OMG. I was 15 yo when "The Fat of the Land" album was released. One of the hardest and most beautiful made albums in electronic music. Keep in mind that it was in '97, they didn't have all the software that artists have these days and all the production tools. Their music was revolutionary and so raw! Peace!
2Unlimited had some hard beats before that time, in 1993 No Limit and The real Thing in 1994 pretty hard . Also Culture beat Mr Vain has power ! My fav of The Prodigy is Omen
The Prodigy (together with Daft Punk) are hands down the most influential music groups/artists since the 90's up until now, and The Prodigy are still active now even after the passing of Keef three years ago - they're promoting/road testing new music on an already sold-out UK tour this summer. Everywhere in pop culture: games, movies, TV shows, tons and tons of commercials(!), you hear their music or music from artists heavily inspired by them. This is from their third abum (The Fat of The Land, 1997), and this is actually the first track Keef is doing lyrics on. BTW, raves in the UK back when these guys came through were a bit more barns, (not always abandoned) parking garages, or large tents on a muddy field than what you describe from 3:30, but you are very correct about the pills bit xD
Flint totally changed his role and look in the band. He's the main vocalist here but early on he was just a long haired dancer. Check out Out of Space to see what they were like in the beginning. ua-cam.com/video/a4eav7dFvc8/v-deo.html
The Prodigy are absolute legends, unique in their own way & believe me when I say that when being at one of their gigs you need a spare top/t-shirt as you're gonna get very hot & sweaty indeed as they got the crowd lit & Keith was one of the most energetic frontmen I've ever seen and could work a crowd into a frenzy and fed off it. Listened to these from the start & was devastated Keith took his own life in March 2019. R.I.P. Keith, you f**king legend.

Keith, the guy in the Stars and Stripes jumper, picked up that top on the way to filming the video from a shop because he thought it would look cool. Filming took place in an abandoned London Underground tube tunnel. This was a huge hit in the U.K. in 1996, Prodigy had been around for years by that point but this was them really hitting the big time.
I believe this is still in the Guinness book of world records for being #1 in several countries at the same time or opening up at #1. The album Fat of the Land is awesome. I think the best song is "Diesel Power."

The Prodigy, masters of their craft. Fat of the Land is hard, raw, and a masterpiece. Breathe is a must reaction, and Smack my Bi**h Up too. The video for SMBU, is filmed in POV, got banned in some countries, and there's a cool twist at the end.
I'm writing this before the premiere of the video, but I'm pretty sure that the "Eminem" mentioned in the title is in fact Liam Howlett, the composer and producer of The Prodigy. Although much less famous than the actual Eminem, his impact on electronic and cross-over music is comparable to the impact of Eminem on hip-hop. Interestingly enough, Liam Howlett started as a hip-hop DJ/producer in the late 80s, but by 1990, when he formed The Prodigy, he had started writing and producing rave/electronic music. He actually had a number 1 album in the US Billboard 3 years prior to Eminem's first number 1 album and although neither Liam nor his band are as recognizable as Eminem, their music has been in multiple movie and game soundtracks, including such a classic like The Matrix.
@@dene39 That's correct, but without the others, Liam would not have been as successful. The others create(d) the buzz, which is so important, especially for live performances. They also took the spotlight away from Liam, allowing him to concentrate on what he does best, which is writing music. Last but not least, they inspired him to write tracks to which they can dance, sing, or simply go nuts on stage.

The funny thing is that Keith who is the 'scary one' doing the singing in this video was such a sweetie. When The Prodigy first came out they were proper happy ravers and then they went a lot darker with their later stuff. Keith committed suicide a few years ago which was completely shocking to me. Everyone that knew him only had lovely things to say about him. The Prodigy are very unique.
Most people were really shocked indeed. He did openly talk about not being afraid to commit suicide once he feels like he has nothing much to live for, but I guess nobody took that seriously. That was years before he actually did it. Apparently, he had been struggling with personal issues for a few years and perhaps the band was the thing that kept him going, but even that wasn't enough unfortunately.

Most people are going to suggest you guys react to the most popular songs of the The Prodigy. I think to really understand them you need to go to step 1, the first track on the first album. "Jericho" from the album Experience will be the best place to dive deep into their discography.
Remember when you played football in high school and there was that one crazy ass white dude who never washed his uniform, his stahl looked like a pig pen and that crazy stare in the huddle?? but he knocked the shit out of people in a game and you loved that ??? That is this song . Keith Flint RIP
Makes me want to listen to the Chemical brothers - "Block Rockin' Beats", or "Trip Like I Do", "Busy Child", "Cherry Twist", and "High Roller" from The Crystal Method's album - Vegas. Oddly enough another band you guys should check out is Enigma. They are from the early 90's. I want to say like 91' I think. Listen to their first album MCMXC A.D. . My sister, and girlfriend at the time, both worked in a music store. They said they were told by the area supervisor, that he was told, the album is meant to have sex to. You should go into it with no rules or inhibitions. Anything your partner wants should be okay during the song. It is a time for just the two of you and no one is there but each other. Your trust, love, and desire for your lover needs to be on point for this to work for both people. You are supposed to start with light touching, foreplay then oral during the first track for just a bit. Then when the drums get to pounding, so should you lol. You are meant to keep rhythm with the drums, as long as there are drums, if they speed up so do you, if they slow down, so do you, if they stop, so do you. You get the picture. You should keep in perfect time with the drums and let it be your guide. If the drums stop, this time goes back to doing other things, just not traditional penetration. As long as you are touching each other like it was your first and last time all rolled into one, but with the comfort level of two that have been together for years and years. Do a little research ahead of time to find out the last beat on the album. That is when you are meant to climax, together. Again, once the drums stop, you are to touch each other in sensual ways, just no traditional penetration. You should plan out to have enough time for the 40:16 of the album to play out. There's a limited edition version, meant for "professionals" lol. It adds another 20:41 to the run time, making it 60:57 ( 1 hour and 57 second ). I've done both, it's a unique experience for sure. The guy has to really focus on the music, or it will, uh, end early :) ! Be sure to be hydrated, so you get no cramps too. I can't be sure that this was what they planned when they made it or not. But, it's lore that everyone in my area knows about. So, it wasn't just isolated to that music store and their employees. Anyway, give it a shot! The worst thing that could happen is lower inhibition's and having some fun! If done correctly, you will become closer, be completely free in each others hands, learn what you lover truly wants and desires that maybe they couldn't/wouldn't say before. To be totally honest with each other with each other. This should raise your level of intimacy to an entirely new place. You're both young and flexible (lol), this will help you enjoy each other like never before! Your welcome!
