- I took the Triumph Speedmaster for a final ride to Aylesford in Kent.
We found a great little coffee spot on a canal in Maidstone for a coffee.
And my final thoughts on the Speedmaster!

Group hug for Freddie, thank you for being such an ambassoador for the English countryside!
I came across your 1st Speedmaster video, showed my wife, we are in the USA and genuinely admire your Countryside, way of life, and that review. Just purchased a Speedmaster, traded in my T-100. You are 100% correct ! 👍 I did not like the handlebars , was planning on changing them, until the 2nd day riding, Now I love them. Best bike I have ever encountered hands down. Great Channel ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks Brian!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
And I’m delighted to hear from a Speedmaster owner and that you felt the same about the bars!
I just purchased a 2007 Speedmaster for $3000 CDN. So excited!!
I'm looking between t100 / 120 or a speedmaster. Price does bother me a bit but it's a piece of art. Not sure which to buy yet.
Great vid Feddy and Monica, I am from NZ but my mother lived her early years in Kent, told me how pretty it is now I can see for myself 😊
Funny enough, regarding boats and bikes... I’ve found two things in life that literally get me giggling like kid: being on my bike and being out on my boat. It’s ethereal. Keep up the excellent work, sir! Cheers from California!
Perfect way to start a Sunday morning. Spot of breakfast and chilling out watching this lovely countryside and even lovelier bike.
I'm delighted you're highlighting my local area. Kent has so many beautiful spots and some great roads linking up medieval village after village. I love the vibe on your VLOGs.
Hugely appreciate it, and I totally agree- Kent is full of stunning spots!🙂🖤👌🏻
Great stuff! A very entertaining and philosophical video. I like your enthusiasm and spot on comments together with the lovely music as the Swedish piece “Bullfest…” Keep it up Freddie! 👍🇸🇪🤗
Thanks Roland!🙂
Speedmaster reviews tend to end up with folks enoying cake and tea instead of discussing 0-60 times. That's what i love my Speedy for.
Your enthusiasm and the fact that you leave in any mistakes you make (along with the great places you visit...mostly my old haunts of youth....) are the reasons I watch anything you do! Sultana Bran brekkie and this vlog.....canal 'doors' .....cleaning brekkie off my screen! keep it up mate, keep it real!
Such a stylish video Freddie and beautiful locations!!
Freddie, I just discovered your channel this morning while searching for 2022 Speedmaster reviews, as I sat on one yesterday at my local dealership and I’m seriously considering it, and I watched both of your Speedmaster videos. You are fantastic, and hats off to Monika as well! She does a fantastic job of filming you.
Also, I really appreciate your comments about the “beach bar“ handlebars… I had the exact same feeling as other commenters that you mentioned after sitting on it at the dealership, so I appreciate your hands-on experience, I am more comfortable with that knowledge.
Another great video which communicates the heart of motorcycling - life-enhancing fun 😎 Good work.
I'm in Canada and own the 2019 Speedmaster and I love it! Suites all my riding styles. A remarkable piece of machine. I love your reviews too. Keep them coming. Cheers!
Beautiful Triumph and beautiful village. Yes, a love story.
Stunning! Absolutely amazing, mate. We would like to see you in Canterbury ✌️
Thanks Andrei and great shout- I love Canterbury!
Had my Speedmaster since they launched them in 2018. I will be keeping it. It love the roads around Norfolk and steerer its self around the bends. All you need to do is think about the turn, it does the rest.
It's such a pleasure to watch your little and bigger adventures, this is how I always imagined motorcycling as a whole experience not just the machines. Thanks for all the great videos ❤
Another wonderfully presented video and a pleasure to watch for me and my wife. Kent looks idyllic for motorcycle fantasy. The Speedmaster looks a nice bike but one major drawback, no pillion seat for Monica. Tut tut Triumph, there should be an option, we don't all ride alone. Good stuff Freddie, I am about to trade in my G310r for a Yamaha Tracer 700, now I can get my leg over it. I am 73. Keep up the good work.
Thanks John! I was so disappointed when the bike arrived with no pillion seat! Ah yes- the Tracer 700- I've heard extremely good things about that bike🙂
he has a 'Press" bike for the review. He has mentioned this in the previous video. I can assure you that the Speedmaster, in fact does come with a pillon
Thank you very much for the Speedmaster review. I had to wait almost two years, but I already had the pleasure of leaving a Triumph dealer riding my 2024 SM.
