Hi, can I just say how happy I am to have found your video. For 2 days I have been trying to follow another tutorial that did cable stitch ' in the round'. I have screamed , shouted and frogged until I lost count of how many times.
So today I decided to have one more go following you tutorial and how easy is it crocheting back and front.
Thank you doesn't seem to be enough for how happy you have made me.
2nd glove tomorrow. 😊
i have been crocheting for over a year i tried every tutorial on how to do the cable stitch never knew where they were going lol, this is the first tutorial that i was able to do the cable stitch thank you so much for this tutorial you explained it beautifully
Rhonda Bykov thank you so much, glad to help!
Why am I so stupid
Great pattern thank you. I made mine with Aran and a 5 hook with 28 chains to start x
Thank you for showing this video on how to do cable fingerless gloves. This was really helpful and easy!
Beautiful pattern and very easy way tutorial. Thanku Mam.
Going to give this a go. I live in the UK so l may need a couple of these.
So cute and you did a great job of showing how to make it.
I made a pair already. Thank you .
So glad you like this 😁
LOVED this pattern! A friend of mine asked if I could make her some hand warmers and I found your pattern here. It was easy to follow and turned out beautifully! I'm so excited that she loves them as much as I do. Thank you for posting this tutorial!
+Alissa Gormley Hi Alissa, I am so glad that you made these and you both love them. Thanks for watching :)
I can,t even do this ,LOL!!!!!!
+Leonor Mateus I an understand that, Leonor!
Thanks so much for this video. I appreciate the time you take to explain everything. It really helps when the instructor stays with you. I used Bernat Super Value yarn so mine are a little chunky...but they still look nice ( I did not make as many cable rows). I did have some trouble getting used to the cable stitch but you are correct once you get the hang of it, you can move right along. I attempted the Cable Hat too but just could not get it .....so I will attempt it again soon. Thanks again.
Excellent tutorial , I'm a beginner and was able to make these. Many thanks!
Elizabeth chikwa my pleasure!
These are beautiful! Thank you so much, I have made different types of these but never a cable look! I love your projects!
Julie Montoya Thanks so much :)
Hi I am new to your channel ,I love the pattern that you are showing us how to do the gloves ; my question is cloud you add three rolls of v stiches after you done your first post roll stiches then continue with the rest of the post stich rolls to make the gloves
Thank you for your video! One down and one to go.
Beautiful tutorial you make it look soo easy, can't wait to crochet them ,greetings from Derry in northern Ireland x x thanks
Thanks so much, Elaine!
Brilliant instructions, thankyou!
Quite right, once you get the hang of it, its pretty simple 🙂. Thank you.
It's wonderful I'm making one like this.. Thanks so much
Que hermoso!!! Gracias por compartir sus enseñanzas. Dios la bendiga 🙏
Vrlo interesantno! Samo se treba latiti posla, ko hpće, može!
u explain very well
my sister and I love ur voice :)
Thanks so much Fatima :)
Great way to learn cables.
Great tutorial! I am soo glad I found your channel! ... :)
So glad you like my channel and welcome!
loooove it,, made a pair for a friend as a present, and im soo jealous i think im gonna make one for me *_*
I seem to have the problem of making a set for myself and then I end up giving them away because someone really likes them lol.
This is so pretty. Thanks.
Coming along nicely albeit a bit thick with #4 worsted weight yarn and a #3mm crochet hook 🙂. Definitely would not be as stiff with a finer yarn.
Excellent video and instructions. I have been struggling trying to get the cable stitch done correctly. I have tried numerous videos and yours is definitely the best. Once I worked along with it I was able to use a different cable stitch written pattern and get just the result I was looking for! Thank you very much. Also, the link to your cabled hat says it no longer exists. Is there somewhere I can get that pattern?
Hi Deb, thanks so much. I am glad that this has helped you. I just fixed that link, not sure why it's not working but here is the link ua-cam.com/video/dso4a_SiG30/v-deo.html
Love this pattern ! thanks for sharing :) oh and i worked it left handed
+Rose Lagos Wow, Rose, that is fantastic! You are really good :)
+Rose Lagos Me too!
Good job :)
Beautiful ty!
Beautiful!! I really love it. thank you soooo much for this amazing video.
Lovely tutorial, thank you.
This is amazing crochet
you posted this on my birthday
+Dustin Adams Oh wow, that's great!
Oh, Thank you!
Hi there! I absolutely love the cable stitch that you used! Any chance you have a crochet cabling pattern/video for boot cuffs? Thanks!
