I have borderline personality disorder and his words speak to me on a whole other level. I feel like what he feels like in so many of his lyrics. I just love it
Great reaction He still mentions God in 6 of his songs in his search album and three times in his mixtape clouds. People seem to miss all of it but to me he has not changed much.
I really do appreciate your videos and thoughts!! I’ve been listening to NF for years and I always wondered what a specialist would say about his work.
Great reaction! Notice how in the video, it’s just Nate with his microphone in an otherwise empty room because that’s literally all he has. He’s not just telling you but showing you that this is all he has. It’s a simple video for a reason. I hope Paralyzed is on the Journey because he sings in that track too and it’s amazing!
I can’t believe what just pop-in my suggestions videos!! , NF is my favorite singer and I always wondered what a therapist would say about his music and lyrics,, thank you for your efforts and am waiting to see you reacting and talking about his new songs through this amazing journey.
Awesome reaction!! NF sings about what he is going through. That's NF Real Music. He still today often mentions God. On his Therapy session album has a song called "Oh Lord" which is one of my favorites.
Nate knew he struggled with anxiety/depression. It was after Perception that he had a mental crisis, mostly dealing with the fame. He got therapy and found out he has OCD also. Man, a lot of puzzle pieces came together for him then! In The Search album he talks about this. I see Nate still putting God references into his music. Not as often but he always makes it clear that he's a believer in Jesus! #NF 😎
This is probably my #1 favorite song from NF. If you want to hear NF sing more and talk about God you should react to Flame ft. NF - Start Over. It's a great song in my opinion!
I enjoy your videos! You should possibly dive into Mac Miller's discography if you get the chance. His mixtape Faces (which recently was rereleased) has a lot of introspective lyrics which are very emotional, but still fascinating. It's incredibly dark and sad, especially after his passing. Though to me it might be the greatest hip-hop project I have ever heard. Another few projects, Swimming and Circles, are both a great listen and lets you kind of see what was going on with Malcolm's mind around time of his passing. Circles is not much of hiphop album which leans heavily into other alternative, jazz, and soft rock sounds. Also Circles is a posthumous album, but it is incredibly well made and sounds like it was near completion when he passed.
This man’s smile for some reason gives me a strange feeling of safety and comfort. I just suddenly feel at ease everytime he smiles. I wish my psychiatrist made me feel this way. But he sadly only makes me feel like just another number.
You are damn right Steve! Trust your gut! This song helped me get into grad school….he is amazing. Thank you for the video and his emotion in the runs kill me I love them so much. Going to subscribe!
I love watching your reaction videos because there is always something new to learn. Also, some songs you should listen to are: 1. Life’s a Mess - Juice WRLD ft. Halsey 2. Life’s a Mess II - Juice WRLD, Clever and Post Malone. 3. Ring Ring - Juice WRLD ft. Clever 4. Rapstar - Polo G I know that you probably have a long list of recommendations but these are songs that should have some good lyrics to unpack.
If you could react to nf- how could you leave us that would be a real treat!! I legit cried when I heard it and saw the music video !! Keep it up man I like what your doing man, you seem like a genuine person !
This was dope my guy. Please keep doing NF whenever you think it's in your best interest for your channel. I enjoyed your input/take on the song. Thanks
The "no name" is actually a reference to his song "no name". You will find he mentions his own songs quite often. Also, Beautiful Addiction, beautiful, oh Lord, and Keep on are the best songs by far from him that is more underrated probably because it is a more Christian type of song but as a fellow Christian I love them for that.
One little thing that I would recommend to help improve video quality is having the music audio as a separate audio file rather than it being audio picked up from your microphone. It sometimes sounds a little bit like it's underwater and putting a separate mp3 file of audio right over the video would make a night and day difference.
The line about being back is due to this being a song that came out after he signed with a scam record label and it was a so called Christian company. In 2012, Feuerstein's work attracted the attention of Xist Music. On May 2, 2012, he released his debut extended play "I'm Free" with production work from Tommee Profitt. The tracklist consisted of nine songs including "Alone". The EP also included an exclusive version of "Alone" featuring Sean Simmonds. Xist teased for the release of the self-titled extended play, "NF," but Feuerstein (NF) parted ways with the label after a dispute and the production of NF was postponed. "All I Have" is a song on Mansion that mentioned this break from Nate's first Label to finally getting signed by Columbia Christian Music in 2014, before the release of the EP, "NF," and "Mansion," (Nate's first studio album).
I would assume this chorus sums up the first building blocks of your profession... the art of making others feel like you believe and respect their version of 'REAL'.. to gain their respect of your opinions when they may feel like even their closest contacts tell them that they should not feel the way they feel and belittle their reality as far fetched as it can appear to others who are even trying to understand the struggles of a friend or loved one.. after all.... it may very well be..."ALL they have" ;)
Well said! The key to therapy working is a trusted and safe relationship with a therapist that can see who the person is without judgement and also show them who they would REALLY like to be if they were completely well, not easy but very rewarding and requires a strong therapist who knows what they’re doing😊👍 thanks for continuing to watch and comment!
