Afternoon Tea Party Inspiration (Behind The Scenes + Tips)

Today's video is a little different than usual, as I wanted to give you a behind the scenes look at our afternoon tea setup, as well as tips. My family threw my sister an afternoon tea party for her 30th Birthday, and it was so beautiful I just had to film it. I believe this could be great inspiration for you when it comes to afternoon tea ideas for throwing a Birthday party, Shower of any kind, or any intimate event at home. Afternoon tea typically consists of savoury bites in the form of party sandwiches, quiches, etc.. as well as scones with cream and jam, and then desserts such as macarons, madeleines, eclairs, tarts, and cakes. Many things were homemade, and some things, such as a lot of the desserts were store bought to make life easier. The best part is that a lot of this can be done ahead of time to make your life easier the day of when it comes to setup and decor. As this was for my sister's Birthday we also wanted to feature her Birthday cake as the centrepiece. We decorated the table with a few fairy-lights, and of course you need your teacups and saucers, as well as teapots and plates, and so on. I do not go too in depth into recipes in this, however I will link a few that I used here, such as my scone recipe, because truly - they are the best scones ever, and so easy to make! You can get creative in terms of desserts and savoury bites, but you cannot have afternoon tea without scones!
