Act Two, Scene One- Aarush and Villagers
Aarush: “I've good news today.”
Villagers: “Please tell us some more.”
Aarush: “A child’s come our way.”
Villagers: "A child to adore.”
Aarush: “Yashodara's boy"
Villagers: “and Siddhartha's, too.”
Aarush: “Yes, both to enjoy.”
Villagers: “A prince, there are few.”
Aarush: "I pray my friend's glad"
Villagers: "Why ponder his state?"
Aarush: " Because he seems sad."
Villagers: "Why so with his mate?"
Aarush: "Perhaps I am wrong."
Villagers: "We hope you are, too."
Aarush: "A mate should be strong."
Villagers: "and glad, never blue."
Aarush:
“The only big concern that I may share
is that his mind seems far away,
I don't know where.”
Villagers:
“Why do you have this thought about your
loving friend as if his happiness is lessened
by this trend?”
Aarush:
“I can't imagine why he’d spend his time
focused on anything that would
distract his mind.”
Villagers:
“It isn't great to have this weary, troubling
thought. He should be happy for the child his
wife has brought.”
Aarush: "My friend will be glad.”
Villagers: “We hope both will be.”
Aarush: “What's there to feel sad?”
Villagers: “They live comfortably. “
Aarush: “Siddhartha’s grown tall.”
Villagers: “He's now come of age."
Aarush: “A child says it all.”
Villagers: "He's turned a new page.”
Aarush: “I'm glad for my friend.”
Villagers: “The time has now come.”
Aarush: “May joys never end"
Villagers: “They have a new son.”
Aarush: “I’ll see them real soon.”
Villagers: “Make sure they all rest”
Aarush: “I’ll be there by noon.”
Villagers: “Please give them our best."
