Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. This man can build up 16 bars just by starting ahead of the beat, move to hitting behind, refuse to resolve the bar and then start hitting non traditional notes. Not only can he spit bars super fast, HE’S A BLOODY GENIUS, building palaces around other industry rappers with his lyrics and flows. Another take on the imagery of the MV is that the King is past Suga, a Suga full of ambition and anger (represented by his iconic blond hair from his first mixtape Agust D). This King is a tyrant, who kills those who oppose him and steops in his subjects. Yoongi himself has said that he used to be a very angry person who was overwhelmed with his career and mental health issues (as per a letter he shared on the Bangtan Fan Café, interviews afterwards and his mixtapes themselves). "Bang PD-nim told me I've become much brighter after releasing my mixtape (in reference to the letter and how he released his first mixtape as a way to let out toxic emotions). He even asked me where the indecisive person full of wrath from before had gone. It was my complex and the way to solve it was music that I need to make". Peasant Suga is his current self, grounded and surrounded by others. He's decided to kill the tyrant King through a Coup. He is trying to kill his toxic past self (which can also be a reference to his previous mixtape's song The Last: "Min Yoongi was dead. (I killed him)") to fully embrace who he is now; someone who doesn't care about charts or hatred from others, someone who isn't bothered by money and whose ambitions are less greedy and more rooted in artistry rather than a twisted idea of success. He doesn't need to fight to be at. thetop anymore, he already is. He KNOWS this, it isn't arrogance, it's just a fact; and he's settled with who he is now. I think that listening to both his mixtapes is a great way to understand why the shift between D-2 Yoongi and Agust D Yoongi is so jarring but beautiful as well. Agust D and The Last are a wonderful way to start, so I would love if you reacted to those two songs next! You can feel how much of different place he's in now compared to back then. The Last is very heavy, though, so be careful! Cheers!
The bookish theories explanation video is closer to what you are saying, which is also closer to that Suga himself said about the video. He even said about shooting his power mad self at the end, “I don’t know, maybe I missed.”
RM would rap about his anger and frustration with his peer criticism but Suga takes it to the next level because he suffered in poverty for his art; he had no money, mental health issues, and had no family support because he knew music was his calling in life. He paid for his commitment in ways we can't imagine and has every right to be as angry as he was. He has come a long way in his journey and has grown and healed in many ways, even since this song. 💜
I'm curious about how he would talk about it now. He said we know he fired the shot, but not that Anger died. I think he liked the ambiguity. I wonder how it feels now, a few years later.
about their backgrounds, rm and suga are having same issues. their parents didn't support their path at the beginning, both rm and suga had same mental issues (depression ) but suga's was worse
@@minitwink16 he left home to Seoul looking for bigger chance there. I think if that time his family lived in Seoul, he wont left home. Daegu was too small for him.
Yoongi was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control, all in his "spare" time for his fans as part of his second mix tape (D-2) that he gave to ARMY for free on soundcloud... He literally never stops creating. D-2 Album interview - ua-cam.com/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/v-deo.html BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work - Daechwita explanation ua-cam.com/video/_-4njtd0WpE/v-deo.html (better than dkdktv) I'm not sure how much you know about YoonGi/Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". Video Fun facts - 1. the executioner/the butcher at the beginning - is the director of lighting 2. The gun used was a Colt M 1860 ARMY 3. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when YoonGi was young 4. Oh loved your comment, thank you for taking the time to write it! Also I totally agree, Bookish Theories explain video is my favorite! I hope they check that one out.
