- There is an island full of deadly venomous snakes in Africa. It is called Musambwa island and it is on Lake Victoria. Living Zoology went to film this very remote place for their upcoming documentary called The Most Venomous Snakes of Africa. How is the life of fishermen among hundreds of Forest cobras? Watch this video to find out. The island is also home to huge bird colonies.

I am an Indian. I love the natural beauty of Africa. So I watch these videos. I love everyone. Thanks
Thank you very much for watching our videos! We are happy that you like our channel! And India is amazing country, we want to come back!
India nature is also wonderful and if the English didn't when there it would have been even better, my friend's father was a West Indies selector and he always have stories about India
We are indeed blessed in our biodiversity
Absolutely incredible documentary. Thanks
No bloody music no commentary pure content. Never seen anything like this

Yes, absolutely.
All their stuff is like that. Best in Class! :)
Hearing those birds on a daily would make me go bonkers geez..
These people got used to it, but for us spending 24 hours there it was loud!
What about the stench?!
@@thenotsojollyrancher-akate9516 It is strong! :D Birds poo and fish.
What about traffic noise, clubs etc which is toxic
@@dogtraining254 It is true that we prefer bird noise from the noise of traffic!
Imagine wanting a nap and you hear all of these.
Normal thing on this island! :D
Not only the noise but you find a snake sleeping beside you
You take a nap, and the sounds of the birds are music to the ears.
My initial thoughts!!!
Did UA-cam also recommended this to you?
We guess that it is recommended to people who are interested in snakes.
yes 😁
I sorta searched it
@@LivingZoology lol.. it recommended to me while watching random military news
@@clinton_pups That is interesting!
You should have change the title. “Largest bird sanctuary”😅
Hissing birds!!

U r right bro .I was just thinking about that. It should be bird island instead of snake Island.
Beautiful example of co-existence.

That was incredible! I had no idea this place even existed! It's really nice to see people getting along with venomous snakes and nothing negative coming of it. It's such a rare thing to happen.
Yes, it is very rare, especially in Africa! The only place in this continent we know where people respect snakes. Thank you for watching!
It's in Uganda come and enjoy the Pearl of Africa
@Ted Bundy Hopefully history wont repeat itself here and they will be left alone.
Fingers crossed... but doubtful.
My native village in South India also has a large number of snakes, the majority of them are cobras. We have a temple of the snake God and it is considered a great sin to kill a snake. One is sure to come across a cobra or two, especially in the fields.
Yet, we have no record of any case of snake bite in living memory.
Vidyasagar bullshit
“This island is a hidden gem”
-Venomous snakes
-annoying birds
-minimal, if any, electricity
Yeeaaa...I’ll pass 👌🏽
It is certainly not a place for everyone! But to us it seemed very special.
Nature Can be seen as a gem, the rest... 🙈
No women I’ll definitely pass
These men have figured it out. The only Man Cave where their wives won't come to turn off their TVs. haha
What's so amazing about an Island full of venomous 🐍 a snake is a 🐍
Am very excited to watch my home on u tube I was almost raised on this island by my father . Thanks to the videographer, and Mr Enock the c.man of the Virgin Island that never seen a woman
Thank you very much!!! We really loved our stay on the island! Such a cool place!
Ubawa dekkama hina yanawa bn
Wow so this place is in Uganda and i had no idea about it yet am augandan wow nswade
Fascinating! It is a perfect balance. ‘Respect’ takes on a proper meaning. It’s almost as though some of the snakes seemingly disregard the fishermen; they’re not food, so just keep an eye for surprises, yes? No reports of bites - no surprises. So, where do the fishermen sleep to keep away from the spirits as they hunt, because some rodents must be around inside the huts? Or this doesn’t happen, maybe. Thank you for your nice video, the gray headed species is pretty with such distinct markings. Feathers are fascinating, same as scale patterns are. I know you guys really enjoyed this foray!
We were fascinated by this place. Cobras behaved like pets, no reaction to people. People sleep there on the ground, in the huts! We saw a cobra crawling a meter from a sleeping man. Thanks for watching! Great that you appreciate also the bird footage, we wanted to show a complex view of this island.
Best kept secret. I’m definitely going there for my honey moon. Who can resist a small island full of venomous cobra snakes and 200,000 birds crapping and making annoying loud noises 24/7. I mean, that’s a keeper!!!!👏👏
😅😅😅😅😅😅
😂🤣😆
So would u go there alone on honeymoon as the women are not allowed on the island, specially sex is not allowed there😂😂😂