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial But 'completely well' is unachievable isn't it? Maybe meant 'in a better place' so not to overwhelm those who struggle with the concept of 'perfection'? NF deals with these aspects of his struggles with self-worth as, it seems to me' to be the centerpiece of his lyrical mental heath messaging?
Being a psychotherapist yourself please react to Tom MacDonald. Two great songs to start with are withdrawals and balloons. I love your NF reaction I became a fan when he was on a feature with frame all the way back in March 2014. Keep doing what you doing
I believe the transition from mentioning faith as often as he did and laying back from it more recently is that early he was signed by a Christian label
Please react to, NF - Chasing (Demo). I'd love to hear what you have to say, Thank you for taking the time to do this, this was like an intro to therapy for me.
I understand the confusion, since Mansion is disc 4 of NFs actual discography and is where most people start, missing the 1st disc “Moments” which is written on a tape he’s trying to hand out in another video, makes everyone not understand.
Just from watching your reaction videos ad seeing your interaction and just you being yourself! You seem like you would be an awesome therapist! You need to teach other therapists how to do things and not just read from the DSM, but bring real life logic and experiences into their sessions! I’ve been in front of many Dr’s and therapists and only 1 was really good, unfortunately! I wish you where in the NEPA area!
im not religious myself but i respect those who chose to be but NF who used to use his faith in alot of his songs i enjoy those better because it just seems this is the real NF
Alice in Chains Reactions next please! Perfect for your style of review! Right Turn is a underrated song. Down in a Hole would be great too. Or I Stay Away
Recently found your videos and love them. In this video you do mention him not talking about god as much, and I like to believe that early in his career or his life he may have felt god was the only one there to teach him and help him grow, and now through god he is in a better place and a better person. So maybe he still has his full faith but he doesn’t feel like he has to mention it as much. He believes everyone that is a fan knows his faith so he doesn’t have to tell them
Hey loving the reactions. Sice i've seen you have reacted to Juice WRLD i recommend you the song Dark Place. It's a pretty deep song and i think it would be interesting to hear your opinion on it. Love from Spain!
What i like about this music video that it prob didnt cost alot to make but nf still brings the energy to make it good. And its also symbolic cause all he has is the mic. When is the live happening? Looks like you reached the 5k subs :) 10k next week? Haha
I love ur content man! You should try listening to the album “How to be a Human Being” it may not be the type of music for a video however I have a feeling you might enjoy them. Each song is a character sketch about a different person and some of them are in pretty extreme situation such as a woman who is trying to find out if she murdered her own husband. The songs aren’t always clear in their meanings (intentionally) because some of them are supposed to be confusing just how the characters are improved. I’m only recommending these for your (or others) enjoyment but they might take a little research. Anyways they are some good songs.
It should be really hard for me to listen to nf, because I am basically his mother. Unfortunately I find comfort in depressing music to couple my depression. I don’t even know if it’s comfort, maybe I just enjoy feeling horrible. Would like to hear your breakdown of, “I miss the days.” By nf. Have a good one.
Hey Tom! Another great video, I really enjoy your content and I'm looking forward to see more of it. I would actually really like you to react on a Lil Peep Song. I'm living with depression and he's the one who makes me feel like im understood even though I've never met him. I've never had such a feeling with any other artist! Great regards
great video I’ve seen you doing a lot of juice wrlds songs recently and maybe you could check out some of xxxtentacions more somber songs like jocelyn flores, depression and obsession, everybody dies in their nightmares etc too it’d be nice hearing your views on the lyrics he says
This is when he was trying to break into the rapping scene as a "clean" rapper. You sniff lines I write lines. Ie so many famous rappers do drugs but he doesn't. Etc. He didn't get a lot of respect as a "Christian" rapper. He always said " I am not a Christian rapper. I am a rapper who is a Christian."
I really would love for you to do a reaction on Yelawolf Best Friend ft. Eminem! I’m enjoying the NF journey with you! Even though I have already done it before! (-:
Hi Mr. Stevens! Have been enjoying your videos recently and congrats on the influx in subscribers recently! Can you react to Juice and Justin Bieber Wandered to LA? Juice WRLD Empty? and.. how about Righteous by Juice Wrld?
I think it’s because they started classifying him under Christian music and I believe that was blocking him from getting signed etc…. And he wants to get his message out to the broken people and only being played to Christians doesn’t do it
How sick is this,. A therapist that's willing to listen to rap music in the name of commentary. Talk about the opposite of mainstream close mindedness. This is a doctor that can actually help someone,. Just saying
Probably one of his most passionate songs ... and an early introduction to his BEAUTIFUL singing voice.
I have borderline personality disorder and his words speak to me on a whole other level. I feel like what he feels like in so many of his lyrics. I just love it
Thanks for the comment and I’m glad the music is so helpful😊👍
