I have a chip on my windshield that does not have an opening and I cannot feel it from outside, but it is like a line or crack from inside of the windshield even though I cannot feel it from inside of the car too. I tried one of the repairing kit and it did not work out. do you think I should scratch it and make an opening above the or leave it like that.

Did it actually help? Or worsen? Some said help some said worsen.

Is it worth fixing tiny nicks or just live with them

In my opinion it’s best to fix them. Particularly the larger ones. They are typically the places that end up cracking and ruining the windshield.

@@bubbasfabrication I’ve a Porsche and very fussy about it
I had a new windscreen fitted last September due to a lot of them but have one now tbh it’s the size of a pin head but slightly in my field of vision. They keep telling me its not deep enough or big enough for resin to bond too hence the local windscreen company aren’t interested🤷🏼‍♂️

With that cheap kit you did an ok job. I do windshield repair professionally. You always want to lay the curing tab on the windshield from the bottom to the top on the glass and do not push on it. The resin will naturally run down the windshield and spread as the tab touches the windshield. Secondly, you want to scrape the resin of the windshield with the razor blade at a 90 degree angle to the glass or the repair may not be flush with the glass or you may pull the resin away from the repair. Also, you may want to use some pit polish on the repair. This will give it a more translucent look. In some states that require an inspection you want it to look its best. Normally a repair is done with 2 different resins. One is thinner to go into the chip and a pit resin, which is a harder resin that goes on to of the repair for curing.

@@andynorth426 ahh I see. You could give it a shot. It’s fairly simple repair on your own. Just take your time.
