig into live cards in the late game. Even if you can't cast the card immediately, you still get to cast it a turn earlier than you would have otherwise (or more, depending on how much looting you've done).
If you play 2 of these in your deck, the colorless mana drawback will never really be an issue - and you don't need more than 2 of these in any deck, because you only want the effect towards the late game anyway. So that's not a relevant drawback at all. Obv. this cuts into other colorless lands you could run, but I can see this taking slots over Ghost Quarter, Drownyard, Bloodhall, etc. in decks that just want a loot more than they want any of those effects.
Would T Mastery be too good with 1 less on each cost? Miracle seems pretty meh. Better than timewalk if it lands. but still not a timewalk. Not like you can flashback it. I'm new to magic so I wonder what people think if they did that
but Creature B isn't paired, and A & Peddler are paired. Peddler and A don't want to break up, so they ignore the new creature (B) coming into play (ie. no Soulbond trigger).
One time some guy thoughtseized my Wilt- Leaf liege into play on my turn 0. After he realized what he had done he passed the turn and I played a Seedcradle Witch. He scooped.
Just because they make a comment about Premium doesn't mean it's about Evan Erwin, SCG has has premium accounts for as long as I can remember. Comeon, don't take this out on Evan, the guy has a family to take care of.
You should really read cards before you make statements like this. Miracle explicitly states: You may cast this card for its Miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn.
Just letting you guys know, as soon as you start a Channel Fireball "Premium" and start moving your best content over there like Starcitygames did, I'm ditching you guys like I ditched them.
I think your not understanding miricle cards, when you draw them, you reveal them, and you dont cast them on draw, you can cast them anytime on that turn they COULD be cast, for THAT mana cost, but they stay revealed until end of turn or cast... Should do a little research on that ;)
Honestly, it's close! And for the first 4 turns, i would rather prefer the mountain. only colorless mana -- 4 mana loot spell I would argue that the disadvantage is bigger. Plus, if you play a format that has fetch-lands, i think the basic is strictly superior. I don't understand why my comment received so many thumbs down. I respect LSV's opinion 99% of the time. I just don't understand it now. If I was playing 5CC pre-Faeries era, then sure, lighthouse is great, but now....
Cancelled my sub to channel fireball because draft videos were clogging my youtube feed. I love the content, and ill propperly still watch it, but the way it is distributed here on youtube is terrible. Please make shows that can be individually sub'd and make playlists. Thanks
Lighthouse is a lie! I don't understand why is LSV so happy about it!? Think about it: it costs 4 (four!) mana to cycle a card! Early and mid game, that's all most 1 turn just to cycle a card! And late game is even worse! If you have the advantage, you don't need to cycle. And if you are on the defensive waiting to draw a bomb, the card is a lie! If you miss, you just wasted 4 mana. If you hit, lol! Now you have no more mana to cast the bomb AND you would have drawn it the next turn anyway! WTF!
"Who cares if you draw 4 more cards, you better have a wrath or you're dead" WELL WHAT GETS ME MORE LIKELY TO HAVE A WRATH? DRAWING CARDS YOU MORON! I love how pro tibalt and anti timayo they are. Endlessly entertaining.
OMG, Tom and Luis talk like middle school girls (to slurry and fast). I don't think I had to focus that hard on what two people were saying since High School Spanish class.
Its like paying for DLC thats already on the disk right? ChannelFireball is for free and u don´t have to pay shit... not to mention it has better entertainment watching...
We love you Channel Fireball! Thanks for not charging us for your comedic quips.
This was a sweet episode. I'm so glad you've switched back to UA-cam. Keep up the good work, boys!
Loved the addition of Tom Martell. Him and LSV are awesome.
35 minute shows with guests are THE nuts.
Do a show about which cards are good cube cards each set as they come out! It would really help us newbie cube owners keep our cubes up to date.
Love the addition of Tom Martell to the show.
Are you kidding, the drafts are awesome... i think you can live with it.

Please, tell me how you got to play with the new cards.
lol i love how they both raged about the zombie hate card
16:55 Frightful Delusion. It's actually crazy how often you get the 2-for-1 on it.
just like you said. You draw it, you show it and play it whenever you want. But it has to be shown before you put it in your hand obviously.
No, but you can if you Cloudshift your Peddler. Pairing is only allowed when a creature you want to pair is entering the battlefield.
Cause it's pretty damn important that it is a land and not a creature that dies to everything.
"Nobody's Brainstorming this card back in legacy"
Oh how young and naive.

