Thanks for the video, lot of tutorials out there, but a lot of them don't explain the step of making the move to applications. Thanks, this helped save me time and effort.
Thanks Grace🙏 hope my video helped you
I just had to update an old MacBook Air that had Lion (10.7) installed and your video was extremely useful. Thanks a lot!
Thanks bro hope it helped you 😊
thank you so much, bro, your explanation of the process was so goooood. I was getting mad searching and searching, but then: your video. Thank you so much.
Thank you bro. I hope it helped you 😊
volume of music was too high and distracting. your information is the most important. Please keep up the good work that you are providing!!! Thank You!!!
Thanks bro. Actually that was my starting videos so didn't know about background music 😅 but now I put music too low👍
There is no "Show Packet Contents" when right clicking on the .dmg file. I double-clicked the .dmg file and got the .pkg, but get stuck from there. Found a couple of videos on UA-cam for using Terminal to extract the contents, but i am a total novice at that so couldn't get to to work. I have the .dmg file on my desktop.
BTW, I am trying to create a bootable USB for my 2007 iMac with OS X El Capitan 10.11 installed. I tried downloading the Mountain Lion upgrade, but it gave me an error. Now the computer boots to the OS X Utilities screen but when i try to reinstall Mac OS X (El Capitan), it gives an error.
You can't create a lower version installation file on a higher version of OS. As you are running a el capitan then it's not possible to extract the mac os look contents. You gotta need a Yosemite or some lower os for that
@@malkeetsinghacademy Oops that's where I was going wrong I was trying on High sierra
@@malkeetsinghacademy Thanks for leaving this comment. I have been searching for nearly two hours before finding your video here. and thanks @adamriceyoga for asking the question. The only Macbook I have is too new to create the bootable media, but then that lead me to searching for the alternatives. Supposedly I can just hold command + r to get into internet recovery to reinstall this. Currently waiting on that to load, and hopefully this works.
Same boat, all my macs are too new. So I have tried that command R option, it fails, NOTHING WORKS. I have 2 imacs I want to give away but clean installs and this is turning into a total time sucking disaster. So if you are trying to do what this video says and make a bootable disk for older system than the computer you are making the usb boot drive-it wont work.

Its works thank you for the video
Thank you 😊
@@malkeetsinghacademy no prob
I am using macOS Big Sure. It doesn t work to install the dmg file of OS X into application folder. Is there any solution? Thanks
Big Sur is the upgraded version it will not allow you to install. Try with making bootable USB drive for the Mountain Lion then you can clean install with your previous os
can we make this from El capitaN? i need to downgrade a iMac. i dont have these disk utilities partition and restore options on el capitan and above.
To downgrade you need a lesser version of operating system
will this work with High Seirra?
Yes it will work
I really can't install the Mountain Lion application...It says OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with my computer. I am using Yosemite like you...I really need to go back to Mountain Lion, tried everything but so far I had no luck (tried on El Capitan, got the same message)
Actually it depends on the model number of your OS. Yosemite and all the other os are higher than lion so you cannot downgrade Mac like that
i using a macbook air running high sieera. idid download the lion software but is not shwoing package contents
Lion is down version so that's why you can't see the package contents
You're doing great Sir
Thanks alot sir g
This work for windows 7?
Yes it is
Great content bro.
Glad you think so!
When restoring (4:45) I receive the following error, "Could not validate sizes - Operation not permitted The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error 1.) Operation failed...
Try to format your pen drive again and then make the partition hope it works
@@malkeetsinghacademy I have no problems formatting the drive (successful). Unfortunately, the restore option fails every time.
Hmmmm which os you are using to restore
@@malkeetsinghacademy macOS Catalina V10.15.6
it suppose to work but somehow you are getting this error message may be the installer drive ( the dmg bootable file ) is corrupted or something so what you can do here
Re download the dmg file again and try to restore that
when I open the DMG file, I only get a PKG file, not an APP file
Maybe it is corrupted
where is the destination button on Catalina?
I don't under bro which destination button?
my disk utility doesnt have those functions
It must be there please check
doesn't work on Catalina
Yes, not going to work on a higher version of mac