+Jessie Lee Simonetti Hi Jessie, I don't have in boot cuffs, I will look to make one for boots but I have crocheted cables in a hat and in wristlets ua-cam.com/video/RklACo_HeEc/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/dso4a_SiG30/v-deo.html Thanks so much :)
Lovely
These are so beautiful, I just started, 36 chains is making it loose, by about 4 chains, should I do 32 chains or use a small hook, maybe an F hook?
this is beautiful!!!! I simply LOVE it so very much. quick question though I would love to do a project like this with my fluffy yarn I just bought I'm afraid it's too thick. do you have any ideas on what I could possibly do? thanks for all that you do.😺
Hi Kayla. You could use your yarn. You will have to use less stitches else it will definitely be too big.
+GillysCraftWorld thanks that helps a lot!!!!!😺
i jsut finished for one hand and found out in the end that it is way too big for my hand... :/ now i dpnt kno wat to do..i was so excited to try it on.its so beautiful.now i have to redo it i guess
So cute
Wow really impressed
The yarn that I bought didn't state its size. It only has the word M and the colour number.
BTW, I LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS :D
Thanks so much! I have a few skeins of yarn that don't have a size on them and this is a bit of a problem. The only thing to do here is to take a piece of that yarn and go to a store and see if it is close to the size 3. It's not the best way but it can work. Otherwise my gauge is 2 cables (12 stitches) is about 2.6 inches to about 7 rows. So you can make a little swatch and see if yours is close. These don't have to be exactly perfect to gauge but you do want it pretty close. Thanks for watching.
Than u my dear I will make one for my mom 😘
+Lina Lee That's fantastic :)
Ojalá puedan dar paso a paso en español
Mil gracias x tu atención
❤😊❤
Nice tutor thanks😍😍
Son excelentes
👌👍
(: beautiful!! I really love it. thank you soooo much for this amazing video 😍😍
These are very pretty.....I need them to be smaller around the wrist...can you tell me how to do that so that I don't mess up the cable pattern.....in other words....how many stitches are necessary for the cable pattern repeat? Thanks so much
+Connie Frobase The beg of the pattern has 3dc, then the cable consists of 4 stitches and 2 stitches in between each cable, and 3dc at the end. So the cable itself is 4 stitches with 2 stitches in between each cable. :)
Connie, you could leave out 6 stitches, 4 for the cable and 2 for in between the cable. You could also leave out 1 on either side of beg and end of wristlets so you have 6 or 8 stitches less.
I love the pattern however the size of these swallows me. What is the multiple count to get this pattern so I can scale it down to fit. Please and thank you.
The amount of stitches to drop would be in increments of 6 on the foundation chain which translates to dropping a cable section for every 6 stitches you dropped exsample would be she did 36 on the foundation chain but say i want to drop one cable so i do 30 for the fondation chain i still add the 2 extra stitches before the cable but i just do one less cable stitch section. Hope this helps
Love your instruction. Would I need to take off 1 cable to use worsted weight yarn. My sister wants a pair of these gloves and I only have the 4 weight worsted weight yarn
Hi Judith, I would think that would be enough but you might want to try and see if it works :)
This is a great video tutorial, but the written pattern mentions nothing about the treble crochet nor does it mention anything after doing the cables.
in the written pattern ,,fptr is front post treble crochet x
I do have one question, is it possible to make the area around the fingers a little more snug - could you change your hook size so that it narrows just a little around the fingers? Thankyou.
Yes you can try that for sure😊
Thankyou
I am doing these right now. I'm a little confused,. on row 8 of the ribbing in the pattern it says to do it in the fp , BP. but when I watch the video you are not doing this, you're showing it in the stitches. which way is it?
its just in the stitches for that round , the other rows r done in the posts and DC in the stitches x
I'm wondering if there is any possible yarn substitutions you recommend for this fingerless mitts. I can't have bernat yarn here;(
😯 wow
When you leave off and say to continue ribbing for seven rows, do you mean seven More rows? Because when you leave off we are currently in the second row of the rib stitch, so is it five more rows after that or seven more rows
Ashley Uhler you need to do 7 rows in all.
beautiful♥♥
Question...I don't have a 4.25....shoul I use a 4.0 or a 4.5? Thanks in advance for your reply.☺
If you have a larger hand, use the 4.5 and if smaller use the 4. It should be okay 😀
These are gorgeou. It's the sewing that I hate
The one thing I've noticed though is that its turning out quite large. I'm probably going to have to go to a smaller hook size. I'm using a 4 ply worsted weight yarn. I didn't have any #3 baby yarn ( the only other alternative was fingering weight baby yarn 😕) I am already using a 4mm hook as I didn't have a 4.25mm. They are going to turn out too big. That's alright though as the pattern will be "old hat" by the time I'm done 🙂.
Annette Hachey yes, that will make them too big. But as you say that will be good practice lol
@@GillysCraftWorld they are definitely too big lol. Going to see what a 3.5mm hook will do 🙂. I really cant see using the fingering yarn, that would be a nightmare 😱
Annette Hachey I understand, lol. Fortunately they are pretty quick to make 😀😀
@@GillysCraftWorld true. They are so pretty that I'm determined!. If I have too I'll just switch yarn colours and weight. I'd rather do it in the white I have though as white is a pretty universal colour. I'm making them for a gift and colours are limited with gifts, you just don't know sometimes what someone wears most.
nice video. Is there a way to get a written pattern for these and for the hat?
