Indeed, I do feel like HF has less than average spot (narrow and weak, relatively) however, for the price, it’s unbeatable. Guess it really comes down to the specific features
Great comparison video! And I like your calm tone and gentle background music, it makes me feel like I'm having a heart-to-heart with a friend! You must be a very popular person! Good job! Keep it up! Here's a little tip, feel free to take or leave it: Maybe you could put the light-on status text closer to the Taco during the field test. I like the idea of the light-on status indicator, but I have to switch my eyes from the middle of the screen to the top right corner every time, and you switch the lights so quickly that I often have to pause to confirm which light is on. Maybe put the text near the end of the taco so that I can see which light is on with my peripheral vision. I've watched many of your videos and noticed this. Just my 2 cents.
To me the harbor freight allows focusing. Literally. You can get the insane spot for distance in something specific like the AuxBeams with the projector in the center, or Morimoto Bangers. Those things are nuts. I do really prefer a nice warm color as well, and most of the budget chips/phosphors don't do well with either temperature or CRI. That is one thing that I trust Diode and Baja on. Testing CRI is important...
I never really understood the point of a spotlight on a vehicle. The roads and trails I drive are not straight. I want a relatively wide beam. A set of 4 of the Harbor Freight lights each angled outward progressively would give a nice wide spot beam plus terrific peripheral illumination.
Love the design, not the beam pattern though. The light output is there with the Cyber 6. They just need to add a different lens for combo and these will be awesome. BTW have you seen Novsight Rock series?
Surely it is one of the unique looking light, I’d agree if it improves the flood or peripheral area, it’d be a very strong contender to the strongest on the market

@ sure Spot light are made purely to produce a focused long throw of light whereas the combo is a combination between spot and flood. So for the light with combo lens it’s giving half the potential of the spot lens as well as half flood whereas the light with spot is giving full spot beam. In my opinion the comparison should be with both lights featuring the spot lens of both featuring combo lens to be fair. These two lenses have different uses and different preferred mounting locations and different light output from each light manufacturer. You can check diode dynamics spec sheet for different lenses on SS5 and see the different measuring parameters such as lux…etc. The video itself is excellent and very calming with no distracting music and I highly appreciate the time, effort and money that you put on this video. Only as a suggestion: it’s better to compare different lighting companies but make sure you use the same kind of lens on the light to be fare comparison.
That harbor freight is hard to beat!
For me the harbor freight performance is setting the bar , now i need to find similar performance at lower cost ...

For the price, it’s hard to find something similar tbh

thank you and great point, going to try it next time
Great work! Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be coming back for more. In the meantime, I will be picking up some Harbor freight lights
thank you! Glad you like my videos!
great video. I wish the HF blends the light better. the dark lines, at least in pictures, seems distracting.
Loving your videos!!! Thanks! 👍👍👍
All products should be tested like this ...
thank you for the kind words, I try!
The width of the Harbor Freight lights. Be better for traveling on mountain roads and trails.

I agree. But it really is up to the each personal needs of the lights.
Do you have a link to the Harbor Freight lights? Or what they're called? Great video!
I don’t because it can be easily found on HF website. No amazon link sorry.
A very detail beam pattern comparison video, great job, love it.
please add a review for Auxbeam V-Ultra 5 Inch Side Shooter Amber.
I actually have tested the vmax ultra vs the hf 4 lights. Check them out.

@@NovsightAutoLighting Thanks, I love your products and these will be a terrific set with different lenses.
Wrong lens used between diode dynamics and novsight Therefore the result is meaningless
please elaborate
@ sure