I have been looking at road kings and other big cruisers. I went into a shop yesterday and the sales lady introduced me to a speed master. It is a 2022 with 4500 miles on it. I sat down on it and instantly I knew it was for me. It feels like no other bike I have sat on before. Thanks for confirming my feelings of this bike!
❤️. This reminds me of many bike rides through beautiful unspoiled parts of Kent. Must do this again, maybe next Summer when hopefully we’ll be back to normal life.
Love the videos you guys do! A review about the bike and then a tour about the place where you are with little facts along the way! Then a review about the gear your wearing! Absolutely fantastic Freddie and Monica! Looking forward to see what you get up to in Tenerife
Great content, I can guarantee this channel hits 100k subs soon.
Thank you John!🙂🙌🏻
Hi Freddie, i rarely write comments but i felt that i need to tell you. your reviews are amazing, captive, great personality! you and mr darcy and the old man's review of this bike made me determine to get this!
I am becoming a real fan of your channel. The way you appreciate details is how I travel too. The Speedmaster over any HD or Indian for sure.
0:34 The BMW Owner's Handbook actually used the phrase "Gentleman's Motorcycle" up until about 1995. Not a lot of people know that....
J love little bits of history like this- thanks for sharing!🙂
@@FreddieDobbs My pleasure.
Your videos make me very homesick. Not much else does!
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thanks Freddie and Monica
Again excellent vlog, very watchable and entertaining, keep em coming Freddie. 👍😊
Great vlog, Freddie! Nice summary of the bike. Thanks for doing what you do!
Another cracking watch. My local area, we've sent a link to the coffee house owner for a watch☕👍 thanks for the watch
Just purchased the Goldline Speedmaster LE. As you said, this motorcycle is a work of art! Great review and video! Thanks!
Interesting view on a bike I would never have looked at in the past................and locks will now be "canal doors" to me forever!
A ridiculous mind blank from me!🤣🤣
Just bought the 2022 Speedmaster in red. It was between that and a Harley Heritage. I put the Triumph floor boards on it with the heel/toe shifter. Love the bike and the handlebars. I'm in the USA just outside Boston. I first sat on the Triumph Speedmaster in Daytona in 2019 and immediately thought "this is really nice". Now I have one. Great bike, very comfortable, very beautiful. My first Triumph.
That's really interesting, because the Harley Deluxe and Speedmaster would be my shortlist, so very interesting to hear that you went for the Speedmaster!🙂
Catching up on your videos Freddie, it’s “Labor Day weekend “ here in the U.S. It’s a time when Blue collar families break out the ol’BBQ’r and grill some rib-eyes , corn, jalapeños and whole green Onions and whatever the family likes. And beer’s. Cheers🤙🏾 Freddie &Monika🍺🍺🍺
Ya know Freddie. I could watch a daily (moto)vlog of you and Monika, and be a right happy fellow. Thanks for the quality content mate. Cheers from the US.
That means a lot, thank you James!🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Another great video Freddie, i love the Kent countryside and that bike is stylish.
Cracking video
Good to see someone under 50 into bikes
Working my way through your videos bloody brilliant
Fresh approach and enthusiastic
Looking forward to more reviews
As you have a relationship with triumph be good to see you on the rocket
Keep it up
Just subscribed
Thanks for the support!🙂
I'll try and borrow a Rocket- I'm very curious about these!
Being from Maidstone I have walked/cycled every step in this video! My home town!
I'm going Tuesday to look at a bike exactly like the one in this video, will most likely get it. Great video.
Good work Freddie! The Speedmaster tank fits on the Bobber as its the same frame. I know a man who changed his out to get a bit more range. 👍🏻
VERY useful info!! Thanks🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great feeling and enjoy your motorcycle tours.I love to own a motorcycle with good people's blessings
I just picked up a 2022 Speedmaster with under 200 miles on it last week. I like it a lot.
Well that was a Wow 👏
Lovely video indeed Freddie and great camera work Monica.👍
I pick my Black Speedmaster up next weekend and can't wait.