If you look in the box under the video there are some instructions :)
I made one of my wristlets with the right hook and right yarn today but when I started to sow it together, I noticed it was too big. Is there any way I can sow it together to fit my hand without having to undo any of my work?
And by big I mean that they are too wide
+Haley Herrera you are going to have to use less stitches. You could sew it together with a big seam inside but that won,t be too comfortable. I will have to see about the stitches. I made these a while ago so don't remember the pattern out my head lol. From what I remember you will need to leave out the one cable (4 stitches) and the 2 stitches after that, so that would be 6 stitches less. You could also leave out one of the three at the beg and end of wristlets. So that would be 8 stitches less. As long as the cabled pattern works. I would just crochet this cabled part with the less stitches first ( without the ribbing) as a practice to see if it works, as I haven't tried it myself. I am thinking this should work. Let me know if it does :)
+GillysCraftWorld ok I'll try. And thanks so much for helping me it means alot
I'm tempted to try this in a round so I don't have to stitch it together. Hmmmm.
+jeniferlouisem That is a good idea!
I would rather do it in a round too
Lovely pattern but am I able to do 27st instead as 37 is too large around the wrist.?
What's the multiples for the pattern? I'm making these for my sister and she has smaller hands
The beg of the pattern has 3dc, then the cable consists of 4 stitches and 2 stitches in between each cable, and 3dc at the end. So the cable itself is 4 stitches with 2 stitches in between each cable. :)
okay :) thank you so much.
My gloves ended up being WAY too big??
Thanks for the video. Can I ask if you're from S/Africa?
Veronica Farinha yes I am from SA. Do you live there?
No my dear, I reside in Canada, but it was so nice to hear your accent.
Can I do 42 chain for a men's fingerless gloves
Hi Mary, as long as you can get your cable to fit in your chained amount of stitches you will be good :)
I'm using a size "H" hook (5.0 mm ) and my yarn is 4 ply I think. would it still turn out the same or would I have to do less stitches to make it work?
+Haley Herrera Haley, If you use that size hook and the 4 ply yarn your wristlets are going to be too big. You will need to use less stitches.
+GillysCraftWorld ok thanks! And btw you're the first you tuber to respond to me so thanks so so much
My pleasure, Haley. I try and respond to everyone. Sometimes the comment doesn't show up for me and I miss one or two but I do try :) Let me know if you need any help.
+GillysCraftWorld ok thanks!
Pleasure!
Where can you get the written instructions?
The pattern is in the information box
How many meters?
so 4 ply is to big for this project
babynjewelz 4 ply would be too big, yes. If you have a very lightweight 4 ply it might work. If you only have 4 ply, you can still make it if you use less stitches. Not sure if you know how to work it out that way :)
what a smaller hook with 4ply
You can try a smaller hook as long as your work isn't too tight. Give it a try as it is a quick project. You will be able to wrap it around your hand fairly soon and see if it is too big for you :)
beautiful!! i did it!! it sooooo pretty !! i totally love it!! thank you so much for this amazing video !!! 😍 Subscribe! 👍
+Afnan Sabry My pleasure, glad it turned out well :)
+GillysCraftWorld I can,t do this !!!!!sorry🙀
This is a great video tutorial. However, the written pattern needs to be rewritten step by step. Luckily I had the video to guide me. Please rewrite pattern.
Ma'am,how about the knitting pattern of this fingerless gloves?
Note to self:
Left off at 13:07 beginning of the 8th row
Quiero saber mas
Where did u show the cable ? The 30 min is totally about the rib which a kid can do
Not sure where you are because I start doing the cable at 15 min 36 :)
😊
i don't know haw do it
+Daniela Bulat I am sorry that you can't crochet this. Maybe you could try something easier :)
in italiano?
I love the pattern and I thank you for it but you went so FAST it was hard to keep up with you without having to stop the video MANY MANY times!
U can change the speed of the video to 0,75 or 0,5
You went a little too fast for me cuz I'm a beginner. It would be nice if u took beginners into consideration next time by repeating the instructions a couple more times instead of hurrying through it. I had to rewind in order to get the hang of it completely.
You are so fast that is impossible to se
no , i got i t now, thank you , have made to pairs . Thank's for the toturial.
These are really beautiful, Thank you for the pattern, but you do confuse me with your over talking this through.. and I have been crocheting for 50 years... Sometimes is just better to let the camera demonstrate.. Don't mean to be rude, just trying to explain to you, that sometimes less is more,,
u could always watch it with the sound down , for a beginner this is very well explained
