I live between two huge dairies and the only time it smells is when they spread the liquid manure on the fields after harvest. Stinks for a couple weeks. i love the ag so the smell isn't a problem to me.

Dairy>Chicken>Hog is what we've found in corn. But for the garden...nothing beats guinea pig...sounds crazy...but it's been true...btw guinea pig manure is hard to come by.

commercial ferteliser has alot salts in it, manure doesn't work immedetely, commercial fert. does work immed., and can burn your crop, manure has to rest for about a year, then its alot safer to use.

Manure is gold of all fertilizer,and it's completely organic that's the good thing about it

Gypsum helps keep the smell down. We spread some gypsum pens everyday, it make a big difference in smell.

i have sandy soil and some dark along with some clay in spots, i use to build my soil, tree ash, chicken manure.

Do you think spreading slurry on top then chiseling it in is as good as injecting?