Here we go…this man has been wrecking me lately. And that long hair, let me not start. This is going to be amazing. You’ve heard Suga rap, now your going hear AgustD. This is not the sprinkling Suga making things sweet, this is the spitting fire AgustD burning down the whole darn forest.🔥🔥🔥🔥☄️☄️🧨🧨❤️🔥❤️🔥. Love you guys 💜💜
@@preciouslafleur5390 yes OT7 it is. I never know when one of the is going to pop out of no where and melt my heart but it’s inevitable, it always happens. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
this is why you're such cool reactors, you actually took time to research what the word meant and even a bit of what the music is supposed to sound like, traditionally. thanks for caring so much and actually wanting to understand edit: you're prob going to have a meltdown if you listen to the song "agust d" or "shadow" or god, "the last". although my favorite by suga i think is "first love", much softer but incredible writing of the lyrics
I’m OT7 but my bias is Yoongi. Of the rap line I absolutely adore RM’s lyrical prowess and Hobi’s eternal flow, but Suga’s raw honesty gets me every time. You need to check his solos in BTS like First Love, where he talks about his love for music and his relationship with his piano. As Agust D, you must check his first mixtape. I’d say listen to it all in order, because each song depicts his journey since he was in school. But if you must choose one, then it’s gotta be The Last. That’s the one mostly focused on his time in BTS and it’s deep and as raw as it can be. Personally my favorite is So Far Away, either version with Suran or Jin and JK, I love them both (I prefer the one with the boys tho). Ofc Tony Montana with Jimin is a must too. 💜
There's a bangtan bomb of the making of this video where Suga essentially explains the plot, also DKDK TV have an explanation vid. which explains the plot of historical references. Glad you got to see this masterpiece! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🐳
I love SUGA and his music, but if I'd had to choose only one of his songs, I would choose "The Last".. it's so incredibly personal and raw.. I have so much respect for him for actually releasing this for the world to hear, but I'm sure it helped so many more people.. it shows parts of his journey to where he is now.. 💜
"The Last" is the song that cemented him as my bias and I frankly haven't wavered since. I'm ot7 (how can you love one of them without loving them all????) but I did not know that rap could do the things that "The Last" does. It is raw, vulnerable, honest and courageous, especially when you take it in the context of how mental illness is viewed in South Korea.
after getting a taste of d2 yall cant just stop in your track😭 i strongly recommend the song people! i think it might actually be one of my favorite song ever. everything from the production, to the lyrics and the delivery is absolutely perfect. whenever i listen to it i feel like im sitting down with him, having a conversation about human nature and purpose in life. words truly cannot express how much solace this song brings me🙏🏿
BTS rapline really is the best for me, they just not put out music, they put out masterpieces. Everything was well thought out, from the lyrics, beat, concept, performance, everything. if RM raps with his emotions and intellect, and Hobi raps with his heart and body, YOONGI raps with his soul, if you check out all his solo songs (BTS) and mixtapes (Agust D and D-2), you’ll see how raw he gets, talking bout things that other people won’t even talk about. All his fears, weakness, hopes, wrapped into rhythms and flows. The Last (from Agust D) and First Love (Wings) are some of the most raw and vulnerable songs of Yoongi. Intro: Nevermind and Interlude: Shadow are some of my faves too. I hope you’ll be able to check out his mixtapes ‘coz they are really something. I’m so happy you finally checked him out, his collabs are also great. You have a lot on your plate. Can’t wait til you check out Outro: Tear, coz its an out of body experience. Thank you for a wonderful reaction as always. 💜
Descendant of royalty, real name Min Yoongi, os a member of the Yeoheung Min Clan, a very powerful Clan during Joseon dynasty. As other two members of BTS, who has royal blood lines also ( Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung), Suga' family belongs to the same clan as Queen Inhyeon of King Sukjong, Queen Wongyeong of King Taejong, the last empress of Korea. Empress Myeongseong and Empress Sunmyeong all were from this clan. So, Daechwita’s MV is doubly starred by Suga, who is a humble boy who represents the Korean people and is also the king. Yoongi faces himself in an endless battle, his revolutionary and humble side against the powerful, cruel and dangerous part of his personality.
If you can, you should go back the the first minute or so where Suga is walking through the village. he bumps into a man( Jin) and then his pole hits another guy (JK) and they start fighting! Loved the guest appearance from Jin and JK!! 💜💜
Amazing reaction as always, guys!!! Omg, I can’t even imagine what it’ll be like when they hear his other stuff like Interlude: Shadow and D-2 🥲. I feel like they’ll combust 😭….. in a good way 💜😅 But seriously, Yoongi is a genius. I hesitate to call him a ‘machine’ because of the negative connotation the word holds within the kpop industry. But I feel like the only way I can describe Yoongi sometimes, is a music making machine (in the most complementary way ever). The man is so beyond talented, it’s insane. Truly the epitome of someone who lives and breathes music. His production rate and on top of that, consistent high quality (to the point that they call him “the hand of Midas” because all the music he touches turns to gold) is just unbelievable. The music he makes and reserves for himself is absolutely god-tier, but when we also take into account that the sheer amount of music he makes, allows him to give music to people who ask him for it, AND to take a track to a specific artist he thinks it would suit (e.g. That That - PSY ft and prod Suga) it really just shows you the scope and depth of this man’s talent and dedication to his craft. And that’s not even mentioning his OSTs and compositional work for games, webtoons Samsung etc….. He’s just 🤯🤯🤯
Fun fact : the executioner is the butcher Suga meet at the start of the M/V, so he knows him and that's why he's smiling when he's about to be executed.
AHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHH FINALLLKYYYYYYYYYYY I AM NOT IN MY SENSES RIGHT NOW THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR REACTING TO IT PLEASE I WANNNA SEE YOUR REACTION TO BTS PERFORMANCE OF DAECHWITA TOOOOO😭😭😭
Yoongi's solo work is the one I enjoy the most we are completely different people born in different sides of the world with different ages yet I relate to him so much It feels like he is writing about my own experiences. I love both of his mixtapes but especially d-2 the songs on there are just too good. Also you should watch yoongi talking about the album himself I think that would be the best person to explain it💜💜
Warning: It’s gonna be a long comment, but I’ll appreciate it if you guys read it later when you have the time to, as it’s important to me. Despite all the explanation and translations, nothing really did justice to what it actually meant, coming from Yoongi HIMSELF. Daechitwa can be interpreted in many ways as it was explained, but all these never mentioned what it actually meant to Yoongi. It’s not only about history, industry, haters, flex, Bang PD, BTS and ARMY but also about Yoongi himself, it’s personal to him. I would say the line “Put my past into a rice chest” describes the MV the best. Because if you noticed the ‘King’ Suga had blonde hair and ‘bottom class’ Suga had black hair. When Yoongis first mixtape came out in 2016, his hair was blonde. So basically blonde-haired ‘King’ Suga was his past 2016 self, and raven-haired ‘bottom class’ Suga is his present 2020 self. And as it was mentioned the first mixtape was mostly about his teenage years, mental health and his greed for fame. It was shown in the MV how the king was arrogant, it was actually how Yoongi felt about fame in 2016. But then when ‘bottom class’ Suga became king, he killed his past blonde self, as a way to show growth and maturity. That he’s not greedy anymore, he’s satisfied and wants to come back down as there is nowhere higher. Also the ‘king’ Suga was the one who tried to kill ‘bottom class’ Suga. He wanted to take over. In his ‘The Last, from his first Agust D mixtape’ in 2016, he mentioned that his inner-monster is trying to take over him. And that’s what blonde Suga tried to do. But black-haired Yoongi didn’t let that happen and shot him with a gun called ‘Colt m1860 Army', another reference to ARMYs. Him not letting his bad alter-ego take over himself, means that he’s okay now. He’s doing better than before mentally and beat his inner-monster. Also they didn’t explain the scar on his face in the MV, it’s not on his face just because it’s ‘cool’, but a battle scar. That’s another historical reference. Back in the days, when a king had a scar, it was supposed to be embarrassing and humiliating to him. Because he let himself injured, a king’s not supposed to be ‘injured’, they’re too powerful to let that happen. If a king gets a scar, it’s an ugly and embarrassing reminder from a battle that he failed to fully protect himself in. That’s one of the reasons kings avoided battles, as it was mentioned during Gwanghaes story. As they can’t bear the humiliation of a scar. But in the MV, Yoongi proudly became king with a scar on his face. A scar that signifies what battle he’s gone through. And that he can be a powerful king despite having a scar. Because if he hadn’t gone through what he did, he wouldn’t have become king in the first place. That’s why he proudly shows it off. Also the executioner was a butcher at the beginning of the MV. And Yoongi is seen making eye-contact with him, as if they agreed on something together. Which is that he would spare him and hand him a gun. So basically the butcher/executioner was on his side at the very beginning of his ‘bottom class’ days. Yoongi was heavily involved in this entire mixtape. Writing, composing, producing and even the MV was mostly his ideas. So he deserves appreciation for the genius he is. I promise that his entire Agust D discography is a masterpiece that deserves to be checked out and loved. People in Korea were going nuts when Daechitwa dropped and didn’t believe how could he produce a beat that’s a mix of modern and traditional instruments in a way that sounds so good? It’s an extremely very hard thing to do. He’s a literal genius that deserves all the praise he gets. You don’t have to react but don’t miss out on his genius art. An actual fun fact: Yoongi does actually somehow have royal blood, he’s related to the last Korean empress Myeongseong (empress Min) He’s from the Yeoheung Min clan. Also how did y’all miss the special cameo guest appearances of Jin and Jungkook? 😭😭 Source: There is an interview in their official UA-cam channel (Bangtan TV) of Yoongi talking about his D-2 mixtape. He talked about Daechitwa and what it meant to him. There are also more interviews of him talking about D-2.
