My luck has been SO bad opening packs. I have 6 Dialgas and 5 Pachirisus. I had to buy a Darkrai with pack points and get the other with wonder picks. I wish there was some kind of duplicate protection once you get beyond 4 or 5 copies, i mean come on. It's ridiculous.
Man hopefully the next trade update includes some kind of Global trade system to make those extra duplicates valuable. I’m in the same spot with pachirisu
33:15 Lucario does not work with Hitmonlee, it only affects damage dealt to the 'Active' Pokemon. No point running it aside from the generic snipe damage. That said though, i find Kabutops more fun than Rampardos. Immortal Crab Slasher that heals for 70/90 every turn? yes please
one water deck I have been loving lately 1 articuno ex, 1 palkia ex, 1 manaphy, 1 druddigon, 2 greninjas, 2 poke balls, 1 rocky helm, 2 prof research, 2 misty, 2 leaf, 1 cyrus. Either you get the drud in front to block them damage or manaphy to quick charge energy. If you pull articuno first you can smash their unevolved pokemon if you get energy quick. Palkia is good for taking out the heavy hitters paired with greninja you can take out pretty much anything. The greninja cyrus combo needs no introduction. getting the Druddigon with a rocky helmet on it is in my opinion the best tank card to build up the Palkia that 40 damage at no energy cost is so huge.
While it's just playing in the event, gotta say Charizard is looking great right now. Almost no Mew Ex floating around, communication makes getting him online much more reliable, and he's just bulky as heck. Tough without that Mew Ex counterpunch to get rid of him before he's obliterated a couple Pokemon.
@@PocketMads If you consider I won aside one game all games 2:0 and even defeated former ursi champion luci 2:0 I can be proud. Still after T16 I would have had back to back to back Gyarados as Pika which was with the missing Zebstrika hard but Electabuzz was better than nothing 😄 I still agree with what you said. I already mashed the old zebstrika version with the pachy version and it feels more solid. 1 last thing though. Rocky helmet is technically "better" on cards like exeggutor and others but cape is still mostly "better" since we have too many stall decks. So many drudds or moltres ramp are around that a lot of the time rocky helmet doesnt give any value. Cape is more flexible. If the meta becomes more tempo oriented than I agree that rocky helmet is better. for casual games there is nothing wrong - for tournaments I value cape more.
@@ExWhizzy fully agree with everything you said there. Great breakdown overall 💪 cape is literally insane. It does seem that those evolution set up decks might run ramped after the Pokémon communication buff lol. Thanks so much for watching!!!!
You counter charizard with a darkrai and weavile deck that plays spiritomb and two copies and Cyrus. Every Charizard deck I’ve played against quits after I kill their charmander/charmeleon
Just surprised that Togekiss with MewEx hasnt made an appearance. It does well against darkrai/magnazone and Mew deals with charizard. The Weavile/Darkrai gives some trouble though. The Garchomp deck i see can be too inconsistent but Togekiss i definitely see some build being cooked up for next tournament.
Fighting will find its place in the meta. Lucario plus marshmallow plus hitmonlee plus hitmonchan has been super strong for me so far. It’s weakest matchup seams to be darkrai weevile, but does really well against everything else. Super effective against magnazone. Can snipe magikarp. Hitmonchan can one hit a manaphy if you have a lucario.
Thanks for the video, sadly I've had atrocious luck with this extension so far but when I eventually get better cards I'll definitely come back to this 😭
Idk how that Lucario deck placed so high. The Aerodactyl version from the other tournament is way more consistent. I played this Rampardos version, and while very strong, if you dont draw the needed cards you brick like crazy. I played 10 matches and went 4-6. All 6 losses were because I could either never draw a skull fossil or never draw a Cranidos.
