- Join me on full tour of Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas. The first fully-fledged five-star resort in Greece, Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas put the the sleepy fishing village of Elounda in northeast Crete on the map in 1971. Since then half a dozen pretenders have squeezed into Mirabello bay, jostling for a sea-view slot, but Elounda Beach will always have the prime position.

I live in a third world country and I don't make so much money to travel abroad. Not even once. But almost everyday I turn on my UA-cam to see the luxury travel expert channel. Well this is not an inspiring story but it is my story.
money and luxury do not equal happiness. Mental health and one's own well being can though.
I live in a third world country too, it’s called United States of America. Wasn’t a third world country until recently.
In all seriousness, money won’t make a difference. That’s why you see the happiest people are in countries that are poorer. I’ve visited quite a few ‘third’ world countries and never seen happier people.
Come to America and the majority of people here are on medications because of how unhappy they are with their life, despite having all the materialistic things that ‘should’ make you happy based on the commercials etc we see. Like this video for example 😁
To be fair, I’ve stayed in many of these hotels and all this “luxury” is often overrated. It’s not that’s great. A beach is a beach, and I’ve had better food in third world restaurants off the main road than in many luxury hotels. Although this is all well filmed so it’s fun to watch.
Don't worry be happy I live in Greece and I can't go anywhere because of money the same problem!
How can i rejoice these concrete buildings when nature to me is more beautiful . And scenery and nature is equally good in 3 rd world country .
I am from india , india is developing but earlier it was poor ( now i dont know if it is still considered poor or not ) but it has most beautiful landscape and scenery and it has all 7 star hotels too .
But you can stay in a hostel and enjoy the nature , landscape than enjoying the grandeur of hotel .
Nature is much more beautiful for me .
Depression in usa is way more common than the people in poor countries , in india people are poor yet they donate ( same things may happens with other countries as i dont know , so cant tell , but people in rural india are so pure and good whereas in cities, people have money but are depressing, cruel and wicked .
The one which has less money lives blissfully in mountains , near forests but the one with money cries in Mercedes .
Ps - i am from upper middle class family with lot of property inherited so i am rich ( aint a thing to boast as I consider money equal to trash if it cannot help others or provide happiness to family, society, community ) , i live in city and have seen village life as used to live there till class 8 . Money could never solve my anxiety and depression problem rather gratitude, humility and practising spirituality did make my life go blissful
Thank goodness. I sure need a mini virtual vacation during these times. 2020 my worst year ever.

Amazingly awesome, such a huge property catering to all the possible needs of affluent guests. Designs, the huge lobby, specially the entire building for spa is unique. A fishing village blessed by huge hospitality for the tourists.
What a memorizing place. Again thank you and be safe. Hopefully the airlines won't jack up the tickets, when we can all travel again.
Great review. Crete is an amazing island if you are interested in archaeology. There are numerous sites dotted around the island. My favourites are Phaistos and Malia which are both amazing ruins to explore. Knossos is always swarming with tourists. The Phaistos disk can be seen in the Heraklion musem which is well worth a visit. The Samaria Gorge in the western part of Crete is also an amazing place if you like a good hike, although I would not recommend it for anyone who is not reasonably fit, and I would not attempt it during the months of July and August when it is incredibly hot. I really miss travelling although I am writing off the first half of 2021 as well as the rest of this year. Your reviews however are the next best thing.
Stayed at this hotel on my honeymoon a few years back ...it did not disappoint ! Timeless elegance and quality and oh so romantic ! It's all in the details which you can't capture unless you are there :)

See I knew Heraklion had to be on that list of yours. And Olivia and Viktor got to tag along. (read: Very jealous) I loved the surf float sequence. And i had to laugh out loud when they wiped out ! it looked like so much fun ! I love Greek history, thank you for sharing that with us. Reminds me of the scene over at AmanZoe. I picture togas, in dark burgundy, blue and white. hair all done up with gold pins, nymphs playing lyres by the fire pit at sunset no less, and OH, a LOT of wine ...
This is amazingly beautiful. In fact my neighbor conceived when she was in Crete and named the baby girl after the name of this beautiful place.

I love this hotel. Can remember when they added the bar on the small peninsula. It's 15 years ago or even longer. It hasn't lost any of its charme.

I lived in Agia Pelagia for a year. I love Crete. I've only been to Agia Nicholas on the west side of the Island. Elounda Beach looks great! That hotel looks out of my price range. But it's nice to experience it and others through your videos. Thanks! Oh by the way, did you sample the local "raki"? The people in Crete are proud of their homemade alcohol. They have barrels of it out for sample in the streets of Heraklion and Agia Pelagia!

Elounda is a beautiful little village, with Plaka nearby it is excellent for visiting Spinalonga.

Hello, Elounda Beach for me used to be a 5star luxury resort in the older dates but not any more. The yacht suites and the waterfront suites are the only refurbished part of the resort, everything else is so out of date. There are other truly 5star luxury properties in the area like Blue Palace and Minos Beach.
I wonder if that was one reason he was upgraded, to feature the best part of the resort? But whatever reason, his suite was phenomenal indeed!!!!
just one suggestion: could you reference the name of the background music at the end of your each video clip as well? they are awesome!!

Oh man...this is the spot of my dreams..berth place of the Greek god ZEUS...Heraklion looks like a place i would just melt way in total bliss. Was this trip during COVID-19? 6:30 love the furniture here. I am totally a beach guy/water baby..not into pools at all..water looks really nice 15:30 .
have been on Elounda Beach about 50 years ago, quite a difference...problems with electricity, running water etc. but nice indeed!
