A LOT of poor quality drugs and binge watching B-grade shark movies went into the making of this flick. I mean this movie was seriously bad so much so that the Sharknado and Mega Shark movies now look good to me just by comparison. Then that "guardian deity" thing at the end that was so obviously a throw in cause they couldn't figure out how to end this thing was just the worst thing EVER; the LEAST they could have done was to hint at it somewhere before hand. I mean even the female MC was like, WTF.
Numbers of B Movie film producers should know they can't get good CGI with the budget they have. Instead, they could get realistic motorised puppet practical effects on similar budget which make the movie realistic and the actors/actresses won't feel ashamed to act in the movie. I am not sure what are those B movie producers thinking, refer old Italian movies such as killer crocodile 2, it looks scary with the realistic moving motorised crocodile violently destroying small boats and grabbing victims. My comment on this China movie: 1) why aren't the beachgoers male & female wearing proper swimsuit (male bikini briefs or trunks, female 1 piece sunseekers Speedo, arena or 2 piece bikini) 2) the military commander uniform looks like US marine official attire on ceremony. 3) if don't have budget for good CGI, the helicopters, ships, sharks could be made with smaller scale miniatures or full size motorized props. Studio ADI from US is offering affordable price for the props and special effects
This was the moving and dramatic real to life moment i have experienced since I ate those funny tasting mushrooms for breakfast.