My luck has been horrible I've had to buy cards for pack points to even get a decent start at building a new deck and now with the Cresselia EX drop event on top of me getting defeated by brand new decks I'm giving up on the Cresselia drop event and will probably stop battling all together until I figure out the best way to build the new decks I want to start with for Space-Time Smackdown expansion we just got because I updated my Mewtwo EX Deck and it's my best deck but might as well be my weakest deck with all the new decks
gyarados gren got buffed by cyrus charizard moltres got buffed by comms and darkrai magnezone is the current best anti-meta this result is very very interesting
Fire, in my opinion, needs some more consistent for of energy control. Grass has had Serperior boosting everything, Electric has a universal energy boosting card now and a new Trainer, Water has LOADS of energy without even counting Misty, hell even metal (and colorless), Psychic has Gardevoir out the ass, now has heavy boosting with Dialga running the shop like a mob boss. But I LOVE Fire decks, and I LOVE Charizard... and I would love to be able to use mine, it's just impossible in this meta without Moltres, which I've never been able to get.
@@filgo55 tbf moltres doesnt work in blaine aggro, we need a fire version of volkner for ninetails and mythic island magmar so you can get blaine value in a magmortar deck
Excellent break down, your videos really help me with my builds. 👌 I honestly though Weavile and Darkrai wouldve been at the top. Cant wait for the mini set, i really hope other types get the same love like water types.
I think the palkia deck could stand to replace a Cyrus with a Sabrina for emergencies. I found myself getting locked down too easy if I couldn't get that big attack off fast. The unconditional swapping can be a clutch "get off me" move. Especially against Darkrai/Magnezone which doesn't have great answers to positioning interference. I don't think it's a perfect counter but it adds flexibility.
@PocketMads yeah 1 each is what I meant. I keep Cyrus till late game when I've hopefully gotten a good attack off and Sabrina for the early game to force out druddigon, poach a magnamite if I'm lucky with vaporeon, or just force a waste of energy if I think they don't have leaf or x speed available. It doesn't shut Darkrai down and of course if the cards just refuse to exit the deck youre hosed but ive found having the options is worth it.
Idk this take of yours: a deck that has an electric always counter a deck that has a water. Gyarados still one hit everything on darkrai zone and doesn't get 1 turn killed anyway, so i don't see big disadvantage here.
@@PocketMads for sure man, watching the players shift the meta and keeping tabs on it all is one of my favourite things about this game and tcg's in general, and these videos are such a fun way to get all that info. so thank you !
fighting decks just aren't good against druddigon that's why everything you hit them with makes you lose 20 hp and fighting decks already have lower hp max since they're playing so aggro then magneton comes in and kills your pokemon then you revenge kill magneton with something but they only lose 1 prize so now they just put in darkrai ex and kill the rest of your team
This meta will not be as diverse as last meta 😢 Paychic decks completely dead because of the stupid weakness mechanic, i prefer when cards are countered naturally, like hitmonlee vs magicarp, or how gio counters blue, i dont like paychic decks being absolutely murdered because darkrai, just like water in the first meta because pika
Excited for this metagame. I don't think Gyarados and Zard doing well on week 1 means anything TBH. People are already familiar with those decks and others are experimenting with new cards.
Bc its a stage 2 fossil that cant 1hko anything and gets 1hko’d by alot so the healing aspect isnt relevant. Cool fun deck to get some wins with, but pretty terrible relative to the comp meta.

i picked the 80% of nothing in wonderpicks like 29 times in a row now. getting tired of this game.
My first two exs were both lickilicky
The rampardos deck feels strong but it bricks so hard when you cant find the fossil
If they have a card that searches a fossil, Rampardos will be unstoppable.
That’s why you just draw the fossil! If you don’t it’s a skill issue 😏
@@PocketMads👏🏻 just draw the card problem solved
100%. The Aerodactyl version is way more consistent
What about dropping hitmonlee for chattot
The kangaskhan seems like a clever adjustment vs manaphy. It feels pretty bad when they set up in front of your druddigon for free
Very good point!!!
i heard it's good against mirror match too