Ok so one thing...yoongi does NOT have royal blood. I don't know how many times I have had to correct people on this but it's really frustrating. He is from the Yeoheung Min clan, yes. The last Korean empress was also from the Yeoheung Min clan, yes. But since he...ya know...has the surname MIN, he literally cannot have any royal blood, since the royal clan was the House of Yi...the "LEE" dynasty from the Jeongju Yi clan. There was only ONE royal family in Joseon and it was the House of Yi, the Yeoheung Min clan has never been royal and Yoongi would not have been a prince or a king. That's just not how the bloodlines worked in Korea. He also literally cannot be a "descendent" of Empress Myeongseong, because all of her children had the last name Yi/Lee...since...ya know...their father was the king. He might be somehow related to her, but tbh that is also up for debate and I don't want to get into that rn. Please, can people just stop spreading misinformation they have heard in some badly researched twitter posts? This has been a PSA from a frustrated Korean studies Master's student.
@@detektiveconanfreak I apologize for the misunderstanding, however I still think he’s related to her. And might’ve been in line back then. But yeah that’s not for sure, in fact nothing is.
You are the only reaction channel I know of that did the research BEFORE watching the video, and I'm so glad you did. Big kudos for having the idea to do that before experiencing the music.
Personally, I feel like you can read Suga shooting the king in 2 ways: shooting down the systems and institutions who have long ruled the industry but also shooting down the prideful part of him who was being greedy and always wanted more. Because as he’s at the top now, he realizes it’s not all it’s cracked up to be and it’s actually quite lonely there and it’s only created a monster out of his ego (the king). And so past Suga, the pauper, goes and shoots his self (his ego), to humble himself and tell himself that he doesn’t have to keep running this marathon anymore. In his first mixtape, Agust D talks a lot about his past, his journey to the top, and all his inner shadows. In D-2, there is a shift. He isn’t the Agust D of 2016 anymore and he seems to have let go of a lot of his anger. So in Daechwita, it sounds like he has acknowledged his position at the top but also reconciles with the fact that he doesn’t have to keep fighting his old battles anymore.
I'll be honest this is the first thing i've ever seen from you guys and while normally I just skip past anything but the reaction, something about the way you two talk, interact, conduct yourselves etc, it just held my interest.
Actually in Bangtantv EPISODE on mv making, Suga mentioned that the mv is about his egos. The king is his egoistic self, while the modern Suga is there to kill his arrogant self as he doesn't want to become a tyrant, but to stay humble and grounded. This can be seen on the scars on both selves, which means they are the same person.
There is another great explanation video by Bookish Theory that breaks this MV down completely differently. There are also two behind the scenes making of videos for this AND a bangtan bomb of Suga learning the sword dance. In an interview, Suga described the King version of himself as his past selfish/greedy self and the peasant version as his current more humble and grateful self. He shoots the King (old version) of himself, essentially killing off his old self and embracing his current self. The executioner was the butcher from the beginning of the MV and you see him and Suga share a look, plotting the killing of the King. At the end, the executioner cuts him free instead of killing him and then pulls a gun out of the box he was supposed to put Suga's head in. And a historical side note... the actual historical firearm that Suga uses is called "ARMY". :)
If you really want to see how naughty August D is then watch his August D song “August D” or his verses in Cypher 3. After watching them look up what “taking you to Hong Kong” means in english. Hope you don’t blush easily.
I am absolutely obsessed with Suga's mind...he's a true musical genius and his talent is second to none!!! I love your reactions, glad to see you react to Yoongi and his many sides!!! You guys would love Shadow!!!
Been so excited about this one coming!!! The thumbnail is SO indicative of how differently your two personalities react to things. Haha I just love it. 💜🫰🏻
And they say they’re just a boy band. With their music you get culture and history lessons. They’re so deep. Genius indeed. And if I’m not mistaken, Yoongi does have royal blood 😊
1:13:04 the irony is BTS called Bang PD during the filming of James corden week because they were at the top of the charts Maybe for Life goes on. They phoned from the actual real palace. Bang PD said something like you are going places There’s a letter from Bang PD at the end of Bon voyage 1 It will help you to understand
There is another explanation by bookish theories that gives another possible explanation to the song which is really good too. Either way the song is a masterpiece like no other.