After watching you're videos on the Speedmaster I'm sure I've made the right choice.
All the best from the West Coast of Scotland..
This video caught my eye so I checked it out. I liked it! I have a '54 and a '70 both T100s (500cc). They are so light and nimble compared to all the street bikes today however nowhere near the power and need constant fettling. I rode my dad's 2012 Speedmaster love it more than his old Honda Shadow. Cheers from Canada.
TRIUMPH HIT A BIG HOME RUN WITH THIS SPEEDMASTER, I WANT ONE LIKE NOW.
Grande Freddie 👍😍 un saluto sempre dall'Italia
Nice bike especially with the red tank. You show some good places to visit. Along the North Kent coast there are some very pretty old villages and towns - Rochester and Faversham. Lots of history. An area that featured in a few of Charles Dickens' books.
Really enjoy your content mate
Have got so much on my to do list as a result.
Thank you 👍
Another great vlog Freddie, i've been binge watching recently - I'm chasing a Speed Twin at the moment, just waiting for the latest bunch to reach NZ. Unsure of how the latest updates will look/feel.
btw - thats definitely the flag of Gibraltar - though no way did it originate from there! haha
That would make a wonderful ride though, down through Spain to Gib. :o)
Thanks very much!
Good luck with the Speed Twin purchase!🙂
Wouldn't it- London to Gib is a superb adventure!👌👌
Another fantastic video. You’ve really got me thinking about this Speed Master, I really like it.
Great content as always, thanks for making the effort, looking forward to the next one 👍
I have ordered a new Speedmaster and I am looking forward riding it. I have installed a 35kW reducing unit for the German license A2. So after 2 years I can deinstall it. But my dealer said that the speedy has still enough power. I had a Vespa 80 and so it will be totally different!! Greets from Bavaria
At last mate some one riding around the south east, have watched 3 of your videos and really like them so much i have subscribed, top work Freddie keep them coming, more from the south east please, excellent channel
Thank you so much Ian!🙂
Just watched this blog Freddie and put me in such a good mood . I’m out on my scrambler later and riding the Cheshire lanes and the Bridgewater Canal here in Lymm . That’s a great revit shirt I’ve seen in your last few blogs and love the hat . Waiting for the next bike and blog , brilliant .
Thanks very much James!🙂
The Cheshire lanes on a Scrambler- that sounds FANTASTIC!!🤘🏼🖤
The Rev’It shirt that I often wear is a brilliant summer top- one of my absolute favourites!🙌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Have a great ride!🙂
Just stunning! A great vid. as usual. An extra + for that silly Swedish song used in it! Keep up the good work!
Heading out around the Borders on the Indian soon but breakfast with Freddie sets me up for a wee explore
Such nice honest grounded videos! 👏👏👏
I agree, that plastic bit on the rear tail light is the only part of mine that I would change aside from the seat/exhaust which I already did.
What a great video, I loved the idea of the pillow.🤣🤣
Not sure about the legality but I was sure Monika was not getting on the back lol.....
Fantastic content as always, Monika's filming absolutely faultless as always.
Well done you pair, great team work!!
Thanks very much Darren, really appreciated! I had no hope with Monika and the seat!😆
Beautiful location beautiful bike Beautiful review ✌️💝
Love all these villages.
Another awesome vid. As usual!
Must visit Aylesford.
The old toll house section of the Medway is one of my regular running routes.
Another great video Freddie.
Nice story Freddie. That bike really suits you. I trove the style of those classic Triumphs. And they look even better in person.
Thanks for another informative and interesting video I didn't know about this beautiful looking before I got my Indian Bobber now I want both (but can't!) Had beach bars fitted to the Bobber as I hated the riding position. Also the dual disc brakes and cruise control are great on the Trump although the power is a lot less than the Bobber 76.9 for the Trump and 100bhp for the Indian making the Bobber better for Australian distance riding
Good man Freddie! Needs big motorcycle company sponsorship! 🎉
Cracking bike really needs the pillion seat though that grab rail looks a bit odd back there on it's own and I agree about the back light .Beautiful spot as usual nothin better than going out and stopping at a really nice spot with a really nice tea room / cafe . Cheers : )
Great video. I've had my Speedy for only a week now and love it. However I am looking for another solution to tidy up the rear light numberplate holder as I'm not a fan of the OEM bracket etc.
