I live between two huge dairies and the only time it smells is when they spread the liquid manure on the fields after harvest. Stinks for a couple weeks. i love the ag so the smell isn't a problem to me.

Manure is gold of all fertilizer, and it's completely organic that's the good thing about it

Gypsum helps keep the smell down. We spread some gypsum pens everyday, it make a big difference in smell.

Dairy>Chicken>Hog is what we've found in corn. But for the garden...nothing beats guinea pig...sounds crazy...but it's been true...btw guinea pig manure is hard to come by.

Yeah, that's how you pronounce it. These guys have apparently only seen the word in print.

Do you think spreading slurry on top then chiseling it in is as good as injecting?

So the salt in the manure is to be blamed, not the chemical fertilizer? Hmm...

Maneer? What is that? I know what Manure is but I'm unsure what Maneer is. :-)

  • @periesicsd

commercial ferteliser has alot salts in it, manure doesn't work immedetely, commercial fert. does work immed., and can burn your crop, manure has to rest for about a year, then its alot safer to use.