Hi, i am back. Great reaction, ty. Of course there is a correct way to pronounce it. Suga does it in the song. So glad you loved the song. Suga kills it every time. The autotune is sick in this. Love it. The live version didn’t have an in-person audience but it was live streamed to 1.33 million people around the world. Hugs. -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜 Like Renee Zemlock said on 12.20.20; Daechwita was the traditional music played to let people know when the King or the royal military was coming through. Yoongi has said that the King represents his past self, the greedy selfish part of who he used to be, and the peasant is his more humble present self. Also, the butcher in the beginning is also the executioner; their look exchanged at the beginning of the vid was them plotting the betrayal and execution of the King. Also, the antique gun he used to shoot the King.... is legitimately called Army. =0) Mark said on 3/18/22 The music at the beginning and sampled throughout actually is Daechwita. It’s traditional ceremonial, military music often used to announce the presence of the king. I think it translates to ‘great hitting and blowing’. Yoongi/Agust D is playing two aspects of himself. The mad king (also called Anger) is himself from the time of his first mixtape ‘Agust D’ released in 2016, and the rebel commoner is himself now (well, in 2020). There are six others in his ‘gang’, representing the other members of BTS, and the young woman who presents him with the car keys embodies ARMY. The revolver he uses at the end is a Colt ARMY revolver from 1860. He has suggested that maybe he didn’t actually ‘kill’ his former self, at least not completely. Yoongi’s three named personas (Min Yoongi, Suga and Agust D) are distinguishable from one another as well as being aspects of the same personality. There’s also a huge amount of cultural and historical reference which is best left to the explanation videos. berha said on 3/18/22 "I wish I knew what that said" - it basically says Daechwita written in Chinese characters. Chinese characters were used for the Korean language before the Korean alphabet was invented. The three characters literally translate to "big," "blow," and "hit" - referring to the royal marching band procession and instruments used in daechwita. (suga and the 2 butchers) is pivotal to the plot of the MV, interesting you picked it! The butcher is the executioner. Suga is making a deal with him in the market place for the end of the video.
Thank you so much for commenting this I am usually not able to grasp the meanings of lyrics and the whole concept well This comment was very helpful in understanding suga's mindset and his thinking 💜
You guys need to react to AGUST D “ the last”. The lyrics and his voice are so raw that it had my eyes wide open and my jaw to the floor. It’s honestly amazing
NO WAYYYY I JUST FREAKED OUT TWICE BECAUSE NOT ONLY DO I GET TO SEE THEM REACT TO DAECHWITA BUT I DID NOT EXPECT MY COMMENT TO BE IN THE VIDEO 😅❤ Thank you 🥰
Thanks guys, have been dying for you to react to this one. First time I ever heard Daechwita, I looked up the meaning of the word and found that it can also be used as announcing the arrival of the King which I think fits really well. Love this and, to be honest, all of Suga and Agust D's music which is a big statement for me as before BTS, I had never liked rap or hip hop music - typical 66 year old great grandmother! Suga IS truly a genius! Love them all though, 100% OT7. It's generally a case of one bias and 6 bias wreckers, changing all the time. Loving your journey, you still have so many treats ahead. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Loved this reaction guys, thank you both! P.s I personally think Bookish Theories explain video better than DKDKTV's, I feel like DKDKTV doesn't do as thorough of a job diving into what Daechwita meant to Suga as Bookish Theories does.
Based on your discussion about that dark shadow inside, you need Interlude:Shadow, though it should probably be done with Intro: Persona and Outro: Ego
Omg when you guys said it was soon, I didn’t think it was this SOON 😭 I’ll edit my comment for when I watch the video but thank you for listening to us 🧡
I agree with DKDTV explanation video but for me it was more of Min Yoongi 2 sides of his personality his ego as king and being famous and the poor one that is humble and has dreams. August d first album talks about his mental problems and struggling to reach fame, on the other hand D2 talks about how Yoongi and Suga grew together and how he feels being successful. Suga got lost with fame just as the king but he came to Shyonta were he realized he had to come back to the ground. For me it was a inner battle of himself, when he realizes what matters the most for him money, being at the top, being a king or having friends like bottom class Suga, having the army by his side. So he decides to kill the king.
Great and detailed reaction as always. ☺️ Yes, Daechwita is read as Dechitah. However, the "ch" on it will be read like how you say the "ch" in church. BTW, Bangtan TV has dropped the Run BTS dance practice. Can't wait for your reaction to it. The guys were so amazing and Yoongi, OMG! He looked like he just came from a red carpet movie premiere and went directly for their dance practice. 💜💜💜💜💜
Oh I can't wait to watch this! I won't get to watch it live, but I know this is going to be amazing. I can't wait for not just your reactions, but for your thoughts. Because this piece is definitely a masterpiece. Thank you Jared and Jordan!