Great vlog. England is a wonderful place in the sunshine. If I did not already own a Harley Softail it would be the Speedmaster. Oh more credit to Monica Freddie, she is the unsung hero of a great youtube team!
Thanks so much Mark, and you’re spot on re Monika- I’ve just shown her this🙌🏻🙌🏻
Ahhhh i LOVE the Softails!
the newer bobbers have since utilised a similar tank capacity as the speedmaster, so the range between the speed and bobber should be the same now :)
"Canal doors" hehe, you crack me up, Fred! That'll be a "lock" ;^)
As for the cushion, I doubt it's strictly illegal, but it's certainly not safe and, if something happened it would probably equal "contributory negligence" to an insurance company and maybe something like reckless endangerment to a copper. Sometimes life is no fun, eh? Hehe
Re. the Bobber range: The new one has the same size tank, though the range will be *slightly* less due to the slightly more aggressive tuning. Also the new tank is a straight swap onto the old.
Lovely vid as usual, Freddie. The combo of travelog and motovlog is perfect.
Can't believe you're giving up the Speedmaster! Hehe.
That’s a very useful comment regarding the interchangeable tanks- thank you David! Absolutely pathetic I know- I had a complete brain freeze re anything canal related!🤣🤣
Another great video. In case you aren't aware there is a motorcycle show on at Brooklands on 15th August where there should be a lot of classic bikes. It might be some interesting content for you.
Thank you, I’ve just noted this down!🙌🏻
Excellent review eloquent and informative...subscribed
Thanks Alan!
Hi Freddie & Monica Hard to believe your 15 minutes away from one of the best race tracks in the world Brands Hatch. The Triumph seems to be a great bike but what you get with a Harley is an admission ticket to so many events here in the UK & when we can Europe. One of the reasons I collect my Pan America from Sykes Harley next week.
Great dealership and plenty of demo bikes Freddie 😉
I can’t believe I’ve never been to Brands Hatch!!
That’s an extremely good point re Harleys- no one does the sense of community like HD!
And the Pan America looks superb!
Hey Freddie, enjoying your content. I live down in Brighton so I really appreciate you highlighting where you've been so I can add to my list. A couple of places for your radar in case you're not aware - Alfriston, East Sussex is a nice quaint village and a short ride from Birling Gap & Beachy Head. Wingrove House is a good spot for coffee. In West Sussex, Amberley is really nice, just up the river from Arundel. Nice place for a drink by the river and a road into Arundel, via Houghton from there too. Cheers!
Amazing! Thanks so much!🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻
Who could possibly 'dislike' your shows, Freddie? Must be people jealous of your fun life????
Thank you so much!!🙂
Bit late to the party but great video. There's a Triumph dealership and a Harley dealership just down the the road from where you were in Forstal 👍🏻
I remember going over that old bridge in my parents car when I was younger always seemed really narrow for a car to go over
Another great video. Thanks for posting these. Love the Speedmaster but love my rebel 1100DCT more. Just been out to Southport doing a Freddie. Coffee breakfast a bit of posing then back home. My outfit, trilobite Jean's spada boots cheapo armoured shirt shark evotech helmet goldtop bobber gloves. 😉
Fantastic- perfect day on a fantastic bike (the Rebel Really does look great)!😃👌🏻🏍☕️
And nice gear selection- I love Spada boots (I had a highway pair👌🏻)
Another good one Freddie
you're like a gruffer paul bettany. i like your commentary on the flag of gibraltar. the creation of a good painting, sculpture, photograph, film, video, music, etc... should start with the question, "what's the story?". ride safe.
He reminds me of the guy who played the villain in Deadpool.
I bought the black and white Speedmaster Today! So will see how she goes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How was it?
Funny to hear Swedish music in the intro. :) Great video once again.
Lovely, lovely, video! Just changed oil and bled the brakes on my bike - and then coffee break with a Dobbsvideo! Great start of my day! "Monika-flagg" :) Cute..
Thanks very much! And you’ve given me a kick up the back to go and do some long overdue maintenance on my bike!🙌🏻🙂
Drinking game - take a shot every time Freddie calls the River Medway a canal.
