Love your reaction to this beautiful classic song. Gary Brookers voice🎤 is just phenomenal! The most beautiful Melodies I've ever heard! What a voice even at this stage in his life! Just blows me away!! I can see it had the same effect on you when I had seen it! Well done! They don't make singers like this anymore!! 👍
I'm with you, Kent, this is an amazing performance. The original was released in 1967. This rendition was 39 years later and it sounded as good or BETTER than the original!!

I have known this song for my entire adult life. No one does it the way Procol Harum does. If I closed my eyes, I could imagine I was back in the late 1960's. I had a feeling this one would strike a chord with you, and it did. It had been languishing on the middle pages of your list for quite some time. So I gave it a boost. Glad you enjoyed it so much!!
Many years ago, my church organist occasionally played a soft smooth low-key instrumental version of this song while the offering was being collected. No eyebrows were raised because church elders never realized the music was actually a rock & roll tune that would eventually (2018) be inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame!
I always liked that song one of the most hauntingly beautiful song written. Sounds good live. If you can ever get ahold of the one with the 3rd verse it would be good. From what I understand it was mostly done in live performances. Take care. Keep it up.
No doubt, this is an classic and epic song by Procol Harum that will live forever in everyone's heart and soul. The arrangement was just stunning and superb !!!
this song came out in 1967 and it was number one in Britain when Sgt. Pepper's by the Beatles came out and so it is forever associated with the summer of love. I remember hearing that John Lennon was riding with a friend in the back of his psychedelic car, high on acid?, when he pointed out to his friend hey you gotta hear this.
I was 18 when Gary Brooker wrote and recorded this in 1967...He sounds just as good if not better 40 years later...what an iconic voice and song. I just watched another video of him live singing this in 2019....sounds just the same....
Thank you MiciKent. Procol Harum was one of the best bands end of the sixties and in the seventies with a lot of awful songs. There were very good musicians in the band as the great guitarist Robin Trower and the incomparable and unforgettable drummer B.J. Wilson whom Jimmy Page wanted for LedZep.
you have to see your face....the song is wonderful....the rendition is awesome....and Gary's voice is unbeliavable...i read all these things on you face
Ive been hearing this song and its nly now that i appreciate how good this is, perhaps they are underrated band of the 60s but i would say this is one on my top 5 song of that decade.
John Lennon and Bruce Springstein considered this to be one of the best songs ever recorded. The chorus gives the performance a fuller sound. A rock classic,
Well the lady in the song is obviously a sailor. In the 3rd verse I think it is...he sings that she was home on shore leave...only sailors get shore leave. Remember what sailors say...A Man in every port ! :)
I really don't understand the purpose of reaction videos. Do you get paid for these as fair use under commentary and criticism? If so, go react to my cover version of this song that I posted 2 days ago.
I never want this piece of music to end.
My father’s favourite song by Procol Harum. We played it at his funeral.
Ascolta a salty dog e repent walpurgis....capolavori da brividi...💟🙆♂️
Love this performance! RIP, Gary Brooker! ❤️
Hauntingly beautiful. one of the best live versions of any song I've ever heard. Wow!

Based (loosely) on An Air on the G string by Bach - a little before rock and roll I think you might agree.
@@mike6174 In the immortal words of Cpl. Walter 'Radar' O'Reilly: Ahhh, Bach!
@@rcinsley God. I love Mash and this episode where Radar wants to impress is among my favourites. Thanks for the reminder.

Very respectful reaction...you let the artist be the artist.... much respect to you
I loved how Booker looked in 1967 doing this and I love the way he looks now. Awesome. TY!
Anche io....💟Gary Brooker💟
Best song EVER. Procol Harum is still performing and touring to this day - they last appeared in the States in 2019. LOVE THEM!
That’s great music right there.

In the UK this was voted the best song of the 60's, quite something given all that was produced in that decade!

That is so Beautyful....

Awesome!
The singer reminds me of someone. I know...he sounds just like Gary Brooker who sang this same song over 50 years ago, when I was still at school.
Now watch the original live Black and White version from 1967. Gary Brooker has retained his voice all those years.
He can really still sing well.
I think Gary Brookers voice sounds even better today at 75.. This came out when I was 17, still have the 45..
John Lennon and Bruce Springstein considered this to be one of the best songs ever recorded. The chorus gives the performance a fuller sound. A rock classic,
RIP Gary Brooker 1945 - 2022
Man o man
Try Grand Hotel by Procul !
another fine english singer
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Originals my favorite this one's okay the band named Procol Harum Loosely translated from from the language Latin means all things possible
Best version of this song in my opinion.
Gary Brooker sounds no different than he did several decades ago!
Exactly. I can’t hear any difference from the original.
If anything, his voice is better here
My tax money at work. Makes paying tax seem a little better. (Even proud to put this concert together), well done guys.
Både orkester og kor er siden nedlagt -
Try A Salty Dog from the same concert
Well the lady in the song is obviously a sailor. In the 3rd verse I think it is...he sings that she was home on shore leave...only sailors get shore leave. Remember what sailors say...A Man in every port ! :)
