Hesston 7720, een zeldzame klassieker aan het gras hakselen (part 2/2)

- Een Hesston hakselaar, veel mensen konden me vertellen wie er vroeger een had, maar bijna niemand kende nog iemand die er nu nog mee hakselt.
Na een zoektocht van meer dan 5 jaar kwam ik eind 2014 dan toch deze schitterende Hesston 7720 op het spoor, en dit voorjaar met
de eigenaren in contact.
Op vrijdag 21 augustus was het dan eindelijk zover, en gingen we op pad om deze zeldzame zeer klassieker op film te zetten.
In de eerste video zagen we al de voorbereidingen en al een deel van het gras gehakselt worden en eindigden we met de hakselaar die even terug naar de boerderij moest voor een kleine reparatie.
In deze 2e video het vervolg waar we beginnen met het afronden van de reparatie, nadat de hakselkooi teruggezet is in de machine vertrekt deze samen met de 2 New Holland 8160's weer naar het veld om de rest van het gras te hakselen.
A Hesston forage harvester, many people know someone who used to have one, but hardly anyone knows someone who still uses them now.
Late 2014, after searching for more than five years, I heard about this Hesston 7720, and this spring I got in contact with the owners.
On Friday August 21st it was finally time and we set off to capture this very rare classic on film.
In the first video we already saw the preparation and some of the grass already being chopped before the Hesston 7720 had to return to the farm for some small repairs.
In this second video we see the completion of the repair and the chopping assembly being put back into the machine.
The Hesston then, together with the 2 New Holland 8160's, drives back to the field to resume chopping.

Echt mooi om te zien, ook prachtig gefilmd!!

Good capacity but I think it needs new blower paddles or adjustment....?
I think they changed / modified the blower a bit. It can handle bigger capacity, but the flow isn't as smooth (grass tends to drop out before it reaches the end of the pipe).
A real classic, Niels. How old is it?
+balmesh Thank you Alan. I do not know the exact age, but these machines are from the mid '80's early '90's, so I guess about 25 to 30 years old or so.

It may be old, but it's not uncommon here. Lot's of farmer use relative old machinery, it still works great but only costs a fraction of a new machine, especialy forageharvesters. Only thing is you have to be able to maintain them yourself, which most farmers don't have any problems with ;)

+Beosaw According to the farmer it has an Fiat engine, however, if I check the specifications on the internet, it should have a straight 6 cylinder Iveco engine.
+nagd2010 Fiat straight 6? Turbocharged it is for sure, that I can hear. It is an very nice machine and I hope that it must work in the 'Mais'.

It is. The machines were sold as either Fiatagri or as Hesston, but they're the same machines. In the Netherlands they were mostly sold as Hesston.

+Ian Bluemink volgens mij in de buurt van Deventer, want je ziet ook de IJssel en de A1 dus ik zou zeggen of Bathem of Olst- Wijhe maar idd een mooie video. kijk een terug op ong 11 minuten wat er op de achtergrond rijd is volgens mij ook een stukje antiek ( trekker)
