I Think I'm a Mother
Is This Desire?
She is so great and I love the questions, I get the sense he really loves what she does.
I attended this taping. It was such an amazingly intimate performance to see in person. And I'm thrilled to see it preserved here in its entirety.
Amazing to hear, I watched this like I was there, I can't imagine it live!
New Album coming in 2023
She doesn’t get the credit she deserves but I will always love her sound.
her performance of taut was just... i literally have no words. so much raw emotion
I was in the second row front at this show. I remember some Island Records guy owed me a favor and got me the ticket, and I remember that I couldn't get a +1, which really hurt my best friend, who introduced me to her music. It was amazing.
Did it seems as compelling of a performance back then live in person as it does in watching this performance long after the event?
@@HidingFromFate Yes. It was really great to see it again, and have my memories confirmed!
Thanks, glad to hear that!
I had that same friend. :) I was channel surfing and I saw the intro to this show. I had the presence of mind to throw a VHS tape in a machine and recorded it for him. Have loved watching this ever since then.
This is my favorite period of her music. Love it all, but this is mysterious and powerful.
I miss W54th. So many great sets captured. And this PJ set is one of the most mind blowing live sets ever. The music is so good and so impeccably performed. I love all the PJ/EDF collaborations, but this first one was magical.
Easily my favorite performance of hers. We have the privilege of witnessing her flawlessly delivered incantations on the verge of astral projection. Eric Drew Feldman is a legend. John Parish is my guru, and Rob Ellis turns a kit into magic. A perfect moment in time.
The beautiful, incomparable Polly ...
The 98 pj harvey/is this desire? period is gold....music wise as well as her looks and style
#Commiseration
Polly's strength is in her weakness. Her image changed.

the VHS dub adds another layer of warmth, love it
Utterly, utterly magnificent.
Total goddess.💜
a favorite period ...
This is the show that hooked me. Was already a fan but once I saw this I was gone..........
She's just outstanding live, consistently better than on record.
David Byrne Presents PJ. Much musical genius in one room ! 😎
Byrne unsurprisingly very good in his job as interviewer - a naturally curious person.
chemistryset1 Agreed. Sessions was a great show. Too bad PBS doesn’t make these past episodes available.
Beautiful.
PJ is great! She's wonderful....
El flequillo más injustificable de la historia, y aún así sería una emperatriz romana. Imposible no enamorarse de ella.
Perfect performance. She is powerful.
this song makes me feel like a lullaby
I love the matching black telecasters.
I love the album is this desire
1998? Polly Jean at her best. Is This Desire? A well under-rated album.
🖤🖤🖤Love, Love, Love - my favorite female artist ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing this. I wasn't able to attend this concert back in the day. Gorgeous performance as always.
Pure Magic! Her strongest enchanting period... Thanx :-)
My favorite period too.
Still magistral today.
I know she'll never put out a best of but she should definitely release a b sides box collection
Thank you so much for posting this! I have lost my copy of it. She is a musical genius....
j adore!!!
Absolutely and deeply divine.
Phenomenal performers, miraculous artists!
An artist how i'm getting into being introduced and interviewed by one of my all time favorites :)
This video is such a gem. Thanks for sharing.
I saw this when it came out and I thought I was so lucky to have been able to see this! Thank you so much for posting this
"It's the artist's duty not to know what they're doing". So true, and so funny! And so, "Taut", a song about not knowing what you're doing.
Thanks pal for this.
ThankYou for posting!
Brilliant!
Maravilhosa! ❤️
She looks really beautiful here
Canal WeBeartv She always looks beautiful and always will - she exudes beauty from within.
Very Creative Work. Excellent Perfomance!!!
Thankx! Thankx! Excellent Video the best phase of PJ the fringe hair. Tankx!
Tout de la dame est absolument la.
❤❤❤
I have a few regrets, not seeing Peter Green live, and this is another. Can I go back and see her this time singing Catherine de Barra?
Great
It’s not new style it’s just a great style
All hail the queen of darkness
I hail Christ alone. She is an excellent musician, nothing more.
Polly Jean in 1998 > 1995 > 1991/93 > 2001/2004 > rest.
PJ Harvey never fails but i think Let England Shake is her masterpiece.
I hate doing quiet songs nothin but eggshells to creep on🥶
David Byrne looks nervous like he has a bit of a crush?
IS there a known date for this?
Androzani Critic I believe this was 1998, perhaps 1999.
It says 1998
if you have it, could you please post your the second half of this episode, with Chocolate Genius?
Sorry I only have the PJ portion
Catherine and My Favorite Game by the Cardigans have some very similar vocal hooks. Both came out within a couple of weeks of each other in 1998, so they couldn't have borrowed from each other.... So are they both borrowing from someone else? Or did they just right the same melody by some amazing coincidence?
does anyone have a track listing?
I've added the setlist to the description above.
Thanks!
Does anyone have time stamps for this?
говори громче
I have hear quite a few artistic geniuses in my time. This is definately Not one of them...
Name a few.
Bye bye then.
Not to your taste then. What's your point?