Thank you for your great reaction! Once I started looking into Yoongi's music, I fell more and more in love. His openness about his difficult past and struggles with mental health issues is so powerful, heartbreaking, and beautiful at the same time. His music gives you hope even when it moves you to tears. I would love you to react to First Love. People often suggest his bangers, but I think this song really shows who he is behind all that swagger and how his passion for music has helped him overcome everything. The fact that he is essentially rapping over an orchestra is also stunning! And don't miss out on the live. I get shivers everytime.
You’re one of the most high quality BTS’s reactor. Really appreciated your efforts, you’re really dig in the song/vid plus with your amazing beautiful voice!!! Great job twins!!!!!❤
I love you guys so much and how much you put into your reactions. I do encourage you to check out Bookish Theories breakdown of Daechwita as well. There are so many more details that will blow your mind. 🤯💜
so excited to see you guys finally dive into the man of it all, my ultimate bias! i also cant wait until you guys react to the self titled song "agust d" by him (agust d), its once another aggressive and powerful banger, and his debut of solo music under the name agust d!
I loveeee this song. I even dressed up as Yoongi from this music video for Halloween. I remember when this first came out. I literally watched it like one everyday. Kpop is one of the only things that got me through 2020. Especially Yoongi and BTS. Anyways thank you for reacting to this video and I wish you luck as you continue on the BTS and UA-cam journey.
I was so excited about this reaction! Thank you :) Also, Jin and Jungkook have a cameo in the mv, see if you can spot them! Also, just a heads up: DKDKTV have great explanation video's, BUT personality wise they're not the best. The fandom mostly ignores them cause of very hurtful things they've said about BTS. They say nothing wrong in these explanation video's but they've slandered BTS in other video's and tweets.
i hope yall know i'm evil laughing because FINALLY!!! i've waited so long for this moment to happen...as a rapline bias, which you guys know, this was great to watch and see. suga is so cutthroat with his all his raps, its almost as if he brands those words onto you and you feel them hit every time you listen to him. i cant speak enough about all of the rapline and their greatness. the way you guys went about your research with this one, yet again has me thankful you guys are my forever reactors. one thing i will point out, jared noticing the change of his flows the first time he listened had me in awe because i didn't even really notice until a friend pointed out that the entire actual beat of the song never changes, but because his flow does it seems like that.
I appreciate the honesty and humility in your reaction videos. Listening to your intelligent insights feels like attending a university-level class that encourages a more holistic, more nuanced unpacking of BTS music. Good job!
Pls watch the new uploaded Run BTS dance practice. But i should warn you that video might put your life on the edge of a cliff and you'll found yourself falling deeply down the rabbit hole. The dance practice is insanely hot and energetic. Just watch and see for yourself! Good luck ✨
54:30 no Korean butcher won’t have a gun to execute They have a big sword and they dance before executing Butcher and executioner are the same Suga the king from the streets made a deal at the market. By the way, the gun is a Colt 1860 Army And we can say Suga from the street is from noble descent because the keys chain for his Hyundai is jade and choral (which are more precious in Asia over silver and gold)
The other series Crowned Clown is currently on Netflix. It is one of the first Korean series I watched and gave me the apetite for more. Look out for Jin and Jungkook in the video
I got so obsessed with this song that I learnt it word for word during my final exams in 2020.🤣 Clearly my priorities were set 🤣 I still know it word for word to this day and I'm a South African Indian so, Goals💀😂
@@evantesseract737 You should definitely go for it. ✨ It was super fun to learn it and it's so satisfying after you know how to rap it along with him. I too, even after listening to it hundreds of times to learn, can't get tired of it. I could never. 👀✨
Cheers!
This is so accurate. It made me emotional 😢
@@MK-wq6fw Thank you! It's just my interpretation but I like to believe it's accurate!
The bookish theories explanation video is closer to what you are saying, which is also closer to that Suga himself said about the video. He even said about shooting his power mad self at the end, “I don’t know, maybe I missed.”
👐
I also agree with this explanation
His family did not agree with yoongi's decisions to become artist but never disowned him.
@@tavulliabella8458 true. He left home.
D-2 Album interview - ua-cam.com/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/v-deo.html
BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work - Daechwita explanation ua-cam.com/video/_-4njtd0WpE/v-deo.html (better than dkdktv)
I'm not sure how much you know about YoonGi/Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16.
Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music.
Video Fun facts -
1. the executioner/the butcher at the beginning - is the director of lighting
2. The gun used was a Colt M 1860 ARMY
3. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when YoonGi was young
4. The picture on the banner the guys held up half way through is an iconic image drawn by JK of their boss PD Bang and Suga did the iconic PD Bang finger spin !
