Love watching your videos! Makes me miss white water kayaking so bad, I havnt gone in 10yrs now, injuries from war, 40yrs old and extremely broken my spine can't sustain anymore abuse so my life has turned to shit! But you rock and your videos help me and love to see the amazing comrades and friendship. One of the best things about kayaking. Stay safe God bless and thank you!
I literally started watching your videos yesterday, and now I'm seriously considering getting into whitewater kayaking. This just looks like it's such a blast every time! Love your videos, man!
Yeah bro, ignore the username this is an alt. Been in sport for a few years and would 100% recommend. Make sure to start of slow and with the basics and don't go straight to grade 4 coz it will probably scare you haha. Good luck man!
the best part about paddling is you don't have to run the gnar to have fun. even an afternoon blast down your local class III can be a damn fun day if your attitude is in the right place. you don't have to paddle a kayak either, there are lots of options, kayaks, inflatables, packrafts, catarafts, SUP, etc.
I didn't know your dad but I remember seeing him on the rivers while he was RVing around with you. I can't believe I'm watching your videos now, keep it fun brother.
So good, that was so good, so good, it was so good, so good, yeah so good, I can't believe it was so good, so good, that was so good, can't believe it was so good. Hmmm... was it good?
My fishing trip got ruined by 9 inches of rain in the Texas hill country this weekend. I was going to kayak the swollen lampasas river but it was raining hard upriver the next day on Friday, so I opted out since it was a sit on top fishing kayak.
Sweet videos. This gets me so excited to go hunt some big water. what do you do when you can't focus on work anymore because all you can think about is the next river. If I didn't have kids in school, I'd always be gone
Bro! You make things look so easy that you really need to start with a disclaimer on your video. WARNING.....Do not attempt.........you get the idea. This was some of the most serious stuff I’ve seen you paddle.
Love the POV footage however it would be really nice to see the features from out of the boat no one necessarily needs to be running it just as a different perspective. Footage from scouting the rapid would work it would give a more thorough appreciation of the lines you’re taking.
Noted! I know this run really well so that’s why I didn’t spend much time out of the boat looking. But I try to include it when I do get out and scout.
Pretty amazing. Pretty funny, too. Macho Man and Minute Mouse and Macho Man does this run once, while the Real Star does it daily.... Hoot and holler all you wish....
Hey man- love watching these. How do you recommend someone who has zero experience trying something like this? It seems super dangerous so I'd love to hear how you got involved
Dane was born into a kayaking family, has been doing it all his life, and does it full time (AFAIK). He's one of the strongest boaters on the planet. For a beginner, AKA the polar opposite ( i'm intermediate ) ... find a local kayak club that's friendly to beginners. Get a creek boat or other friendly craft. Take classes if you can at all afford them ( find a highly recommended instructor ). Watch Eric Jackson's instructional videos ( Dane's dad ). Go with experienced boaters who can teach you how not to get killed or just generally worked over (although that's gonna happen sometime anyway) . Put in many, many hours on moderate whitewater. Learn your limits and push them wisely. Learn swiftwater rescue. Learn your local rivers and how to predict flows. Study, practice work out, get decent. From there, you won't need my advice. One more thing: based on my experience, being self taught can be real slow. Find mentors, I say. aaaaaaaanddd.......Best sport ever.
@@coletrudo Appalachia is the cradle of American whitewater kayaking. You should find plenty of knowledgeable folks. Check out American Whitewater website, also US National Whitewater Center. Hit me up if you are ever in western WA.
GoPros already struggle with water in kayaking and gravel in MTBing. I think the quality you're looking for is about some innovative solution for dealing with high entropy scenes rather than framerate.
First you have to get all necessary gear: boat, spray skirt, whitewater pfd, paddle, and helmet. Then once you have all the gear finding a paddle school is a great way to start to learn the basics and there are some companies that put these on as well as some kayaking/canoe clubs.
Does raging nasty muddy water like this scare you at all......I understand you've conditioned yourself over the years......but you've had to put yourself in situations where you realized that was a really bad idea.....keep up the awesome bids and be safe
Some of his other videos are far worse. He seems to think we all want to see endless shots of the sky going round in circles. You'd think he'd start to get bored of stern squirts after 3 or 4 million of them, but apparently not.
Found your videos 2 nights ago.... ive already bought a new kayak, and watched all your videos!! back to the water after 10 years out!
🤘
Welcome back
Glad to see the weekly videos still rolling in, keep them coming! 🔥
Lots more to come

Awesome run Dane.....in the Antix too 🤪🙌
I'd love to do that run well executed mate ✌🏴
Everytime I see chocolate rivers I think of oompa loompa's.
Have at it, you young bucks. What you call a glorious paddle ranks in my time as "not-in-this-fucking-life."
Have fun, and stay safe!
Dano taking it back to 90s metal with that bracelet. 🤣
The right boof at pincushion and right of 4twoO rock are my favorite around this level.

That last hole is a beast!

great video!
In Dane's mind... 🧐"I might want to bump my seat one click up from furthest back..."
Epic lol

Nice Sweet line off the monkey. 👏👏👏
Your videos are the shit, so inspiring even tho i don't kayak. I def want to now lol
i was scared of that hole for you!
Savage!🔥
Epic!
I would love to get into stuff like this but whitewater scares the hell out of me. I typically only raft when I do try it.
Boat is bae. I laughed when you moved your seat forwards. Vintage style, vintage problems :)

Better than all Rollercoaster ✌️
Awesome 😀

How does a river like this compare to a river like tumwater canyon? I know tumwater has some big rapids but this whole run looked like big rapids...
It looks so different that high
Me: has essay due in 2 hours. Barely started.
Kayaker me: YEEEAAH DANE JUST UPLOADED. THIS IS ONLY 12 MINUETS LONG....

It’s where you use your paddle and your hand to push up and over rocks or shallow water without having to get out of your boat.