"No recorded fatal snake bites." Yea, until I went there.
Who knows, we were there and it was fine.
Poisonous snake crawls up to him.
Man calmly walks away.
Boss mode level 10
Yes, we agree!
there is no such thing as poisonous snakes... ;)
@@hennessyfaust You are right, the correct term is venomous. But poisonous is so widely used that we are not correcting people anymore.
Bring a manchete. Chop Chop. Head Off. See how dangerous that snake is.
Or bring a gun. Bang Bang. Don't bring a snake to a gun fight.
Remote outback Australia is very similar.
Snakes do not perceive humans as a thread per se, and are quite relaxed around the very few humans they encounter.
Snakes are quite inquisitive, so one might find a snake investigating even ones limbs, body, or just looking in a cold night for some body heath...in ones bed or sleeping bag.....😉😊😊
The trick is not to panic....you won't get bitten if you remain motionless and keep your nerves.
Snakes are not aggressive, they rather get away than bite!
But rapid movements will alert them and triggers their defensive instincts, even multiply bites are then not uncommon, depending on the specie.
Ergo
Snakes are not out to bite you!
In Australia, 90% of snake bite victims are stupid idiots , that either tried to kill a snake, remove it from their property without proper training....or are drunks that thought to impress whoever was watching!
Respect snakes, keep your distance, and count yourself lucky if you encounter one of this great creatures.
A few little known facts about Australian deathly wildlife:
Deaths per year, on average for the past 20 years, due to,
Snake bite....1-3
Shark attacks....2-3
Marine life, such as sea snakes, deathly fish and in particular the very deathly jelly fish in the tropics.....1-3
Crocodile attacks...1-3
Spider and scorpions....zero!
Well,
There you have it,....Australia might have some of the deathliest wildlife in the world, but in reality it is one of the safest countries on earth!
But, what native animal kills more people than all the rest combined, hundreds every year?
The cute Kangaroo !!!
How?
It is the cause of numerous, often fatal car accidents all over Australia.
Well, I've written enough....dinner is ready.
If anyone likes to know why that is....let me know and I will explain.
Cheers
from tropical Cairns
Thanks for watching and a long comment! What you write about Australia is absolutely true! Enjoy your dinner in Cairns!
Nice... Man.. ✨️
Who needs women when you got venomous snakes already near by 😂😂💀
Haha 😂😂😂 We were told that some women did not behave well and terrible storms came after that. No sex is allowed on the island and families of the fishermen stay on the mainland.
Jason Omar That made me laugh because it’s true
Oti Jeremiah I knew Cobras are very smart but did not know they was freaks like that.. I want a pet cobra now
@Oti Jeremiah That is what you really heard? Wow, so maybe men believe that cobras become women at night :D But we can tell you that it does not work, we found 3 cobras during the night and they looked like snakes :D
@Oti Jeremiah has anyone got bitten by the cobras..?.. especially at night if they go outside to use the bathroom?
Great video depicting the habitat of the island with the huge Gray-headed Gull colony and the human way of life there.
Thank you very much! Great that you like the video.
It is a great story of coexistence between humans and snakes and should be shared more around the world!
Thank you so much!!! We will be grateful if you share the link to this video ;)
Beautiful snakes! Really an interesting island!
Thank you!!! It is a very special place, we have never seen anything like that. And the cobras were super calm!
Excellent content. The videography was brilliant. How many people were part of the team? I noticed that the birds stayed in the deeper part of the island and humans were only in one corner. It must have been dangerous to take the shots of the birds and nests given that it is a snake Island.
Thank you so much!!! Our team had 4 people. Cobras could be anywhere, so we had to be careful. But this island is amazing place.
Great example that people can coexist with venomous snakes, forest cobras are beautiful animals one of my favourite of all cobras. Great film.
Thank you very much! Yes, also for us it was a special place. We work in Africa a lot and we try to educate people and show them that it is not neccessary to kill them. And here they live in perfect harmony with deadly cobras! The island will be included in the feature-length film called The Most Venomous Snakes of Africa.
@@LivingZoology Well done for spreading the positive word regarding snakes.
@@nepaleseman1010 Thank you, we try to do this work in Africa, Asia and America.
You can have all those venomous snakes. I don't want anything to do with them.
One reason people and snakes can coexist here peacefully is that they are fishermen who work far away from the snakes on the water. Most snake bites in the world happen where people work in the fields and platantions stepping on snakes while working or touching them while harvesting.
This is very inspiring. Thank you, gives me joy that people respect the snakes.
Yes, it was so nice to be in such a place! Amazing experience!

because birds shouting to those snake rowrowrow the boat
They only care about dumping their trash and polluting the island and lake with their garbage
I find that snakes know if you are a threat to them or not. I used to live in the countryside in the Southeast US and there were tons of venomous and non venomous snakes around my house. My neighbors always had close calls with them, but they never bothered me as I walked around there and in the woods, etc. I’ve even rescued a few from dogs.
Yes, snakes are afraid of fast movements and your behavior towards them is very important. If you are calm and relaxed, snakes also will be calm and relaxed.
Oh my gosh,. That's absolutely terrifying.. how do you deal with them ? Make sure none is crawling around your vehicle,. Maybe the swimming pool,. If it was me? I would have been in a grave years ago 🥺😮. I get it,. No !! I don't want to imagine. You would need a body suit made of metal ,. Not making fun of no one. I'm glad I don't live in a state like that ,. I remember a family 1988, moved from Florida to the West Coast , they had to go outside and run off Crocs in their back yard so the kids could go outside and play. That's why they are here West Coast Oregon.
I live in South Florida and the snakes are a pain.

I would live here, I have two cobras so I don’t mind snakes.
But you know where your snakes are and how many there are. I don’t have an unnatural fear of these snakes but, the reality of you stepping on one or one crawling in your bed, toilet, couch etc over the years I would think is almost an eventuality in that close proximity. Am I wrong? (I don’t keep snakes). I don’t believe for one second that there hasn’t been a fatality from one of those cobras. They don’t report them because they revere the animal. I don’t blame them, or the cobras. I’d sure as hell bite anyone that stepped on me