Good luck.
Since the early 1970s l've become accustomed to seeing men on tiptoes straddling fat sports bikes. How much better it looks to see a natural riding position on a traditional bike.
Thanks Andrew, I always feel so much more comfortable with a low seat height👌🏻👌🏻
Well done Freddie 👍
You guys are the best
Very unexpected hearing the swedish song "Bullfest" on a british bike channel xD
Love your content.
Every frame of this looks like it belongs on the front of a jig saw puzzle box.
Hi i am deciding between this and a T120 and stuck which one to buy. I love the looks of the Speed master but i want to take my partner as s pillion and also worry about the pegs being low. Can you give me your opinion which is better ? 👍
Content and your quality of videos are good 👍
This bike is an absolute gentleman , when you take a look at it, you are indeed a gentleman now. The scenery is so good ! Btw, what about you doing a Pure sound series ?
Thanks! We should try and do a sound series!😃👌🏻👌🏻
Hm, take a look at #Schaaf 's channel, he's the best in UA-cam in these vids now. Might help with the audio setup.
spot on ,,, you and monika are beauty spot and cafe spot experts ,,, that bike looks great , but is thaiwanese [ bet i spelt that wrong ] made ,,, great countryside and i am glad others are getting pleasure checking out these places ,, the handle bars are like the harley beach bars or hollywood bars and look great , i am sure most people will get used to them..
Hi Simon, you're absolutely right- I think 85% of Triumphs are now built in Thailand!
hi , thanks for response , i should try and not sound so harsh , but i find it hard to swallow all the union jack signs and badges when it is not true ,,, some people have had a lot of issues with triumph , i wish they would put it right with them and be more open about things as i would like a 1200 in the future...
Greetings,
Would you be so kind as to specify the brand of boots you are wearing in the video, please? Thanks!
Sunday morning with Freddie and Monika , ten out of ten for the idea of the frilly cushion in the Kent countryside and a Fairline Holiday on the canal , my first boat . It sounds as if Triumph has put a lot of thought in to the Speedmaster as a touring bike , but forgot the pillion saddle , and the fuel cost would be better if the Fiat was out of the equation LOL . Another well presented trip out with F,n,M, TV .
Thanks, I did try my best to get Monika to review the pillion comfort!
Fuel bills were noticeably higher with use of both car and bike!😆🚗🏍
Happy Sunday!
There is a pillion seat as standard (Triumph gave Freddie a bike with the optional mudguard finisher fitted, which removes the pillion pad). My wife said it's comfy, though it's not big for those with a larger posterior.
I love the Speedmaster (have one coming next week!) but I don't think it's a 'touring bike', really. You certainly can (and I will) but if your priority is touring you will find more seating and mounting options for panniers and topboxes on something like a T120. The Speedmaster is, essentially, a relaxed, more versatile and gentlemanly version of the Bobber rather than a Triumph bagger or tourer cruiser.
Great video. Makes me jump on my bike and just go to England. Little bit far though
Thanks Rado!😃🤘🏼
Great review Freddie, have you considered trying the Moto Guzzi V7 Special, now with an 850cc engine for 2021. It would be interesting to see how it compares to this Triumph? Just a thought.
Thanks Jonathan! Absolutely- the V7, Ducati Scrambler and RE Meteor are the bikes I really want to try now!
@@FreddieDobbs RE meteors are easy to get over there now at least, isn't it? Cuz here in india, they're always selling like hot baguettes.
Btw freddie ,
i used to race a 220hp race prepped R1 at the Virginia International Raceway, for 5 years , have sold it off to another racer before coming back to india, spent money in a house, and am now looking for a relaxed street riding, and enthusiastic riding, basically a veteran rider looking for a good street bike that can tour too, which bikes do you recommend for me ?
Racing has caused my wrists to pain after a long time in the saddle, and due to much racing on my race prepped r1 , the doctor's also said that my back pain is due to that , I'm looking for a relaxed bike ( ergonomics ).
Can you suggest?
Another great video. I now have my wife watching them AND she is now coming out on the Bonnieville with me. She hasn’t ridden pillion since our daughter was born 15 years ago. Question - armoured double layer jeans - do people ride with armour in or out? It makes them far more comfortable without armour!