5. Find Jin and JK in their cameos
Daechwita is Traditional Joseon Korean Royal Parade/Military Music - notifying all that the king is here
Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times.

Wow. Thanks for the comment. Got to learn something new from your comment.
Thank you for writing down this perfect package of information 🙏🏼💜
Thank you for the detailed breakdown
Ik, Jin became bubble candy pop and Suga Chose violence 😭😭
@@aishu_k02 He sure did, I still clench my heart when I see those locks.
Me too! V is by bias and RM was my bias wrecker, but long haired Yoongi has got me. I’m just OT7. Lol
He's my bias and he constantly bias wrecks me. The blond, then black and then the long hair recently 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@preciouslafleur5390 yes OT7 it is. I never know when one of the is going to pop out of no where and melt my heart but it’s inevitable, it always happens. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
this is why you're such cool reactors, you actually took time to research what the word meant and even a bit of what the music is supposed to sound like, traditionally. thanks for caring so much and actually wanting to understand
edit: you're prob going to have a meltdown if you listen to the song "agust d" or "shadow" or god, "the last". although my favorite by suga i think is "first love", much softer but incredible writing of the lyrics
Talent, skill, storytelling and flex at its finest 🔥🎶💜
Spot on 🙏🏽💜
Suga is so cool in his sword dance...He even learns to do the sword dance himself as he doesn't want to fake it.
I promise you will fell for him more than you used to after this masterpiece. Love you J&J💜
Agree completely 💜
There's a bangtan bomb of the making of this video where Suga essentially explains the plot, also DKDK TV have an explanation vid. which explains the plot of historical references. Glad you got to see this masterpiece! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🐳
The making of video is great for many reasons, including JK and the chicken 😁
Yoongi worked so hard!
Suga is very genius, he only uses the beat of the same song. but looks so classy, everyone doesn't notice. I'm proud
It is raw, vulnerable, honest and courageous, especially when you take it in the context of how mental illness is viewed in South Korea.

after getting a taste of d2 yall cant just stop in your track😭 i strongly recommend the song people! i think it might actually be one of my favorite song ever. everything from the production, to the lyrics and the delivery is absolutely perfect. whenever i listen to it i feel like im sitting down with him, having a conversation about human nature and purpose in life. words truly cannot express how much solace this song brings me🙏🏿
OMGOODNESS I SOOOOOOOOO CAN’T WAIT!!! ME LOVES AUGST D !! This is going to be the longest 3 hours 😂😂😂
I'M SO EXCITED THIS IS THE SONG THAT MADE YOONGI MY ULT 😭😭😭
Sameee😭😭
Impressed that you guys are invested in learning about Suga and the song! Respect.
Amazing reaction as always, guys!!!
Omg, I can’t even imagine what it’ll be like when they hear his other stuff like Interlude: Shadow and D-2 🥲. I feel like they’ll combust 😭….. in a good way 💜😅
But seriously, Yoongi is a genius.
This was one of the first BTS Videos I've seen and I'm not mad about it.
Suga loves to flow right on top of the beat... beat goes down then he'll skim over it... goes up.. he'll layer on top of it. Awesome flows.
SUGA IS A GOAT 🙌 🔥 💜
Yoongi's solo work is the one I enjoy the most we are completely different people born in different sides of the world with different ages yet I relate to him so much It feels like he is writing about my own experiences. I love both of his mixtapes but especially d-2 the songs on there are just too good. Also you should watch yoongi talking about the album himself I think that would be the best person to explain it💜💜
SUGA THE KING 👑🔥🔥💜💜💜💜
Source: There is an interview in their official UA-cam channel (Bangtan TV) of Yoongi talking about his D-2 mixtape. He talked about Daechitwa and what it meant to him. There are also more interviews of him talking about D-2.
Yessssssssssssssssssss
LOUDERRRRRRR
let them knowwwwwwww
But yeah that’s not for sure, in fact nothing is.

fun fact: yoongi said in the vlive after d-2 dropped that he secretly drank a sip of whisky in the bathroom, since he had to “act crazy”
You are the only reaction channel I know of that did the research BEFORE watching the video, and I'm so glad you did. Big kudos for having the idea to do that before experiencing the music.
"Did he sell the heads?" The serious delivery made that so much funnier lmao.
Nov 13, 2022. tiab12, "so past Suga, the pauper, goes and shoots his self (his ego)"
I'll be honest this is the first thing i've ever seen from you guys and while normally I just skip past anything but the reaction, something about the way you two talk, interact, conduct yourselves etc, it just held my interest.
