HI - every time I make a video like this, everyone subscribes to it, which is why I made another video lol. If you're early you can see these verified channels while they still have a low amount of subscribers!
Like 10 years one of the requirements was simply getting 250k views (or around that number) on a single video. I had no idea what verification was. I thought it meant you just claim the name of your channel so no one else can have that name and I just wanted to have my name not be taken lol. Now verification is a much bigger deal. So anyways now I'm constantly being asked how I'm verified and it's pretty annoying. I should honestly just unverify.

UA-cam basically opened up the flood gates for verified channels and MCNs assisted a lot in this and this is why they change the program just like they did with the UA-cam Partnership Program.

*Actually, the channels that are verified with such little subscribers is because a long time ago, you did not need a certain amount of subscribers to get verified. So most of the channels just submitted a request to get verified for just like no reason.*

I didn't see this mentioned in the video but you could also get verified if you had a lot of followers on Google+ when it still existed. Correct me if I'm wrong though!
Verification badge is pretty hard to get, If you want to stand out in comments though, try getting a OAC badge. Those badges are eaiser to get (just have to make some music).