Lighthouse vs mountain. What would you prefer as your 5th land?

Holy crap lsv I watched you a year ago and haven't seen you since my god....
I welcome the addition of Tom Martell.
should i get a playset of clifftop retreat just to play slayer's stronghold and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
? please respond
I would actually love to see a video about innistrad flavour draft
Audio seems to be rather...grainy? loud? Whats the deal with that?
Miracle says: "You may cast this card for its miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn." It must be cast immediately to be played for its miracle cost, though you can choose not to reveal it and just draw it as normal.

Wow, what's up with the audio?
TSG: if you want to change on camera, though...
LSV: well, we haven't started channelfireball premium yet!

How did they not mention Vexing Devil? 1 red for a 4/3 is insane!

I lost it at the TSG segway... lol
At 05:25, to counter Tamiyo, the Moon Sages ultimate you use Sword of War and Peace. Problem? :)

I was just thinking when I saw that "the magic show" being on premium "well this is why i watch Magic TV"
These guys are killing me. They just drag on and on and on and on and on.
11:00 lol "Zombies are people too!"
did they all buy there jeans from the same store

Tom Martel reminds of me McLovin.... the face and the voice haha
Great episode!
Notice this is "Vol II"
Appetite for Brains is feasting on your (the player's) mind, not the creature or whatever spell it removes. How's that for flavor =P
They are trying to keep the video short.
One time some guy thoughtseized my Wilt- Leaf liege into play on my turn 0. After he realized what he had done he passed the turn and I played a Seedcradle Witch. He scooped.
Is that McLovin?
Cool episode, but the sound quality was kinda bad.
omg these guys drag on for ever
they already did that on part 1.
I fucking love these guys lol.
because taking up a land slot makes all the difference
Just because they make a comment about Premium doesn't mean it's about Evan Erwin, SCG has has premium accounts for as long as I can remember. Comeon, don't take this out on Evan, the guy has a family to take care of.

Tibalt seems good in Burning Vengence
Just letting you guys know, as soon as you start a Channel Fireball "Premium" and start moving your best content over there like Starcitygames did, I'm ditching you guys like I ditched them.
Slayer's Stronghold is gonna make Boros fucking ridiculous in the return to Ravnica.

Humphrey is having a family reunion or something.
Awesome!
oh right, my mistake.
YAY TOM MARTELL!
Desolate loothouse isn't good. If it was then why isn't merfolk looter played more?
BLUE GREEN LAND???
modern deck, mana ramp to doubling seasons, next turn cast tamiyo, use ultimate, tamiyo comes back to your hand, then self mill ftw
Cancelled my sub to channel fireball because draft videos were clogging my youtube feed. I love the content, and ill propperly still watch it, but the way it is distributed here on youtube is terrible. Please make shows that can be individually sub'd and make playlists. Thanks
LSV literally everyone called lighthouse
I hope they reprint Lighting Helix for m13
Lighthouse is a lie! I don't understand why is LSV so happy about it!?

tibalt should have been a green white gideon
Magic TV > The Magic Show!
Yeah, he lost like 60 pounds, maybe more. It was crazy.
"Who cares if you draw 4 more cards, you better have a wrath or you're dead"
WELL WHAT GETS ME MORE LIKELY TO HAVE A WRATH? DRAWING CARDS YOU MORON!
I love how pro tibalt and anti timayo they are. Endlessly entertaining.
hey guys 4 demonic rising :O
TSG on a segway XD
Press 4 repeatedly.
Angel of Glory's rise should not exist
I wish Brad Nelson didn't leave channel fireball
OMG, Tom and Luis talk like middle school girls (to slurry and fast). I don't think I had to focus that hard on what two people were saying since High School Spanish class.
I loved the last two sets but I absolutely hate the new set so far :
3 people who still like Evan Erwin watched this video.
ah c'mon. this is the internet, you'll have to admit that your original comment was a decent target for a condescending response :)
nope, you should do research before telling other people they should do research. what you said is plain wrong. true story!
Wurmcoil Engine>Magic TV> Magic Show
Please don't discuss Magic TV vs the Magic Show. It hasn't been a fair comparison for a long time.
Its like paying for DLC thats already on the disk right? ChannelFireball is for free and u don´t have to pay shit... not to mention it has better entertainment watching...
#MoreMartell
Boo boo bee boo is all I hear, its free damn it
Why are they so raciest?! Zombies are people too!