Wow, thank you so much Alistair. It means a lot. We appreciate you! 💜
The MV making of Daechwita is also good. SUGA explained most of the parts. I think you missed the 2 funny & handsome cameos 😅

Like Renee Zemlock said on 12.20.20;
Daechwita was the traditional music played to let people know when the King or the royal military was coming through.
=0)
Mark said on 3/18/22
The music at the beginning and sampled throughout actually is Daechwita.

"I wish I knew what that said" - it basically says Daechwita written in Chinese characters. Chinese characters were used for the Korean language before the Korean alphabet was invented. The three characters literally translate to "big," "blow," and "hit" - referring to the royal marching band procession and instruments used in daechwita.

Now you understand his genius. I so appreciate journey into all things BTS. Your just hitting the tip of the iceberg. Again Welcome to ARMY fellas.
I'm so excited!! cant wait, thank you guys for reacting to it so soon💜
He have crazy cadence, and his flows switch >>>>
Oh I can't wait to watch this! I won't get to watch it live, but I know this is going to be amazing. I can't wait for not just your reactions, but for your thoughts. Because this piece is definitely a masterpiece. Thank you Jared and Jordan!
Suga is just out of this world talented, as are all of them but this masterpiece is just on another level. THANK YOU GUYS!! 💜💜💜
That was fantastic! Thankyou so much guys. Love and peace 🤟💜
You’re one of the most high quality BTS’s reactor. Really appreciated your efforts, you’re really dig in the song/vid plus with your amazing beautiful voice!!! Great job twins!!!!!❤
Yall know I've been waiting for this since day one! 😂💜
Suga is also my Bias wrecker 😂😂😂 love it 💜
Beautiful!!! Thank you twins for this reaction video.
Love how much research you guys did in preparation to actually listening the song!
BEAUTIFUL SUGA 💯💯💯👍👍
Good job!
SUGA , PURE GENIUS!💜
This is AWESOME! YOU WILL LOVE IT!! It's a masterpiece.
OH MY GOD FINALLY DAECHWITA I CAN’T WAIT
Pls watch the new uploaded Run BTS dance practice. But i should warn you that video might put your life on the edge of a cliff and you'll found yourself falling deeply down the rabbit hole. The dance practice is insanely hot and energetic. Just watch and see for yourself! Good luck ✨
If you insist ;) Coming tomorrow Kaheila!
Omggg i just came home from work and i'll go watch it immediately!!! My heart is sooo happy! thank you Jared and Jordan for your hard work! 💜💜
Bang PD has a video clip saying that you can call me friend when you already reached your goal/dream or when you are successful already.
So Ready for this YES SIR!!!! Suga just ate this
not them both missing jungkook and jin's cameo at first 😂
The crazy part is Jordan had the right pronunciation
After the way the pair of you reacted to Suga at Busan concert I've been so excited to see you get to his solo stuff. Keep up the good work.
54:30 no Korean butcher won’t have a gun to execute
They have a big sword and they dance before executing
Butcher and executioner are the same
Suga the king from the streets made a deal at the market.
By the way, the gun is a Colt 1860 Army
And we can say Suga from the street is from noble descent because the keys chain for his Hyundai is jade and choral (which are more precious in Asia over silver and gold)
you need to react to Interlude:Shadow - one of my favorite Suga tracks
The other series Crowned Clown is currently on Netflix. It is one of the first Korean series I watched and gave me the apetite for more.
Look out for Jin and Jungkook in the video
I got so obsessed with this song that I learnt it word for word during my final exams in 2020.🤣 Clearly my priorities were set 🤣 I still know it word for word to this day and I'm a South African Indian so, Goals💀😂
That's super impressive! I can't imagine. I've just started learning Korean and he raps so fast!
@@evantesseract737 thanks 😅😇❤️ it was really difficult tho. Yoongi is so damn skilled 👀✨
@@VrishtiYauvani I can imagine! I'm tempted to try it now. I never get tired of this song. 😁
@@evantesseract737 You should definitely go for it. ✨ It was super fun to learn it and it's so satisfying after you know how to rap it along with him. I too, even after listening to it hundreds of times to learn, can't get tired of it. I could never. 👀✨
PLEASE DO HIS OTHER SONGS TOO CAUSE THIS IS A TRILOGY 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💜💜
I love your BTS reactions...i just subscribed to your channel 👍👍😍🤗🥰🥰
Appreciate you!! Glad to have you as part of the fam 💜
Honestly this song is so fcking nasty I love it and yoongi is always wrecks I love that man he is never too afraid to speak his mind
